Port Douglas
When they meet up, Kate confirms to Dominic that yes she does still want to go to Vietnam with him.

Dougies
Kate packs up her stuff and says her farewells to Erin with a promise to meet up in Thailand as they'd previously arranged.

Ramsay Street
Sophie stands and longingly watches on as Callum and Toadie muck around with each other (Cal threw some plants at Toadie and as a punishment was told he was on dishes duty again that evening). Sonya calls on her when she notices Sophie and Cal goes over to chat but they decide to continue it at #22 mainly so Cal can get out of doing more chores!

Now they are alone, Toadie tries to reassure Sonya about the fertility tests (they're waiting to hear back about them) and that he will still love her regardless. Jade spots them hugging as she is about to head out on a run and thinks it's bad news but they quickly say they are still waiting to hear.

Number 22
Cal remarks that he's finding things weird without Sophie at school - he's been forced to do group work with Dean! He tries chatting to her about things but Sophie is rather down in the dumps as Kate isn't coming back and Susan isn't going to be her guardian. Instinctively, Cal goes over and gives her a reassuring hug before commenting that he can't believe Kate isn't coming back and asks if Soph asked her to return. Her silence says it all and he urges her to tell Kate what is going on and to come home.

CALLUM: She will if you ask.
SOPHIE: No she won't. She doesn't care what happens to me.
CALLUM: She's your sister.

Sophie ignores that and pours him a glass of water.

CALLUM: Just ask her Soph!
SOPHIE: Look if Kate wanted to come back then she'd be on the plane right now okay, so can you just shut up about it... Please.

Cal then distracts Sophie by getting her to make him a smoothie and he opens up her laptop.

Ramsay Street
Jade is back from her run and there is still no news and Sonya is getting more stressed out. Leaving her sister to it, Jade heads inside and passes Rhys on the way. Sonya immediately pounces on him for news of the tests but unlike his near neighbour, Rhys isn't willing to discuss the results outwith the hospital. However, just like Karl, he eventually gives in to emotional blackmail (Sonya directly asking him if she can have kids or not) and reveals that yes, she can have kids. Toadie is celebrating their good news but Rhys puts a bit of a dampener on the happiness by suggesting they continue their conversation inside.

Number 30
Turns out it isn't Sonya who has the problem but Toadie - he's got a low sperm count. Sounds like we've just rewound to 2004 and Max Hoyland being told the same thing! Rhys tries to suggest some reasons for the low count (with a heavy slant on stress!) and how they can correct it. He adds also that some guys find it's a catalyst for changing their lives for the better and asks them to come into the hospital so they can help Toadie make the necessary adjustments that should improve his count. As the conversation has progressed, Toadie has got quieter and quieter (the shock no doubt) and eventually excuses himself from the house.

Port Douglas
Kate and Dominic are spending their last few hours on the beach before their flight to Vietnam. She remarks to him that Sophie would love this place and he suggests calling to tell her sister that. "That worked out so well last time," she replies! Dom suggests emailing even if Kate is unsure whether Sophie wants to hear from her or not. "She's your sister," he reassures her.

Harold's Store
Cal and Sophie have retreated to the store but Sophie's mood hasn't improved with the change of venue! As she heads to the counter to order some toasties, Sophie overhears Karl mentioning 'Kate' in his conversation and she asks him about it when the call ends. He breaks it to her that Paul is coming back but Kate isn't and suggests she talks to Susan for more info.

Sophie looks like her world has just ended and drags herself back to the table she is sharing with Callum. "Don't give up on Kate," he tells her, adding that she might surprise her!

SOPHIE: She won't and there is no-one else. I'm going into foster care.

Port Douglas
Kate uses Dominic's iPad to send Sophie an email but we hear her read what she is writing to her sister.

KATE: Hey Soph. I'm so sorry we've been fighting. I know you're angry and I know you are upset. I want to help but I don't know how, I don't even know how to talk to you anymore. I thought if I let you know whats going on with me, then maybe that's a start. Can I just tell you that I miss you really badly? I'm worried about you.

We then hear Sophie reading out the email she sent to Kate.

SOPHIE: Kate, I'm really sorry to hassle you while you are on holiday. I know I said some horrible stuff to you but that was because I was really upset and I really need some help.

I somehow think it's not Sophie who has written this email but Callum (when he distracted Sophie) as we now hear both his voice and Sophie's continuing to read out the email.

SOPHIE AND CALLUM: I can't solve this by myself. Please come home. Now.

CALLUM: But if you don't get to that meeting, the DHS will take me into care. Love Sophie.

Dominic returns and Kate puts away the iPad and confirms to him that she sent the email. He can sense something is up but Kate isn't giving anything away and instead diverts his attention to him showing her some more of Port Douglas before they leave.

Lassiters Complex
Karl comes across Toadie sitting staring into space at the complex. They chat nonchalantly about the coffee (there is a new stronger blend apparently) before he brings up the tests and how Sonya is bearing up - he's still under the impression the problem lies with her. He suggests telling Sonya to lay off the coffee too and with that, Toadie pours his into a flowerbed. Karl is puzzled by Toadie's actions and Toadie asks is there anything else he should give up before spouting off all the things he should give up because in his mindset they won't be having a child.

Charlie's
"What's the story?" Karl asks after sitting down with Toadie. "I need to adjust my lifestyle and go back for more tests," Toadie begins with and Karl agrees with Toadie's melancholy that it won't make him any less of a man. Toad is blaming himself for the lifestyle he led and Karl suggests that they tackle the issue like a medical condition and the practical realities as per the flyers Rhys gave them.

Number 30
Toadie returns and overhears Jade and Sonya talking about him/the news and walks in just as Jade is saying it must be so humiliating for him. Jade is asked to leave, which she does, and Toadie makes his annoyance at Sonya telling her sister known. "She won't say anything," Sonya says before going back to something he told her earlier - that whatever happens they will deal with it and he'd love her no matter what.

SONYA: Now I'm saying this to you.

Toadie ignores what she's just said and instead turns him mind to tidying up the house including getting rid of magazines with kids stuff that they were looking at.

Port Douglas
Dominic returns with some drinks and news that he's ordered food for them too. While Kate is impressed at the drinks he's returned with (some sort of cocktail) he is more than impressed with her. He remarks after a kiss that Sophie would like Port Douglas and that gets Kate thinking again.

Number 22
Sophie sits alone at home and is moved at seeing reminders of the relationship Paul and Andrew have with each other - an invite for them to the Small Business Dinner awards and a note Andrew left for his dad.

Port Douglas
As they walk along the beach, Kate stops Dominic talking about their Vietnam trip to tell him about the email from Sophie and that she may end up in care.

Number 22
Sophie looks at the picture of herself and Kate before putting her keys onto a pile of papers on the dining room table.

Port Douglas
Kate gives Dominic the bad news she isn't going to Vietnam with him. "Goodbye Kate," he says and watches her tearfully walk away from him.

Number 22
Sophie grabs her bags and takes one last look around the place before leaving - she's doing a runner!
