Recap
- Paul buying Andrew the 'Mr Pickles' car
- Callum feeling left out of Sophie's life
- Mal telling Karl that Susan needs more time away
- Summer stumbling upon Karl crying
Number 28
Summer and Karl talk about what they have planned for the day. Karl's on his way to work but has a game of golf with some colleagues afterwards so he's not sure what time he'll be home.
SUMMER: That sounds like fun.
KARL: Well it would be, except I'm playing against the Head of Surgery and the Head of Medicine, so I have to let them win.
SUMMER: Surely they can handle a bit of competition?
KARL: No, this is doctors we're talking about. Their ego has no bounds.
SUMMER: I'll remember that next time I talk to Boyd.
Karl's about to leave when Paul walks in to ask if he's heard from Susan yet. She still hasn't finished the article on the Patient Advocacy Program. Karl curtly informs Paul that Susan needs time alone as the patient she was interviewing has died. Summer shoots a worried look Karl's way as he heads out the door.
Number 24/Ramsay Street
Sophie strums away at her guitar while Andrew and Summer meet up with one another in the street (and Random Rolie the black cat, randomly rolls around). Summer confides in Andrew about Karl, telling him that he was crying last night. Andrew says Paul was the same when Rebecca left, but the best thing Summer can do is give Karl some space. They're on their way to Harold's when Paul calls out to them from #22, asking Andrew why he's not taking the car. Andrew makes up something about not wanting to waste petrol, but Paul calls his bluff by giving him some money.
Number 30
Callum searches the house for Toadie and Sonya but is disappointed to see a note from them, letting him know they've gone to work. Cal rings Sophie to see what she's up to and is pleased when she invites him over after breakfast.
Erinsborough Hospital
Rhys teases Dani about her date with Kyle last night, but Dani just smiles and says they had a nice time eating pizza together. Noticing Karl go into his office, Rhys follows him in and says he needs a favour. He wants to be introduced to Martin Chambers, the Head of Surgery, but Karl isn't keen on the idea. He informs Rhys that he's too busy to network on his behalf.
Number 24
Sophie invites Callum in and asks for his thoughts on her playing compared to the audio Noah recorded for her. Callum admits Sophie's good - but she's not that good yet. She keeps practicing and Callum tries to join in by playing drums on the tabletop, but that just puts Sophie off and she asks him to keep quiet. Soph starts to play again but Cal steps past her, telling her he'll be back soon.
Garage
Andrew drives the Pickles- mobile into the driveway and leaps out, calling for "Christopher", while Summer complains that she's hungry. Chris appears and Andrew asks what can be done to make his car less of a monstrosity. Chris suggests a few things, including a paint job, but everything costs more money than Andrew has at the moment. Summer invites Chris to breakfast with them, but Andrew can't stop thinking about his car dilemma. He says he could burn it or crash it and then claim insurance, but Summer tells him not to be stupid.
Lassiter's Carpark
Andrew and Summer get out of the car just as Callum strolls by, pulling a trolley with a drum kit on it. He tells them he got it from the Men's Shed, promising them he didn't steal it. The word 'steal' rattles around in Andrew's brain and he gets an idea. He tells Summer to go on ahead while he looks for his phone in the car, but when she's gone he leaves the keys in the ignition and the window down. Car thieves of Erinsborough, today is your lucky day... If you're into clown mobiles.
First Commercial Break
Harold's Store
The teens sit down and Summer asks Chris what he's ordering. Chris just wants something quick at first, but when he hears it's Paul's shout he goes all out. Karl stops to say hello on his coffee run and Summer suggests a driving lesson if he's home early from golf. Karl nods and then tells Andrew he saw his car in the lot and that it needs air in the tyres. Andrew just forces a smile, annoyed that it hasn't been stolen yet.
Number 30
Callum happily shows Sophie his newly acquired drum kit, but she isn't as enthusiastic as him. Cal says they can jam together now and that he'll help Sophie lug her guitar and amp over. Sophie doesn't really want to practise with him, but she doesn't want to hurt his feelings either so she goes along with it.
Erinsborough Hospital
Dani gives Karl some paperwork to finalise, but Karl clams up when he realises it's Jim Dolan's file. He says he'll hang onto the file for the time being, just as Rhys appears to give Dani some prescriptions to fill. Dani also asks if Karl has any prescriptions but Karl's now distracted and gets snappy with her. Dani persists, so Karl hands over a bunch of papers without double checking them. When Dani exits, Karl can't help flashing back to Jim's last day in the hospital.
Lassiter's Carpark
When Summer and Andrew walk back to the carpark they realise the Pickles- mobile is gone. Andrew has to pretend he's disappointed for Summer's sake, but when she's not looking he can't help a smirk spreading across his face.
Erinsborough Hospital
Dani calls Karl and Rhys over to the front desk to let them know one of them filled a prescription out wrong. Very wrong in fact, as there was an insulin dosage on there ten times over the recommended amount. It becomes clear that Karl's to blame, but he's surprised when Rhys steps in to take the blame for his mistake.
Second Commercial Break
Ramsay Street
Andrew gets off the phone to the police and lets Summer know he has to fill out an incident report. But he's in for a shock when he gets to his driveway and finds the Pickles- mobile parked there safe and sound. Paul appears and lets Andrew know how 'lucky' it was he found the car, letting him know he left the keys in it. Andrew has to feign relief and thanks his dad. Paul plays along with the game, but it looks as though he may have figured out his son's scheme.
Number 30
Sophie's playing her song really fast and Callum's finding it hard to keep up with her on the drums. Sophie gets fed up and suggests to Cal that they spend time apart practicing until they can merge the beats together. Cal thinks she means in a different room, but Sophie was thinking more along the lines of different houses. Pretending he's cool with that idea, Cal says he'll help her take her stuff back to #24.
Erinsborough Hospital
Karl thanks Rhys for covering for him earlier considering the stress he's been under lately, but it turns out Rhys has an ulterior motive. In return for saving his bacon, he wants Karl to invite him to the golf game this afternoon with Martin Chambers. Karl doesn't appreciate being used as a pawn, but Rhys says he's not trying to bribe him. "I just scratched your back, now you scratch mine".
Number 30/Number 24
Callum plays the drums in his house while Sophie plays the guitar in hers. While Sophie's having fun, Callum just looks more and more depressed until he finally gives up and pushes the drum kit aside. There's no use playing now since his goal was mainly to spend time with Sophie.
Third Commercial Break
Erinsborough Hospital
Karl tells Rhys that he doesn't appreciate being manipulated, but Rhys points out that Karl said nothing when he covered up his mistake. Karl says that can be easily rectified, but Rhys says he doesn't have to do that. Karl reminds him that there are ways to network without exploiting your colleagues, but Rhys says he just needs an invite to the game - he'll handle things from there.

NOAH: I'm playing tonight.
SOPHIE: I'll be there for sure.
NOAH: Alright but it's in the city. Maybe Kate can bring you?
(Karl tries to put Rhys off his networking idea)
KARL: You know you're wasting your time don't you? They don't want to talk shop. In fact, it's frowned upon.
RHYS: I want a spot on that surgery program and I'm going to get it.
KARL: People don't like to be manipulated and used.
