Sophie giving advice to Rani about Callum.
Sonya worried that all she and Toadie are thinking about is wanting to have a child.
Lucas finding out some news!
Previously on Neighbours
Priya still not letting Sophie back to EHS despite her attempt at an apology.
Sonya and Toadie's inability to conceive despite them doing all that they can.
Vanessa gets into her car with a blue box and an envelope addressed to Lucas.
Sonya tries to rope Lucas into helping the working bee at the school since he's nicked off early from work but he declines as he's got other plans. Kate isn't amused at him using her as an excuse but changes her tune when he invites her down to Charlie's with him.
Sonya finishes her chat with Priya over what she's donating to the school and Callum decides its time to talk to Priya on behalf of Sophie since she doesn't want to try again. Priya holds firm and reminds Rani that Paul doesn't want them socialising together either!
Karl tries to give Rhys a subtle lecture about not drinking when they both appear to be heading for Charlie's and instead receives one back about him being single and Rhys also gets it in about Susan becoming editor too.
Karl leaves a voicemail message for Susan congratulating her on becoming editor of the paper although gets it into he message that he wasn't too amused at hearing from someone other than her. His attention is then drawn to a delivery he's receiving and one that he wasn't expecting. Lou follows the delivery guys in and is curious too to see what is in the boxes and when Karl opens the accompanying letter discovers that the packages contains the drum kit that Jimmy used to play! (His widow Valerie Wilson sent them to Karl as a reminder of happy days).
Lou jokes that it's just what the neighbourhood needs when Karl starts creating a racket, sorry playing away!
Priya finishes her call to Ajay (they're chatting about the changes at the Erinsborough News) when she spots Sophie at her door. Sophie goes to hand over the letter she wrote earlier but Priya thinks she just wrote it after the Callum/Rani chat didn't work!
Karl has a moment of inspiration as he bangs away on the drums while ‘Free as a River' blasts out of the stereo, calling round the former members of their group to get together for a jam session. Sadly it appears the others aren't available so his idea falls flat.
Kate and Lucas enter the bar and spot Rhys sitting alone and she decides to wind him up but he replies that he has company – and indicates over to a table of women he has his eyes on! Lucas is interested in joining the game too and tells them about a lady he met a few weeks ago - the one who has now arrived in Ramsay Street looking for him! Lucas also adds that after Emilia he just wants to have fun so heads over to the table where the ladies are.
Sonya spots a stranger (Vanessa) looking lost and goes over to see if she can help. She's after where Lucas lives and Sonya points her in the right direction but rejects the offer of her calling him as she wants to wait for him even when Sonya says that could be a while.
Sonya decides she can't leave Vanessa sitting on the wall outside #24 and invites her in and the do the proper intro's with each other.
Rhys and Kate discuss how Lucas is getting on with the lady he is chatting up – Rhys thinks she's nothing but trouble but Kate thinks she is interested. “Interested in what?” Rhys ponders!
Sonya brings back a cuppa for them and Vanessa asks questions about Lucas since she doesn't know too much about him. Vanessa explains how she came across Lucas and that she's back because she has something that belongs to him and won't explain to her either what is in the blue box other than saying, “it's a surprise.”
Rhys and Kate continue to discuss how good/bad Lucas is doing!
Vanessa asks to use the loo and Sonya gives her directions and stares at the box Vanessa left on the sofa.
Lucas leaves the lady and the duo think that she's obviously not into casual (hence why he got the heave ho) but seconds later the lady tells her friends she's leaving!
KATE: You really don't know much about women don't you?!
Curiosity gets the better of Sonya and she goes to see what is inside the box but gets busted by Vanessa coming back from the toilet and takes the box and herself back outside to wait for Lucas.
Kate spots her sister sitting outside of Harold's, frustrated at failing to get back into EHS. After reading the letter, Kate takes it and tells Sophie to leave it to her, confident that Priya will listen this time!
Priya accuses Kate of being sent by Paul, which she refutes, and when Priya shows no signs of listening comes out bluntly and tells her that they both know what it's about. “I beg your pardon?!” Priya replies to that so Kate accuses her of punishing Sophie for something Paul has done.
KATE: She's just a kid.
PRIYA: I'm well aware of that.
Kate asks if Priya actually read Sophie's letter and when she doesn't reply, hands it over to her and urges her to. Reluctantly Priya takes the letter and begins to read it after Kate leaves.
Cal tries to cheer Sophie up by offering her cake but she's down in the dumps at the thought of going back to Eden Grammar. “They're all snobs,” she cries just as Priya enters the store. Cal coves up why Rani is there and Priya asks Sophie if they can have a chat.
Heading to another table, Priya explains that Kate came to see her and ever so casually, says that she's reconsidered her letter and hands her some forms for Paul to sign – Sophie is getting back into EHS! Sophie is chuffed she's getting back in… well for the next month anyway when the decision will be reviewed.
Rhys spots Karl putting up a poster advertising for band members and asks sarcastically asks for a ticket for their first gig!
Kate passes Karl on the way out and tells Rhys about being sisterly and getting Sophie back into EHS. He wonders how Lucas is getting on with the “cling- on” date and Kate accuses him of being jealous!
Lou is amused to see Lucas and his date pash/talk as they enter the house before telling his housemate that he has a visitor – Vanessa. She apologises for interrupting and reminds Lucas of her name! “What's up?” he asks and at that point ‘cling- on' decides to leave and Lou makes himself scarce too, to chat to Harold on Skype.
Alone, Lucas and Vanessa agree that they did plan on their thing just being the one night so he's puzzled over why she is back. Vanessa doesn't say anything, just goes and gets the blue box and hands it over to him. He opens it to find it's full of cupcakes. This puzzles him and asks what she is doing here, so she begins by saying she isn't here to stalk him and yes that night wasn't the start of something.
LUCAS: Okay, so why are you here?
VANESSA: I'm pregnant.
Lucas is gobsmacked as we head into the final commercial break.
Break over and Vanessa tells him that she found out late the previous week but needed a few days to think about what to do. Lucas as you can imagine is stunned by what he's just been told and she adds that she isn't here to force him into anything, she just thought he should know.
VANESSA: I know this is a shock but maybe we should talk about it.
Lucas eventually finds his voice and replies that he thought they'd been careful! “Not careful enough,” she replies back to him! Vanessa offers to make him a cuppa, which he refuses and asks instead for some time, so she writes down her number for him so they can talk before she leaves the house.
