- Sonya and Toadie's couch collapses.
- Audrey becomes ill.
- Mike and Emilia hang out and have fun.
- Lucas tells Toadie that Emilia is the one.
- Lucas tells Emilia he loves her.
Lucas is out jogging. Emilia is sitting by the lake, deep in thought. Michael is in the Harold's Store, deep in thought. Lucas looks a bit angry.
It's a very hot day and Sonya is standing in front of the fan. Lucas comes round to see if they have a spare fan.
Tash tries to snap Michael out of his trance- like state by waving her hand in front of his eyes. She wants to know what he was thinking about.
Lucas tells Sonya that he told Emilia he loved her and she didn't say it back. Sonya sympathises.
Michael asks Tash how she'd feel if he started seeing someone. She wants to know who it is, but Michael won't say. She tells him to go for it.
Lucas is berating himself for saying the "L" word. Sonya says that everyone has their own pace, and all is not lost.
Susan tells Summer that Audrey has died. Summer gives Susan a hug.
SUSAN: I'm going to miss her. She was a funny little thing.
SUMMER: She was a great dog.
Karl says they'd better get a move on with the burial - poor Audrey is still in the laundry. Susan point blank refuses to bury Audrey in the back yard and starts talking about pet cemetaries. A row develops, but Susan is stubborn. Karl tells her to act quickly.
Lucas sees Emilia and goes over to say hello. They make smalltalk, then Lucas apologises for putting her on the spot last night. She insists that it's fine - he just caught her by surprise. He tells her there's no pressure - he's not going anywhere.
EMILIA: I appreciate it. And I appreciate what you said last night too.
LUCAS: Alright...good. That's good!
They agree to meet later. But when Lucas has gone, Emilia looks a little troubled.
Lucas tells Michael that he professed his love for Emilia last night. Michael is a bit shocked. Lucas thinks he and Emilia have a real connection.
LUCAS: I haven't felt this way about anyone since...well, since Steph.
When Lucas has gone, Michael texts Emilia, "Can we talk?"
Michael and Emilia meet by the gazebo.
MICHAEL: I hope I haven't given you the wrong idea. After everything that's happened between us, all the history, it'd never work.
EMILIA: I- I thought from what you said last night, you wanted to...
MICHAEL: Yeah, I'm sorry I wasn't clear about it.
Emilia looks upset.
EMILIA: Is there something you're not telling me?
MICHAEL: Why would there be?
EMILIA: I got none of this last night.
MICHAEL: I'm really sorry, Em. It's for the best. See you later on.
Michael walks away, leaving Emilia looking very confused.
Sonya has set up a "conception calendar" website for her and Toadie. They kiss, happy in their relationship. As they kiss, the beanbag they're lying on bursts and the polystyrene beads within go everywhere!
SONYA: There is something we have to do, we have to get rid of these stupid things!
TOADIE: No, no, no, I can fix these with...um, gaffer tape.
SONYA: You are not fixing these with gaffer tape!
She grabs the beanbags off Toadie and marches them out of the house, shrugging off Toadie's protests.
SONYA: This is the couch thing, only worse, I should have done this weeks ago! Get the vacuum cleaner!
TOADIE:(forlornly, to himself) I love these bean bags.
Emilia is brooding.
Lucas is working and Emilia watches him from across the street. She comes over to talk to him. She apologises for last night and kisses him. Then she gives him the spare key to her place.
EMILIA: I want you to know that I'm serious about us.
LUCAS: Yeah? That's um...that's pretty cool!
He looks really pleased and says he'll get her a spare key for his place too.
It's hard rubbish collection day.
Karl and Susan reminisce about Audrey. Poor Audrey is currently entombed in an esky being carried by Karl. Karl tells Susan that they have to sort out Audrey's interrment quickly because of the heat.
KARL: I understand you want to do something special for Audrey, but I found a beautiful spot by a gum tree in the back yard, just come and have a look...
KARL: You're being unreasonable.
SUSAN: I want her to be somewhere that people can visit!
KARL: Is that what this is about? I would never stop you visiting Audrey's grave, no matter what!
SUSAN: You can't promise that!
KARL: I think I just did.
SUSAN: But you can't! What happens when the divorce gets underway?
KARL:(crossly) So you think I would stop you visiting Audrey's grave because you got the family silver!
SUSAN: No, no, that's not what I mean! We might have to sell the house.
KARL: Well, we'll just have to do what we can to stop that happening.
SUSAN: But we can't be sure that it won't.
SUSAN:(getting upset) I want Audrey somewhere that I can visit her anytime!
KARL: OK, you are upset, you are not thinking rationally.
SUSAN: And you're not listening...
Karl puts down the esky and says he's off to get a shovel. Susan carries the esky over to Toadie's place while she runs in to ask Sonya if she can borrow Toadie's car. Sonya can see she's upset and takes her into the house for a cold drink.
As they walk away, the hard rubbish wagon comes up the street.
Susan tells Toadie desperately that she just needs some time to make arrangements for Audrey. Toadie thinks that Karl should be involved in the decision, but gives her his car keys anyway.
When Susan returns to the pavement, all the hard rubbish has gone, including Audrey in the esky. She looks around in alarm.
KARL:(coming over) Susan! I'm sorry about before. Look, take another day if you need to. You're quite right about the house, who knows what either of us will be doing in six months.
SUSAN:(panicked) Something's happened!
KARL: No, I just thought about it while I was talking to Kyle...
SUSAN: No, no, no, something's happened with Audrey!
She explains that the esky has disappeared.
KARL: Hard rubbish. The hard rubbish!
KARL: Come on, we might be able to catch them.
They jump in the car and set off in pursuit.
Karl has managed to find the wagon. He and Susan beg the man to let them look in the back of the wagon. He is very busy and isn't keen. Karl manages the bribe him with $70 though!
Karl climbs into the back of the wagon and manages to find the esky. Susan is very relieved!
Toadie and Sonya have got a new couch. Toadie is very hostile towards it(!) and reluctantly tries it out.
TOADIE:(sitting down) It's a bit lumpy.
SONYA: Lumpy! We spent the last month on beanbags!
TOADIE: Comfortable bean bags...
SONYA: Beanbags, Jarrod!
Sonya loves the couch and says they could redecorate to match the couch! Toadie protests in horror, but Sonya thinks it's a great idea!
Sonya gets a call to come down to the Garden.
Karl and Susan are burying Audrey. So she should be really safe until they decide to bulldoze the place for a development(!)
SUSAN: Bye, bye, Audrey.
Karl apologises for not listening to Susan before, and they have a bit of a hug.
Lucas and Emilia come in. Lucas goes off for a shower and as he passes Kate's room, is shocked to see that Kate's room is all packed up.
Lucas is rining Kate's phone.
Kate's phone is rining, lying on the sand somewhere. A stranger picks it up and answers it.
LUCAS: Who's this?
STRANGER: Er...no, I just found the phone on the ground, I picked it up.
LUCAS: OK, that's my friend's phone - where are you, mate?
STRANGER: I'm on the beach.
LUCAS: What beach?
But the signal is breaking up.
He ends the call, and we see that he is on a long stretch of golden sand, a long way from Erinsborough.
- Lucas telling Emilia he loves her.
- Emilia spending time with Lucas and Michael sulking in the background.
- Emilia tells Michael she's with Lucas.
- Michael shuts the door to the classroom with him and Emilia inside.
