- Paul trying to track Kate down.
- Paul trying to steal a boat to go after Kate.
- The police ordering Paul out of Port Douglas!
Kate is telling Erin about her boat trip when she returns from the shower and then reveals to her that Paul's been looking for her because Sophie is in trouble. She borrows Erin's phone to call Paul but the phone hasn't got any credit left so she hands some coins over to Kate so she can use the public phone.
Sophie is working through the maths work Susan has set her, not amused at having to do them full stop! She wants to quit but Susan bribes her with taking a break for lunch if she finishes the remainder of them.
Sonya has got a pile of pregnancy tests and is drinking plenty of water to make sure she uses them all up! Unfortunately each one indicates a negative result.
Emilia spots Sonya reading and thinks it's a book club book for a moment before finding out it's actually a book on fertility. They start chatting about having babies and Emilia tells conception stories about her friends, which seems to reassure Sonya that it's not just her.
Kate returns with a new mobile phone and begins setting it up.
Number 22/Port Douglas
Sophie answers the phone and it's Kate! Kate seems to hear from her a different story to the one her housemate said because Sophie is totally underplaying how bad things are, in fact you'd barely think there is anything wrong! Sophie informs her that not only is Paul sorting things out but that Susan is tutoring her and has offered to be her guardian too.
SOPHIE: So just go and have fantastic holiday because I'm fine.
The words may say one thing but the look and the way she actually said it, say the opposite and the fact she throws the phone away after she hangs up.
Susan orders lunch for herself and Sophie and as they sit down, Sophie bums her up with what a great mum Susan has been looking after kids like Summer and Ringo, and that she doesn't want to live in some foster house with an awful family. “That's not going to happen,” Susan reassures her.
SOPHIE: What happens if it does? If Kate doesn't come back then I'm going to need a new guardian. Why can't it be you? You've had heaps of experience raising kids and the DHS would love you.
SUSAN: Oh Soph I don't think that's what you really need.
SOPHIE: Look I promise. I'll try not to get into trouble any more.
(Sophie takes Susan's hands)
SOPHIE: Just please. I really want you to be my guardian.
Erin returns with news of why Kate can't get hold of Paul and shows her a YouTube clip of him being arrested! She finds it hilarious unlike Kate! “He must be desperate to find you,” Erin tells her but after the conversation with Sophie, Kate doesn't think so as everything is fine. “I came up here to forget everything,” Kate says and the giggly mood Erin is in (she's loving the YouTube video!) tells her to just do that.
Toadie is having a DVD session when Sonya returns with a bag full of negative pregnancy tests. She is very down at not being able to get pregnant partially because of what she did to her body. Toadie reassures her they will get pregnant eventually they just need to keep on practicing.

Kate tracks Paul down just as he is finished packing and about to leave complete with a policeman watching over him! He seems shocked to find out Kate already knows about Sophie being expelled, so she tells him about calling Sophie and that everything is fine.
PAUL: No, everything is not fine. There's a DHS meeting.
KATE: Well she told me to stay here.
PAUL: Forget about what Sophie said, Roz is expecting you to be at that meeting.
He then says why Sophie did what she did – because she was upset at Kate leaving. “It was her decision to move out,” Kate reminds him.
KATE: She made it perfectly clear that she didn't want anything to do with me.
PAUL: Yes, until you left and then she realised how stupid she'd been. Oh Kate come on, you've got a chance to sort this out, you can always come back to Queensland later.
KATE: Oh when?! When it's convenient for everyone else? When you and Sophie finally give me permission to have a life?
PAUL: Right now, what's going on back home is serious and you can't pretend that it's not happening. Now, whether you like to admit it or not, you are still Sophie's legal guardian and you need to come back home to Erinsborough to be at that hearing.
Karl pulls up after dropping Summer at the station to tell Susan (and Sophie) who have just walked home. Sophie heads inside keen to resume studying and thanking Susan profusely for the lunch they had.
Susan tells Karl about Sophie asking her to be her guardian. “Doesn't muck around,” he replies and Susan says she needs to think of a way to let Sophie down gently. “Good luck!” he says before getting back into his car to drive it into his driveway.
Sophie comes straight out and asks Susan if she told Karl and what is her decision is when she enters the house. Susan replies that she doesn't need her because Kate is her guardian and dismisses Sophie saying that Kate doesn't want to look after her any more.
SOPHIE: Yes it is and I don't want to live with her either so why can't you do it?
SUSAN: Because it's not my place. You and Kate need to stick together. Paul will find her, he'll bring her back. You won't need me and you certainly won't have to worry about living with strangers.
Sophie shakes her head and tells Susan that Kate isn't coming home, she spoke with her before. Susan seems stunned to hear that she's spoken to her sister but is quick to reassure her that Paul will find Kate and she'll be on the first plane home.
SUSAN: She's not going to abandon you.
(Taking Sophie's hand)
SUSAN: Don't worry sweetheart, this will all get sorted out.
It's Sonya's turn to watch DVD's now as Toadie returns and agrees for them both to go get some fertility tests done even if he feels the doctors are just going to laugh at them!
TOADIE: Whatever happens we'll deal with it together.
Dominic is suggesting to Kate how they can tour Vietnam but she's not paying much attention and eventually tells him about what's happening with Sophie and that Paul wants her to home to sort it out. He tells her its okay if she wants to go home but she doesn't want to go home – she's fed up sorting out problems!
KATE: I don't want to do that anymore. I need to start thinking about my own life, what I want… and what I want is to go to Vietnam with you.
Dominic seems happy to hear that especially after the great couple of weeks they've had but gives her the option again of whether she wants to go to Vietnam with him or not.

The police officer is urging Paul to hurry up and finish packing when Kate arrives. He's relived she's made the right decision to come home.
KATE: Paul I'm not going home with you. I want to stay here in Port Douglas for one more day then I'm going to go to Vietnam with Dominic.
Paul takes her out into the garden away from the listening officer, to express his annoyance that she isn't coming home to face her responsibilities but instead going to run around Asia with a guy she's just met! Kate reminds him of Sophie's wishes and that she has Susan now.
PAUL: Susan looking after her is just temporary.
KATE: No its not, she agreed to be her guardian.
(This seems news to Paul)
PAUL: She what?!
KATE: That's what Sophie told me when I spoke to her. And maybe that's exactly what needed to happen. I mean Susan's going to do a much better job than I ever could. We tried Paul and it just didn't work for either of us. She's my little sister, I don't want her to hate me but if we keep going on like this then… I want her to be happy but I want to be happy too so I think staying away from her is the best thing I can do for the both of us right now.
Paul seems gobsmacked with what Kate has said as she walks away from him through the house.
