Recap
- Michael telling Tash she can run her own life
- Jade inviting her client Michelle to stay at #26
- Sonya encouraging Jade to ask Kyle out
Number 26
Jade eventually works up the courage to suggest a dinner with Kyle that isn't eaten in front of the TV. Kyle's keen, but wonders why they're being so formal, so Jade says she thought they could discuss some new housemate rules before Michelle moved in. Kyle says he'll pick up takeaway and Jade gives him a cheery thumbs up.
Number 30
The gesture immediately haunts Jade, though, as Sonya soon finds out.
JADE: I gave him the thumbs up, Son. I mean who does that? Who do I think I am, Tom Cruise? It was like I had a brain transplant!
Sonya hands her sister the wine glasses she came over to borrow and Jade calms down enough to tell Sonya she looks nice for her loan meeting. Sonya assures Jade the dinner will be fine and it only feels stressful because her feelings must run deep. Jade wonders what she should do, and Sonya tells her to "feel the fear and do it anyway"... complete with a thumbs up.
Ramsay Street
Chris is yammering away about how hungry he is but Tash is distracted by an anonymous text that says, 'U R Such A Prawn!'. Noticing her confused face, Chris asks if Tash is OK, but she just laughs off the message and says people can be weird.
Number 32
Content with a stack of sandwiches, Chris asks Tash what she's doing for her English Lit assignment that's due in tomorrow. But Tash surprises him when she says she hasn't started it yet. Andrew drops by to let them know his dad's out for the night so his place is free to hang out. Tash is keen but Chris says he has to go home and finish his schoolwork.
Number 26
Jade's sorting through the clean washing pile, looking for something to wear to dinner, when Michelle stops by with a box of belongings. Jade looks aghast when Michelle places a big ugly dolphin statue called Mr Watson in the middle of the coffee table. She tells Jade that she knows he's kooky but he's very special to her - a story she'll tell Jade another time. Walking into the kitchen, Michelle sees the table set for dinner and wonders if Jade's preparing for a date. But Jade blurts out that they have an official housemate dinner every second Tuesday of every month.
Harold's Store
Sonya stops Kyle for a chat while she's doing some shopping.
KYLE: What's on the menu?
SONYA: Chickpeas, tofu, spinach.
KYLE: ... Toadie's a lucky man.
While he's there, Kyle decides to show Sonya the quote he put together for the Community Garden. Sonya's pleased with how low the costs are and tells Kyle she's just come from her loan meeting and will hear the verdict in the morning. She's about to return to her shopping when her sisterly curiosity kicks in and she asks Kyle about his dinner with Jade. Kyle says they're just talking about Michelle, but makes Sonya smile when he says he's going to miss having just he and Jade in the house.
Number 26
Sonya dumps her bag on the table (nearly knocking over Mr Watson in the process) and orders Jade out of her room to show off her outfit. Wearing a dress, heels and her hair in a side ponytail, Jade feels too overdone, but Sonya says she looks great. Jade shows her the kitchen set- up but looks worried when Sonya asks how she's going to bring up the idea of dating.
JADE: Getting this far was really hard. I'm just going to wing it... OK, what would you do?
SONYA: Um, something like, 'Kyle we've known each other for a while now and over that time we've become friends. Close friends'.
JADE: OK, sorry, did this work with Toadie?
SONYA: I'm not good under pressure!
Kyle barges in and immediately fixates on the dolphin statue, calling it ugly and saying that it's not staying. When he finally notices Jade all he says is, "New hairdo? Nice!" before walking off. Jade glares at her sister: "You suck".
Number 22
Andrew tells Summer and Tash the pizzas are on their way. They start talking about allowance - how most of Andrew's cash from Paul goes on Summer, and how Summer gets sent a regular allowance from her dad. But they're surprised when Tash says she's looking for a job at the moment. She explains to them she had a 'chat' with her dad about nearly being eighteen and wanting her independence. Summer asks if everything's OK but Tash says it couldn't be better - she can do what she likes and her dad doesn't say anything about it.
Number 26
Jade puts on some music while Kyle cracks open a bottle of champers. When they sit down to dinner, Jade tries not to appear too nervous while Kyle tells her a funny about his mate Honga's old housemate. They're getting along well and mucking around when Jade decides to take the plunge and tell Kyle about her feelings. Deciding that winging it isn't going to work, Jade starts to rattle off Sonya's speech from earlier, but just when she gets to the most important part - Michelle turns the light on and barges in. She happily tells them she's made a cake to share (with 'The Three Amigos' iced on it). Kyle's excited but Jade looks like she wants to shove the cake in Michelle's face. The moment is well and truly ruined.
First Commercial Break
Number 22
While Summer and Andrew are being all couply in the kitchen, Tash checks Facebook on her laptop and is confused again when she gets more 'prawn' comments on her newsfeed. Andrew gets a call from Paul, letting him know he'll be home soon, so Andrew says the party's over. But Tash tells them they can just move the venue to her place.
Number 32/Number 30
Tash yells out insults to Andrew and Summer while they play Just Dance on the Wii. Michael stands in the hallway looking annoyed, but doesn't tell Tash to cut it out. Instead he says he's going next door for a while. Tash just leaps up and pushes Summer out of the way so she can have a turn at dancing.
The music from the game must be pretty loud because Sonya's doing her own little dance to it in the lounge room when Michael stops by. He pretends he's there on the premise of collecting invoices for the Community Garden, but Sonya can see he's over the noise and invites him to stay for a cuppa.
Meanwhile, Tash is still dancing away like she hasn't got a care in the world leaving Andrew and Summer quite bored. They decide to head home, but Chris arrives just as they're leaving so he becomes Tash's new dance buddy.
Number 30
Jade stabs at her piece of cake while oblivious Michelle chats away to Kyle. Jade hints that Michelle should go home and get a good night's sleep for their training session in the morning, but Kyle decides the girls should have some 'chat time' while he does the dishes. In the lounge room, Jade gets even more tense when Michelle starts to chat about guys and types and dating until Jade eventually has enough. She grabs the unwashed wine glasses from Kyle and charges out to return them to #30.
Second Commercial Break
Number 30
Jade barges in and starts screaming about how much of a "complete total idiot" she is. Sonya chases her around the house before Jade eventually slumps onto the couch to continue her rant. She tells Sonya how Michelle ruined the night, and how she hates the fact she's turned into this crying, girly- girl feelings monster tonight.
SONYA: If you let this go you'll regret it. It's OK to be a bit nervous. It's OK to be a bit vulnerable.
JADE: No it's not OK, Son! Look at me! Look at what I'm wearing, how I've been carrying on. This is not me.
SONYA: Maybe this is you when you really like someone?
JADE: No it isn't. These feelings are just stupid and I'm ignoring them until they go away.
Number 32
Tash makes sure the game's extra noisy when her dad gets back. But when Michael starts talking to Chris about his English Lit assignment she looks a little put out that her dad's not showing any interest in her homework (or lack thereof). Michael says he's going to get something to eat, but Tash just shuts off the game and drags Chris out, saying they'll eat at Charlie's. Michael calls out for them to have fun, but his cheery facade falls when they're gone.
Charlie's Bar
After they finish playing pool Tash suggests they get another drink, but Chris says he should be heading home. He offers to walk her home too, especially since she doesn't have any cash on her to spend more time at the bar, but Tash says she wants to stay. When Chris leaves, Tash notices a group of guys walk in (one of them, Stew, is the older brother of Dean, Callum's nemesis), and thinks she'll flirt her way into getting some free food and drink. But she's in for a shock when they start laughing at her photo on their phones and calling her a prawn.
STEW: You know what it means, right? You keep the body but you chuck away the head!
Wounded by their words, Tash grabs her bag and runs out of the bar.
Third Commercial Break
Lassiter's Complex/Number 32
Tash is in tears as she makes her way through the complex. At home, Michael looks through an old scrapbook Tash made that has drawings and photos of her and her dad. It's starting to rain back at Lassiter's, but Tash doesn't care, sinking to the ground in front of the law firm. She takes out a mirror and looks at her tear- stained face, unable to get the hurtful 'prawn' taunts out of her mind.

(Tomorrow on Neighbours)
SONYA: I submitted a loan application for the garden.
LUCAS: And this morning they knocked you back.
SONYA: This was my chance to prove myself.
(Chris finds out about Lucas's cashed- up status)
CHRIS: Woah! What did you do?
LUCAS: It's my dad's. He's still testing me even now.
CHRIS: You could do something good with it, though. Give it to someone who needs it.
(Lucas looks at an article about the Community Garden for lease)
(Tash and Michael are warring with one another at school)
MICHAEL: Have you got your assignment?
TASH: No I'm just not doing it.
MICHAEL: Are you trying to get expelled?
TASH: What do you care?
(Chris thinks she's crazy but Tash has bigger things to worry about, like Dean)
TASH: Listen, skidmark!
DEAN: Yeah, prawn?
(Tash looks at photos of her nose and is upset)
