Chris is popping balloons as Andrew clears the decorations from his surprise party. Summer and Tash want to know what's going on but Chris refuses to talk. Andrew explains, and they soon cotton on that Chris had lied to Aidan about the barbeque - the surprise party is off.
Sophie notices that Callum is now 'in a relationship' on Facebook. Paul notices over her shoulder and is smug to see they are now 'official'.
Callum tells Rani that he's confused by all the dancing in the Bollywood film they've just watched!
Sophie tells Paul she's upset that she never gets to see Callum anymore. Paul reminds her that she's no longer banned from seeing Rani, and sympathises that it's hard to be the 'third wheel'. Paul insists Sophie invite Callum and Rani over, and tells her to stop sulking.
Callum and Rani simultaneously receive a text from Sophie inviting them over.
CALLUM: You know what this means? 'Operation pay- back' is back on.
Paul scours the Erinsborough News for an article on his blood donation, and is outraged with Sumer that it is a tiny article buried in the back pages. Summer explains that it was up to Susan - she's the boss.
PAUL: This whole stunt was supposed to lift my profile. What was the point in doing it if nobody even knows about it?
SUMMER: Yes, what is the point of donating blood Paul?
Summer mentions that there's a fair buzz about the article online - but it's all negative! Summer explains that the readers saw right through it. Toadie eavesdrops the conversation to his amusement. Toadie mocks Paul's attempts, and sarcastically suggests that he should get all the lawyers at work to head down and donate some blood - Paul must be a Public Relations genius! Paul is left alone, but suddenly has an idea - he makes a call for the top PR firms in the city.
Callum and Rani are still playing the couple charade, to Sophie's annoyance. Callum explains to Sophie that he's snuck into Rani's house a couple of times to see her since she's grounded. He carries on making sandwiches whilst Sophie goes to quiz Rani. She explains that she hasn't seen Callum at all since she's been grounded - the charade has been busted! Paul schedules a meeting with a PR representative for the afternoon. Sophie tells Paul that she knows Callum and Rani are faking, whilst the couple play- fight on the sofa.
PAUL: So, what's that then?
SOPHIE: I don't know... but it's not real.
Tash comments that it was an easier job cleaning up than the last party at No. 32. Tash tells Chris that Aidan will realise he's made a mistake.
Andrew stops Aidan at the Reception. He says that Chris doesn't know that he's come down to talk to him; he just wants to tell Aidan not to make the same mistake he made with Summer and stuff things up.
ANDREW: This is Chris' first relationship. Just give him a second chance.
Tash says it's not completely over, but Chris doesn't want to talk about it. He's annoyed to find out that Andrew's gone to speak to Aidan. Tash convinces Chris it's a good thing - if anyone can change his mind it's Andrew.
Andrew admits that Chris has made a few mistakes in lying to Aidan, but he deserves another break.
ANDREW: Chris is a great guy.
Aidan: I know. And this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I don't want to hate Chris, and if I don't do this now then...
Aidan gets Chris' birthday present from behind the desk and insists that Andrew give it to him.
Tash and Summer remind Chris that it's still his birthday. Andrew heads back with Aidan's present. Chris looks pretty shocked, and leaves it on the coffee table. Andrew insists that he's going to take Chris to the pub for his birthday, and it should be just the two of them.
Andrew says the day has nothing to do with Aidan - just a game of darts, and then he'll take Chris out on the town. Chris insists he doesn't want to celebrate and sits pensively.
ANDREW: Relationships are overrated. We don't have to worry about that tonight. We're just a couple of boys hitting the town, we can forget about everything.
CHRIS: I don't want to forget about everything! I stuffed up! I was gutless and I got what I deserved.
Chris says he's going home.
Callum awkwardly feeds Rani crisps and Sophie looks amused at their charade. She switches of the TV and has an idea - she suggests playing Truth or Dare and convinces the two of them to play - she'll even go first.
Chris packs away all of his birthday gift bags and wrapping paper, and picks up Aidan's present. He opens it; the framed scorecard from their first date. Andrew heads in with pizzas, takes the frame from Chris and puts it on the shelf. The two sit in silence, realising they have the wrong pizzas and nod to each other in a moment of silent friendship and comfort.
Callum and Rani are concerned that Sophie will find out they're faking it. Sophie heads downstairs after changing Andrew's Facebook status as her dare. Sophie dares Rani to kiss Callum, and Rani looks very distressed! The two slowly edge awkwardly together put Rani pulls out at the last moment.
RANI: I can't do it!
SOPHIE: Yes, I knew it! Woohoo!
Rani explains to Sophie that they only pretended to get back at her - she wants to know why she tried to wreck her and Callum's friendship. Sophie explains that she felt excluded. Rani admits that things have changed, but it doesn't mean the three of them can't be friends!
Paul shouts at Sophie to turn down the music downstairs, and invites Zoe, the PR lady in. Paul explains that he needs a strategy to raise his public profile. She refuses any money and explains that individuals aren't her specialty. Paul insists he just wants Zoe.
PAUL: I want to get back to running my newspaper. It's the smallest of my businesses I know, but it's the one that I love. My passion is my paper! I've worked very very hard to build it up to be a profitable and readable publication, one that I believe in. I'm going to be dammed if all that hard work goes to waste. My problem is, I can't get back in there without your help.
PAUL: Alright, yeh you'll do it?
Paul is over the moon and says he has a few ideas to start. Zoe makes things clear though - she's the one who comes up with the ideas. If he's not comfortable, it won't work! (Paul has met his match!). She laughs at his attempt at the blood donation, and she proposes a charity event at Lassiters for Women's Health week.
Paul sees Zoe to her car - they agree the event will be at Charlie's, a Bachelor auction. He's scared of being out of control, but Zoe assures him she does her job well. Sophie explains to Callum and Rani that they should have got their stories straight if she was going to fall for it. They wave each other goodbye. Just as Rani walks away, Callum calls out - she turns around in slow- motion as a cheesey 80s sax- jazz tune plays and she whips her hair like a shampoo advert. (Yes, that actually did just happen.) Callum is left wiping his mouth from the drool after he gazes longingly.
Callum returns late home - he went for a walk. He explains to Toadie that Sophie found out about his fake relationship. Callum is very dismissive about the issue.
TOADIE: Ahhh... you really like her don't you.
TOADIE: But she just wants to be friends.
CALLUM: No! She likes me too. I know she does.
TOADIE: Did she say that?
CALLUM: She didn't have to.
TOADIE: She kind of does mate!
Toadie suggests that they talk to Sonya about it, but Callum insists he knows what he's doing to win her heart.
