- Lucas being offended that Mark is keeping an eye on him
- Declan telling Paul that getting Rebecca away from him is worth anything
- Paul causing trouble and getting Michael suspended from school
- Paul being shocked that Rebecca wants to start divorce proceedings – including dividing assets
Sonya and Toad are having coffee when Declan walks over to say hi. He's been job and house hunting but without much luck. Toadie offers to help in any way he can, but unfortunately, as much as he wants to, he has no grounds to sue Paul for harassment.
Rebecca gets off the phone with Lyn who's agreed to help her out with something mysterious. Rebecca takes Indy off Declan for a cuddle and her chirpy mood is not lost on Dec as he suspiciously asks what she's got planned. She confides that Paul is making everyone's life miserable so she's going to do something about it. She waves at lawyer Toad and he nods knowingly.
Susan is on the phone with Karl making sure that he'll be meeting Zeke at the airport. She's exasperated that he's asking about the calendar even though he's thousands of kilometres away! She tells Zeke that Karl tried to pack a box of them to try to sell in London. Speaking of packing, Susan asks that Zeke leaves plenty of room and he's very suspicious as to why.
Paul arrives to pay off the newspaper's coffee account and he'll grab a coffee while he's there. Lyn insists on payment first.
LYN: Oh, well you see it's my store and it's my policy. If you don't like it you could always get coffee are Charlie's – I can't guarantee it won't be bitter, though.
Susan and Zeke are mightily amused in the background. Paul grudgingly hands over his card and Lyn swipes it finds that it's been cancelled (or at least she says it has! I suspect this would be the mysterious favour she's doing for Bec). She grabs a pair of scissors and gleefully cuts up the card and hands the pieces back to Paul. He glares at her before leaving and Lyn is beyond thrilled.
Paul has gone to the only other place that sells coffee and he orders a latte. Rebecca walks past behind him to tell him that they only take cash. Paul wants her to know that there are things on the financial side that she didn't know about even when they were married and she counters that Toadie will find them. So Paul decides to fight back – he calls Tim Collins while Rebecca eye rolls.
Andrew is on the phone with Tash as he walks in and then he quickly hangs up when he spots his father. Andrew wants to know whether he can get his job at Lassiter's back but Paul is not interested in listening to his son as he's trying to get Tim on the phone. Andrew asks again but Paul ignores him and walks away as soon as he gets Tim on the line. Meanwhile, Rebecca has witnessed the whole thing.
Kate and Sophie are playing Frisbee when Mark and Declan walk by. Zeke comes by as well and Declan produces a shopping list for him. Mark susses out that Zeke appears to be picking up souvenirs for people, so he wonders if Zeke could get him a TARDIS. Declan has no idea what it is and Zeke is surprised that Mark is a Dr. Who geek. Lucas is out jogging and Zeke asks if he needs anything but he pointedly looks at Mark when saying that he doesn't need anything from anyone.
Kate wants to know what the tension was about but Mark claims it's nothing.
Harold's Store – Exterior
Kate and Sophie are teasing Mark about being a Dr. Who geek before they go into Harold's to grab coffees. Mark flags down a passing Sonya for a chat about Lucas. Sonya tells Mark that distracting Lucas won't make his problems go away. He should try to support Lucas rather than trying to fix him. Mark thanks her for the advice.
Rebecca and Lyn are standing around staring at Paul at a distance with disdain and suspicion. Andrew is curious why Paul is sitting in Charlie's, close to Rebecca, but Paul is keen to keep an eye on things. Andrew brings up the job at Lassiter's again and Paul assures him that he'll find something since Andrew helped him out with causing trouble for Michael. Andrew is happy to help Paul further by spying on Michael, but he starts to become less cooperative when he finds that Paul wants to exploit the school- principal's- daughter- is- pregnant angle. Andrew leaves when he discovers that Paul is happy to ruin Michael at the expense of his own son.
Charlie's – Exterior
Rebecca has followed Andrew out but he doesn't really want to talk to her. She's not happy that he and Declan have been caught up in everything and she tells him that she still cares for him. He finally stops walking and turns to look at her. She tells him that Michael has let her know the situation at school.
ANDREW: And you blame me for it.
REBECCA: No, I don't blame you. I think you're in a really difficult position; you're trying to support your dad and you've also got Tash and the baby to worry about.
He looks thoughtful that she's actually seeing things from his position unlike his father was, but when she offers assistance for anything he tells her that she gave up any right to help when she walked out. When he leaves, Rebecca calls Dec.
Kate and Soph are buying coffees just as Zeke is buying a drink. Lyn wants to know if Zeke can grab a sample of these little boiled lollies as she'd like to stock them. Kate wants miniatures of Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, and Zeke politely tells them that he'll add it to his list.
Mark broaches the subject of Lucas with Kate – would she let him move back in? Mark thinks that he's making an effort but Kate is adamant that she won't let him back.
Kate, Sophie and Mark have returned and Kate asks what everyone feels like for dinner. They've got chicken, and Sophie brings up the fact that Lucas likes chicken. Soph is annoyed that she has no say in the matter of Lucas.
KATE: We've talked about this.
SOPHIE: No, *you* talked and you didn't listen.
Sophie is angry that Kate isn't giving Lucas a chance and she points out that Kate didn't even open Lucas' present. Kate still doesn't really feel like she's being unreasonable but she goes to open the present. It's a jigsaw puzzle with a photo of Lucas, Kate, Sophie and Lou in it.
Toadie has come by with some legal documents for Rebecca. She glances over at Paul and Sonya offers to kick him out, but Rebecca says that it's not worth the trouble since he's the landlord and all.
Andrew comes in to see Declan who has summoned him for a chat. Andrew realises that Rebecca's asked Declan to talk to him but Dec clarifies that it's just them – what happened with Rebecca and Paul is between Rebecca and Paul. He wants Andrew to know that he'll be a father soon but he won't have to deal with it alone.
Later, Paul is looking rather threatened at seeing Andrew talking to Declan so the second Andrew gets up, Paul waves him over. Paul tries to butter him up by saying HR has a job available whenever Andrew wants to start, but it's too little too late as Andrew tells his dad to shove the job. He goes to thank Rebecca for getting Declan to chat with him and she once again offers her help which this time, he thanks her for. Paul is looking put out and sarcastically comments to Rebecca on their cosy little family reunion.
REBECCA: I'm not trying to score points, Paul. Andrew needs some support.
PAUL: What, you're saying I'm not capable?
Paul threatens that she's picked the wrong person to play dirty with.
Lyn brings over some cake and offers condolences to Toad and Sonya about Callum's gran. Sonya is looking quite upset and Toadie thinks it's because she's thinking about when they'll hear back from Robyn. Sonya spies Lucas and goes to chat with him.
Sonya tells Lucas not to burn all his bridges but he thinks it's already too late. He comments that Sonya has got herself together (as they glance over at Toadie who is scooping all the blueberries on Sonya's plate onto his own). Sonya leaves when she sees Kate.
Harold's Store – Exterior
Kate thanks Lucas for his present and after a few awkward beats, she asks him to move back in. She's not apologising for anything but she is happy to offer him his home back with conditions like absolutely no more gambling and to talk to them if he's ever in trouble.
Zeke is putting the final touches to his packing when Susan walks in with a box. Zeke thinks that she asked for plenty of room because she wants a list of things, much like everyone else, but he's touched when he sees that she's brought a box of his favourite foods (and Rachel's, and a few things for Karl too). They hug it out as Kate and Lucas return, and they hug again as Kate, Mark and Zeke head off to the airport. Lucas tells Susan to stay for dinner since she would otherwise be going to an empty home.
Number 24 – Night
Rebecca is also over for dinner for some reason, and Lucas is worriedly commenting that he should have ordered takeaway when he sees Rebecca prettying up the table and setting out napkins. Bec gets a quick call from Michael who can't make dinner, and then Dec gets a call from a job he applied and is rejected for. He realises that Paul must have gotten to the HR manager at Lassiter's who was the reference he was relying on, and also that Paul must have been behind the housing rejections as well.
Number 24 – Night
Dec is on the phone with Helen the HR manager who tells him that Paul threatened to fire her if she stood by Declan. There's a knock on the door and a man has come to serve Rebecca. Paul is suing her for “mental hardship”. She's not really in the mood for dinner anymore so Bec and Indy leave to go back to Michael's for an early night. After they leave, Declan calls the cavalry.
DECLAN: Oliver, its Dec. We're in trouble, man. It's bad, we need your help.
