This week on Neighbours
Summer denying she is into Andrew.
Steph painting the nursery.
Declan wanting to know if Kate is his girlfriend.
Declan warning his mum.
Rebecca asking Paul for a divorce.
Andrew trying to help Paul regain his memory.
Previously on Neighbours
- Paul waking up and saying he was pushed.
Andrew is encouraging his dad to talk to Det. Brennan as Doug and Karl barge into the room to try and prevent it from happening. Det. Brennan makes it clear that it isn't a formal interview, so Doug relents and says he's got 5 minutes, leaving Karl to watch over the proceedings while he dashes off to answer his page.
Andrew gets a ticking off from the detective for trying to tell Paul what happened instead of letting Paul say what he can remember. Eventually he says ‘Diana, mezzanine and argue' so Karl calls a halt to the proceedings. Its music to Andrew's ears though when Det. Brennan says that they will need to talk to Diana again.
Andrew is updating his dad – the police are going to revoke Diana's bail and she'll be back in jail. The two of them chat briefly as Paul is barely able to string a sentence together, before Andrew leaves to let Rebecca talk to him.
Sophie comes up with a present suggestion to Kate for Paul – a talking tape of Napoleon's biography. Susan comes in to order coffee and remarks that the girls must be pleased with the news on Paul, they are.
Karl joins Susan and they chat about how Rebecca is handling things now Paul is awake. He tells her too about what was said to the police and Susan seems happy that the emails she received now appear to have been a hoax.
Andrew brings the other members of the Scooby Doo gang up to speed on Diana when he enters the store. “Finally she gets what she deserves,” he gloats to them. Sum announces that they should celebrate beginning with her shouting cupcakes but Tash would rather they go watch Diana being carted away! Andrew is up for suggestion two and as they head out the store, Summer follows too.
Rebecca has being very detached around Paul since he woke up and when he talks to her, she lets him know about what was splashed all over the front page of the paper, for which he wants to explain to her. She doesn't think is the time, recovery is more important. “I never stopped loving you,” he tries to tell her but she's not listening.
In her room, Diana takes a call from Mr Anonymous informing her that Paul is awake and she is being blamed for pushing him. “He said what?!” she tells him before we next see her hurriedly packing up.
Meanwhile down in the lobby of the hotel, Det. Brennan and some uniforms arrive to have a word with our American guest however when they reach her room, despite the hotel saying she was still there, they find the room unoccupied.
The Scooby Doo gang turn up ready to watch but all they see is the police exiting the lift empty handed. Andrew is not amused!
Susan arrives with coffee and a hug for Rebecca and encourages her to have a break. Doug agrees to let her know immediately should anything arise… and just after he leaves the room, Paul has another visitor – Diana! He is a bit delirious to begin with, having been sleeping, and thinks its Rebecca who has entered the room but a few seconds later he eventually realises. Immediately he goes to grab the buzzer but it's safely in her hand and Paul looks rather worried as we head into the first commercial break.
And today's trip down memory lane is to 1992 with Hannah and Phil Martin.
Paul vainly shouts for a nurse but it's more like a whimper so nobody comes rushing in. Diana gloats to him that it wasn't her – if it had been he'd be in the morgue not a hospital bed. “What do you want?” he asks and she replies the truth otherwise she's going to jail.
DIANA: For once in your life, do the right thing.
Diana exits through the side entrance of the room and Paul muscles up the energy to knock something to the floor to attract attention to his plight. This works and Karl rushes in and eventually Paul makes himself understood that the police need to be called.
Det. Brennan is interviewing Paul about his recent visitor. Again Andrew rubs the detective up the wrong way (he thinks there should have been a guard on Paul's door) and when he goes outside to chat with Karl, Andrew tells Rebecca that he wants Paul moved someone more secure and isn't impressed at her trying to keep things calm. “I'll track her down myself,” he tells them and it's only when Paul says no that he agrees not to.
Andrew brings Tash and Sum up to date on Diana and the two of them argue over how best to help keep Andrew's mind off things, so much so he decides he'd rather be alone.
The girls rope Chris into helping Andrew (who's letting off steam on a treadmill) since they've been rejected although it's more begrudgingly that he does it. “This could go horribly wrong,” Tash confesses to Summer as Chris heads over to him.
Chris seems to be avoiding Andrew, much to the girls' distain, but eventually he goes over to him and holds the punching bag while he totally lets rip.
Declan chats to his mum about Diana when he returns to the hospital with Indy – he's confident the police will catch her and that will be the end of it. Susan arrives and Rebecca thanks her for coming and admits that she did think that Paul was going to die before adding that she doesn't know what to think any more and is now sick of the whole thing.
DECLAN: It's alright mum.
REBECCA: We can't go back to what we had, you know that's finished, Diana made sure of that.
SUSAN: Whatever you decide, we all support you, you know that.
REBECCA: Do you think I should stay with him?
SUSAN: I think whatever you decide, you should talk to Paul.
Declan joins his mum as she sits in the corridor watching Paul sleep and she remarks that he looks so peaceful. “You're not thinking about forgiving him?” he asks and Rebecca's silence has him adding that having anything to do with Paul is a mistake plus he'll try and talk her round.
DECLAN: You know what you have to do.
REBECCA: I know.
The girls are disappointed that Andrew didn't open up fully to Chris after he goes over to them (having got Andrew a bottle of water) telling them that all Andrew asked was that he be there, which he did. “I told you this wouldn't work,” Tash tells Summer but Chris thinks it has – Andrew is less angry and suggests that they head over now as he's more likely to listen. “We've got nothing to lose,” Tash remarks and they head over.
Andrew begins by apologising for his earlier behaviour and Sum tells him forget about finding Diana and instead concentrate on helping his dad get better. “That's all that really matters,” Tash inputs and Summer backs that up by reminding Andrew that its something he can do.
Andrew is back visiting Paul and reassures his dad he didn't go looking for Diana. Paul tells him about what Diana said and wishes he could remember, not being able to is driving him crazy! “I don't deserve either of you” Paul adds and that he hasn't been a model father or husband either. Andrew reassures him they'll sort things out and Paul remarks that Rebecca would be a rich woman if he she hadn't ripped the contract up. “Rebecca doesn't want money, she just wants you,” Andrew explains and adds that she just wants him home.
Meanwhile in the waiting room, Rebecca has been confiding all in Susan before Karl comes to take her home and they swap places with Declan and the sleeping Indy. Dec's been on a food run but brought something else back with him – an application for divorce kit he's obviously downloaded from the internet. He reassures her that he'll be behind her all the way but leaves her to it as Indy needs to be taken home.
Andrew enters the waiting room as Declan leaves and is distraught to see the divorce stuff, telling her that she can't divorce him.
Andrew follows Rebecca out of the hospital, trying to convince her not to go through with the divorce, and she makes it clear she isn't discussing it with him. He tries the softly, softly approach, telling her that he needs her.
ANDREW: I said I wanted him dead and it nearly happened. I need you to help me make it up to him. You're the only one that can do it. Please.
Rebecca sends him back to his dad, saying that Paul needs someone there and they will talk about it later and Dejectedly, Andrew heads back inside.
