- Paul having revenge- fuelled thoughts about Rebecca
- Michael promising Rebecca he won't let Paul hurt her
- Tash stomping on Andrew's old watch
- Tash conning Andrew into spending his savings on the baby
Number 32 - Natasha's Room
Tash asks Andrew for the time and then wonders what happened to his old watch. Andrew has a flashback to his night with Summer and quickly changes the topic, showing Tash the list he's made of all the baby things they'll need. Andrew then tells her that he's looking into a trainee position with Eden Hills Music. If he got the full- time job he could afford anything they wanted. Tash pretends to be interested but isn't happy that Andrew might not be as financially ruined as she planned.
Charlie's Bar
Susan's having dinner with Lyn, Summer and Charlie but things get a bit awkward when they approach Rebecca to pay the bill and don't know how to act around her. Declan stops by to let his mum know he's got a job performance review in the morning. He's worried that Paul's going to sway the board into a vote of no- confidence on his behalf, but Rebecca's convinced the board will be on Dec's side. No one can deny the good job he's done the past six months.
Number 32
Michael tries to engage Tash into a conversation about dinner but she dutifully ignores him. He's even further discouraged when Andrew returns from the shops with burgers for himself and Tash and completely ignores him too. Michael announces he's going for a drive but Tash spitefully retorts that he should say hello to Rebecca for her, "and make sure her husband's not around". Michael warns Tash she's out of line, but Tash couldn't care less.
Charlie's Bar
Declan finishes his meal and is about to head off to pick up India when Paul walks into the bar. Paul's all smirky about tomorrow's meeting, but his face falls slightly when Declan says he's already spoke to all the board members and they seem pleased with him. Declan wins another 'sucked in' point when Michael walks in and he happily directs him Rebecca's way, much to Paul's chagrin.
Rebecca asks Michael how things are going at home but he admits that's why he's at the bar - to see a friendly face. Michael asks Rebecca the same question and her response is quite similar.
REBECCA: Apart from my friends being awkward and my ex trying to destroy my son's livelihood, I'm great.
MICHAEL: (smiling) You're amazing.
REBECCA: That's why you love me isn't it. We will get through this, you know that. We just have to stick together.
Number 32 - Natasha's Room - Next Morning
Lyn brings in some folded washing for Tash and lets her know she's there for her if she needs anything. Tash smiles and thanks her, but the scowl soon returns when she spies Andrew's watch she crushed. Michael asks for a word with Tash, but when she tries to rush off, Michael insists she sit down and listen to him. He attempts to have a heart- to- heart about Rebecca, admitting that the way the relationship came about wasn't ideal, but they do want to be together. Tash is viciously unforgiving, though, and uses her own hurt about Summer and Andrew to remind her dad that he and Rebecca cheated on Paul and she'll never forgive that.
Charlie's Bar
Michael catches up with Rebecca and Declan before Dec's meeting. He tells them that Tash was still firmly on Paul's side when he chatted to her before but Dec's all, "Has she met Paul Robinson?" Rebecca says that Tash will understand in time, but Michael's worried about not being there for her during the pregnancy. Meanwhile, Dec's taken a call from India's day care centre and is alarmed to learn his daughter's had an accident.
Day Care Centre
One of the workers assures Declan and Rebecca that India's fine and she doesn't know who called them. She's spoken to all of the staff members and they're certain there's been no incidents today. Declan and Rebecca are relieved India's OK, but confused all the same. "Surely Paul wouldn't sink that low," Rebecca muses.
Lassiter's Complex
The Napiers return just in time to see Paul wave off the board members after their meeting. Paul snootily informs Declan that he's been reinstated as general manager of the hotel - after all, he only took that six month sabbatical to save his marriage. Declan's annoyed and Rebecca's outraged, telling Paul he just can't sack her son. But Paul takes great delight in throwing a uniform at Declan and telling him he'll be working as their "front desk pin- up boy".
First Commercial Break
Lassiter's Complex
Declan returns after changing out of his suit, but Rebecca reminds him he doesn't have to go through with the job. He could always work in Charlie's for a while. But Declan says he doesn't want to take a job there if it means another worker getting sacked - he's just going to have to man- up and do this for India's sake. Declan reminds her they can't let Paul get to them, but Rebecca still feels awful that Paul's putting her son through the wringer.
Harold's Store
Susan and Lyn are having a natter about Rebecca but Summer thinks they're being a bit gossipy. Meanwhile, Tash has found Andrew to torture him some more but is intrigued to learn he's already bought a pram which will be delivered tomorrow. He's in a good mood because he got a callback for the trainee position he was after. Tash tells him she'll help him to practise for the interview, but she's got her bitchy scheming face on.
Number 32
Tash pretends to be the interviewer and asks Andrew some questions about his personal life. She brings up the fact that he'll be away long hours and wonders how he'll make it work with a baby. Andrew says he'll find a way, and that Tash will be around for the child, but Tash angrily says she doesn't want Andrew to just "dump her" with a newborn. Andrew tries to say he's doing this for their financial future, but Tash just turns it into a guilt trip and asks him to put his career on hold for a few years. Andrew looks tormented.
Lassiter's Complex
Rebecca finds Declan sweeping and asks if he wants her to pick Indy up from day care, but their conversation is interrupted when Paul tells Declan to clean up some vomit in the restaurant bathroom. Declan tries to play it calm and pretend he's not effected, but when Paul makes a few snide remarks about Rebecca, Declan grabs him by the collar and roughs him up. Paul coldly tells Declan to unhand him, so Declan says "shove your job" and walks off with Rebecca.
Second Commercial Break
Charlie's Bar
Summer (and Charlie) has persuaded Lyn to have dessert in Charlie's so she can clear the air with Rebecca. Things are still awkward between them at first, but Lyn takes Rebecca's hand and tells her she's welcome at #32 anytime she likes. Rebecca thanks her and says it's nice to know she's still got friends. Lyn reminds her that they all know what Paul's like and they're there for her.
Andrew's looking over the Eden Hills Music pamphlet when he notices Declan scouring through the job section in the newspaper. Declan curtly informs him that he quit Lassiter's because of "issues" with management. Andrew can't understand why he'd do that when he has India to think of, but Declan just says "life's too short to jump through hoops".
Number 32
Michael doesn't care if Tash is still angry with him, she still has to do her chores and help him clean up the house. She's saved when Andrew stops by to let her know he's not going to the callback for the trainee position. He's willing to put his career on hold for a while to take care of their family. Tash hugs him and smiles evilly to herself.
Charlie's Bar
Paul sees Declan and tells him to pass on the message to Rebecca that the corporate lunches she booked at Lassiter's have been moved elsewhere. Declan scoffs at Paul and says he's pathetic - his little mind games aren't going to affect his mum.
PAUL: Declan, she made the mistake of leaving me.
DECLAN: The mistake was getting together with you in the first place. (Dec stands up to tower over him) And she can see that now. Every stunt you've pulled has just reinforced to her why she's better off without you.
PAUL: You really have no idea what you're letting yourself in for, do you?
DECLAN: Oh I've got a fair idea, but it doesn't matter. Because mum getting away from you is worth anything you can throw at us.
PAUL: I wouldn't bet on it.
Third Commercial Break
Lassiter's Carpark
Rebecca and Declan are looking forward to getting back to the hotel after a long, arduous day, but it gets worse when they realise Paul's taking Declan's company car away. He's also called their hotel and had them kicked out - it pays to have been in the hotel business as long as he has. Paul adds that they won't be able to stay anywhere in the general vicinity. Rebecca seethes at him and says he's pathetic, but Paul just smirks and says he can recommend a caravan park for them.
