No 32
The evening before his birthday, Chris looks guiltily at Aidan's work shirt hanging on the mantelpiece, when Tash comes in whinging about what an awful boss Kate is.

TASH (mimicking Kate): Hi, welcome to Charlie's, how could I help you? My name's Kate and I don't have a life!

She quickly notices that Chris is pretty quiet and wants to know what's up. He passes it off as birthday blues, lying to Tash by telling her he's already invited Aidan to the party, but that he's working and couldn't get the time off. Chris asks Tash not to say anything to Aidan, making the excuse that he doesn't want him to feel guilty - and she agrees.

The next morning, Tash has prepared a birthday breakfast for Chris, as well as a cake with a candle for him to blow out. She gives him a kiss and a hug, as Aidan walks in. Aidan and Chris share a lingering kiss on the lips (entirely in the foreground this time!) and Aidan wishes Chris a happy birthday, before heading off to work.

Harold's
Lucas runs into Sonya who's shopping for chocolate. She explains she's been talking to Vanessa and needs to tell him something before anyone else does - she's pregnant. Lucas is over the moon for Sonya and Toadie, and congratulates her. She's excited about the prospect of them both being parents at the same time. Lucas seems a little less joyous about that, but he keeps smiling. At Sonya's suggestion he agrees he'll come and spend a little 'bloke time' with Toadie to discuss their fatherly futures.

Lassiter's Complex
Lucas runs into Chris's parents, George and Patricia. They comment on how much Chris looks up to Lucas, and invite him to come and join them for the birthday barbecue at the lake later. He agrees, but isn't thrilled to learn that Chris has told his parents about Vanessa's pregnancy; they assume she's his partner, and tell Lucas she's welcome to join them as well if she wants. They also scare Lucas by hammering home how much of a lifetime commitment parenting is!

No 30
Toadie is getting some origami practice in, when Lucas turns up at the door. He hugs Toadie and congratulates him on the news of Sonya's pregnancy. They decide to go for a celebratory beer, but since Toadie and Sonya want to keep the news low-key, Toadie doesn't want to go to Charlie's - and has another idea instead.

The Men's Shed
Toadie and Lucas play table football and tease each other, but the talk quickly turns serious and beers are opened, as the two men begin to discuss the enormity of what's ahead of them as fathers. Lucas asks Toadie whether it scares the hell out of him!

No 32
Andrew puts the full weight of Robinson Entertainment (namely, himself) behind the task of decorating No 32 for Chris's surprise party, that Aidan has organised for later on.

Lassiter's Lake
Chris turns up for the Pappases' own party, meanwhile, where guests include Tash, Summer, Chris's yiayia (grandma) Koula, and numerous other relatives.

Andrew struggles with balloon arrangements, and is forced to replenish his strength with nibbles.

Chris is also eating nibbles, and smiles to see all his family talking happily together.

In his lunch break, Aidan comes to check up on Andrew's decorating progress - and is impressed with the results. He also wanted to check that Summer wasn't bringing Chris to the house, which would ruin the surprise; but Andrew tells him there's no chance of that, implying Summer won't even be in the same room as him. Aidan starts laying into Andrew, telling him that he and Summer need to stop being immature and 'start thinking of others for a change'; but Andrew explains it's all in hand: Summer is attending the party at the lake, while Andrew is going to the one this evening. Andrew soon realises that Aidan doesn't know about the family party; Aidan gets upset and walks out.

Lassiter's Lake
Chris is over the moon with his present from Tash, Summer and Andrew, which is a signed Melbourne Tigers basketball shirt. Chris raises a toast and everybody cheers - just as Aidan appears in the distance. Chris's face falls as he sees the look on Aidan's own face. George drags Chris off to show him something, and Aidan leaves again.

George leads the party away from the lake to present Chris's present from his parents - they've bought him a car. Chris is silent in thought at first, but eventually remembers where he is and gives his mum and dad a hug - still looking to see if he can spy Aidan in the distance as he does so.

The Men's Shed
Lucas and Toadie continue their man-to-man chat. Toadie tries to be optimistic about his prospects for fatherhood since he's done okay with Callum - but Lucas talks him down again, reminding him that he never had to deal with Cal as a baby, and that having a newborn will be a totally different kettle of fish. He starts scaring Toadie by telling him how careful you have to be with feeding and holding babies, etc. Sonya turns up to find them both stressing about becoming dads. But while she reassures Toadie about them being a team, Lucas walks away, concerned that his situation with Vanessa is somewhat different.

Lassiter's Lake
A forlorn Chris tries to call Aidan, but can't get through and leaves a voicemail message, saying he's really sorry and asking him to call back. George approaches and overhears Chris's message. He wants to know what's going on; Chris has just got a new car yet he can barely raise a smile. Chris tries to make excuses but George is having none of it.

GEORGE: Chris. No more lies.
CHRIS: I've got a boyfriend, Dad.
GEORGE: Aidan?
CHRIS: I didn't tell him about today because of what you said, when I asked you if he could come. And he found out about it. I think I've stuffed everything up.

Patricia comes to fetch them and realises something's wrong - so George takes her to one side to explain what's happened. Chris looks worried.

A few minutes later, he watches them talk from a distance, not knowing how they're going to react. Summer and Tash want to know what's going on; he admits he told his dad about Aidan. His parents come back over and ask to talk to Chris alone; he tells Tash and Summer he'll be fine and they leave the family to it.

GEORGE: I had to talk to your mother because I needed some advice. Sometimes I think I don't know everything that's going on with you. So I ask her why. She says, 'How is the boy going to tell you how he feels, if you don't do the same for him?' You wanted to play basketball; I said no; but you became captain. You wanted to be a mechanic; I said no; but you became a mechanic, and a bloody good one. Your mother said it reminds her of someone else who just had to prove his dad was wrong all the time. I don't know who she's talking about! I love you. And I'm proud of you. We're proud of you. We're proud of everything you do. Everything.
PATRICIA: We love you, Chris.
GEORGE: Go.

George hands him the car keys, and Chris smiles briefly, before leaving to speak to Aidan.

Erinsborough Hospital
Chris pulls up in his new car, and soon finds Aidan inside.

CHRIS: I am so sorry.
AIDAN: I know you are.

Chris explains that he wanted to invite him, but that all his extended family was going to be there and it just got too big. But now he's told his mum and dad about their relationship, he says they were really good about it and sent him here to fix things. Taking Aidan's hand, he says he promises it'll be different from now on.

CHRIS: They know about us now. We don't have to hide anymore.
AIDAN: I never hid!

Chris asks Aidan to come back to the party with him and meet everyone. But Aidan pulls his hand away, saying it's too late - he can't keep doing this.

AIDAN: I have been patient, you know that. And it's because I really like you. But this isn't fair and it's hurting me, and I have to start thinking about myself again. I'm really sorry. It's over.

Chris begs him not to end it, but Aidan has nothing more to say and walks away.

No 32
Having had word from Aidan about what's happened, Andrew is now undoing all his hard work from earlier and taking down all the decorations. Chris comes in, looking sad; he soon learns that Aidan was responsible for organising the party, which makes him feel even worse.

Not sure what to say, Andrew suggests they go to the pub for a drink, but Chris is too busy feeling guilty about the effort Aidan's gone to, and says he'll help clean up. Despite Andrew's protests, Chris starts angrily ripping the decorations down himself; but it all gets too much for him and he breaks down in tears. As Chris sobs, Andrew puts a friendly arm around him and strokes his hair comfortingly.

Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Chris is distraught, but doesn't want to talk about it, as Tash and Summer learn the bad news
- Andrew pays a visit to the hospital in a bid to convince Aidan to change his mind
- Following his failed blood donation stunt, Paul is told by Summer that no- one sees him as a nice guy
- Sophie tells Paul that Callum and Rani aren't really together, and later dares them to kiss each another
