Chris and Tash arrive back at the garage, Tash yapping away while Chris isn't listening. Lucas asks Chris how it went, Chris gives a brief answer, but doesn't want to talk much. Tash and Chris tell Lucas that Michael wasn't on a date; he was picking up Emilia as she got stranded after a wedding.
Meanwhile Emilia and Michael arrive home. They plan to take things slowly before they tell Tash.
Andrew tells Summer about a Society sign- up event at uni tomorrow morning and invites Summer to it.
Harold's (next day)
Tash tells Emilia about the Society event, but says she won't go as she doesn't need help making friends. Chris enters, and Emilia thanks him again for rescuing her yesterday. Emilia asks Chris if he wants anything, but Chris says he's fine. Tash is now suspicious as Chris never knocks back food. Chris tells Tash that its because of Lucas laying into him yesterday. Tash tells him that Lucas is probably still hung up over Emilia.
TASH: Lucas needs to grow a pair, and if he doesn't, it's not your problem.
CHRIS: It's just he still thinks he has a chance with Emilia, you know because she's around so much
TASH: She's around for me and Dad, and I'm really glad she is.
Chris arrives and asks Michael if something is going on between him and Emilia, telling him he found her bra in Michael's car.
CHRIS: When are you going to tell Tash?
MICHAEL: There's nothing to tell
CHRIS: She thinks you guys are happy families, if she heard it from someone else...
MICHAEL: Just drop it Chris. I've got to get to class
CHRIS: Michael. If I found out about this, other people will too. You have to tell Tash.
Michael tells Emilia that Chris knows about the two of them. Emilia doesn't want to tell Tash until they know what it is between them. Michael says he doesn't want to keep this from Tash.
Aidan tells Chris that it's not really his place to tell Tash. She walks in on the quiet tension, and thinks the two of them are fighting. They tell her they aren't. Lucas arrives and asks Tash about Emilia.
TASH: She's great. Look, it sucks for you that you guys broke up, but Emilia knows what she wants. I'm sorry if that's not you.
LUCAS: Right, then I guess I've been told.
Eden University Campus
Andrew and Summer arrive at the Society event. Summer wanders over to the Journalism Society. She meets a girl, Belinda, signing up. She says she's only doing the Journalism course because she wants to get into Television Journalism. She wants to make contacts to fast track her career. She says bye to Summer and leaves, while Summer walks off annoyed.
Summer mouths off to Andrew about Belinda doing the course that Summer wants to do and she doesn't even want it. Summer says that all the jobs out there are looking for either a degree or experience. By luck, Susan enters, so Summer asks her about how to get started in journalism.
SUSAN: The places you've tried don't know you, they don't know what you're capable of
SUMMER: That is the problem
SUSAN: Well then you've got to show them. You've got to find a way to make yourself indispensable.
Summer arrives at Paul's, and asks for a minute of his time. She suggests starting up a new website for the Erinsborough News
SUMMER: What if your online edition actually helped to increase sales of your newspaper. You upload the news when it breaks and it acts as a teaser to get people buying the hardcopy.
PAUL: Why on earth would they buy it if they've already read it?
SUMMER: Because people would buy the hard copy to read follow up articles, more in depth coverage
PAUL: That's all fabulous, Gen Y theory
SUMMER: You will find a new, younger demographic Paul. You can sell ad space on the website and that brings in more revenue
PAUL: None of which has one skerrick of proof that it actually works.
SUMMER: Well all the other papers are doing it, and I can make it work for you. You need someone young and IT literate.
Summer continues to stand up for her idea, saying he needs her, but Paul sends her away.
Karl is in his jogging gear doing stretches while chatting to Andrew. He's planning on running 10K with Jessica. Summer arrives and moans to Andrew and Karl. Summer plans to show Paul what she can do to convince him.
Paul goes to the counter, passing Susan who's sitting with her laptop (eavesdropping – typical Susan.) Summer tells Paul that she has set up a twitter page and facebook account for the Erinsborough News. She also shows Paul a copy she's made of the Erinsborough News website that she's made more user friendly. Susan watches pleased as Summer shows the website to Paul, who simply orders his coffee. Clearly she's won him over.
(FYI if you want to see the Erinsborough News website go here: http://erinsboroughnews.com.au/ though it hasn't been updated since Noah and Kate had their affair. The twitter page hasn't been updated since about that time either, and the facebook page has absolutely nothing on it besides a picture. Summer's right - Paul is in desperate need of someone IT literate.)
Emilia and Michael stand beside his car, and are about to kiss when they hear Tash and Chris approaching. Tash asks Michael to take her to the shops and goes inside to get changed, Chris walks off after giving a stern look to Michael. Michael tells Emilia that they have to tell Tash the truth. Just then they see Lucas taking out a bin. They say a quick hi to him before he goes back inside.
EMILIA: Thats the problem, if Tash finds out then everybody finds out
MICHAEL: We have to tell her, now.
Michael and Emilia enter Tash's bedroom and ask Tash to sit down.
EMILIA: Over the last couple of weeks, your dad and I have been growing closer, there's something there between us
TASH: Something? (Michael takes Emilia's hand)
MICHAEL: There's a connection
TASH: (shocked) Emilia's the mystery girlfriend
Tash turns away from the two of them.
TASH: I need to think about this. That means get out!
