Recap
Toadie telling Sonya that the past is in the past.
Toadie Skyping Steph and the baby, telling her he'll take time off and go and see her.
Declan and Kate kissing; Kate telling Dec they still need space from each other.
Kate telling ReRebecca that Declan's struggling and needs her.
ReRebecca seeing Diana and Paul's affair splashed across the front of the Waratah Star.
Number 22
ReRebecca stares at the front page of the paper, whilst Donna watches her, Indy on her lap. Donna suggests that ReRebecca doesn't need to go into work today, as Nick has everything covered, but ReRebecca just wants to get things back to normal. She admits that she's known about Diana's affair with Paul for a while, and says that she doesn't care what people think; she only cares about Paul's health.
DONNA: You are an amazing woman.
REBECCA: Hardly.
She dumps the paper in the bin.
Charlie's
Ringo is talking to Nick about taking Donna away to meet her grandmother - who is, apparently, an old version of Donna. ReRebecca comes in to work and, right on cue, all the extras stare at her, one by one. Nick tells ReRebecca he threw out all the morning's papers, and he and Ringo tell her they're sorry about what happened with Diana and Paul. ReRebecca tells them that she just wants people to stop stressing around her so she can get on with her normal routine.
Number 24
Donna comes over to see Kate who tells her best friend what happened with Declan yesterday - they slept together, and now Declan has taken it the wrong way. Kate feels like she's completely screwed up, and is so annoyed with herself for being so stupid. Donna assures her that everyone makes mistakes, and suggests that perhaps something is still there between her and Declan.
KATE: It's still wrong.
DONNA: Welcome to the world of messy relationships.
Donna shows Kate the front page of the newspaper.
Harold's Store
Kate is still brooding over the newspaper, and wonders if Declan hates Paul so much because he's exactly like him.
Over at a table Sonya and Callum wait for Toadie who walks in, whilst leaving a voicemail message for Steph to call him. Lyn comes to the table and throws the newspaper down, reeling off all the things to hate about Paul. Toadie asks Lyn if she's heard from Steph, and she says no, but Joe called and said that Steph has moved into a motel.
Toadie checks his phone again, and Sonya tells him that Steph will call when she wants to. But Toadie ignores his girlfriend and sends the mother of a child that isn't his a text message anyway.
Number 30
Over at number 30, Sonya and Callum want to play a game, and have set it up. But Toadie thinks they should do more things from the Baby List, after all, when the baby gets here they'll be doing baby things. Um - why? You're not the dad, and it's certainly not Sonya or Callum's responsibility.
CALLUM: Why are we doing all this anyway? It's not like the baby's actually part of our family.
Toadie points out that family is nothing to do with genetics, which is a fair argument, but completely misses the point that he's now in a relationship with Sonya, not the woman he married to cover up the baby lies. Oh, Toadie...
Toadie announces that the baby will be as much a part of the family as anyone, and tells Sonya and Callum that they're not going to play the game - they're going to build a crib over at Lyn's. How sensitive.
Erinsborough Hospital
ReRebecca stands by Paul's bed whilst Doug tells her that he's still stable, and he doesn't know if or when Paul will wake up. Doug leaves and ReRebecca sits down.
REBECCA: I don't know whether to laugh or cry. What's next, Paul? Whatever it is...(she starts to cry)...I guess I'll be dealing with it by myself. Like I always do.
She composes herself. Then:
REBECCA: I HATE you, Paul. (Quietly) Please wake up. Please.
Number 28
Donna and Ringo are looking for snacks to take on their road trip, and have a little kiss. ReRebecca walks in, sad, looking for Susan who's at work. Donna asks if ReRebecca is okay, and ReRebecca quickly covers by saying that she wanted to retrieve a book of hers. She leaves. Donna tells Ringo that Becca's really not coping.
Lassiter's
Outside Harold's Store Donna is sounding out Kate about Rebecca, and says that she needs someone to talk to. With Susan at work, she's not sure who to ask.
At that point ReRebecca comes over to get her invoices from the store; she doesn't want to see Lyn so asks Kate to go get them. Donna suggests to ReRebecca that she talk to Lyn, but Rebecca's adamant that Lyn will only gossip and gloat about Paul's affair, and as if right on cue, Lyn appears. ReRebecca strops off - she doesn't want to hear anything that Lyn has to say.
Donna tells Lyn that ReRebecca really needs someone to talk to - someone with some life experience; she really needs the support. Lyn doesn't think it's a good idea, but finally agrees and asks Kate to look after the store.
KATE: Lyn?! Seriously?!
DONNA: They will be fine!
Charlie's
In her office, an on- edge ReRebecca tries to take some calming breaths. Lyn appears.
LYN: Rebecca...
REBECCA: You've really got a hide, haven't you? Coming in here, to...to gloat.
LYN: No, that's not why I...
REBECCA: Well, it's one thing following me around outside, isn't it, but it's another thing here, to...to come into my office... You must be really keen to rub my nose in my misery, eh?
LYN: Rebecca...
REBECCA: Well go in here...come on, look...you've got me cornered, haven't you?! So why don't you tell me how silly I am to think that *I* would be the one to change Paul Robinson when everyone else has failed.
Angry and upset, ReRebecca cries whilst Lyn watches, sadly.
REBECCA: Now come on! Come on! Just do your worst! Congratulations! You were right! You were right! And now you get to have the last laugh, don't you?
Lyn walks over to Rebecca, her arms open, but distraught ReRebecca fights her off.
REBECCA: No, Lyn, I don't want your pity!
LYN: (calmly) That's not what you're getting.
Lyn pulls ReRebecca to her, and she slumps on Lyn's shoulder, sobbing.
Cut to later where Nick has bought some coffees in for the girls, who are sitting on the sofa. Lyn admits to ReRebecca that she's not one to judge when it comes to Paul; lots of people are taken in by him. ReRebecca confesses that she finds it so hard dealing with stuff like this on her own, and Lyn understands - her support network has dwindled since the Steph and Toadie revelation.
Lyn tells ReRebecca that they probably won't ever be the best of friends, but if ReRebecca needs someone to listen, she'll be there.
LYN: For what it's worth, Rebecca, I always thought you'd be the one to change Paul.
Number 26
Toadie is trying to build a crib, very badly. Callum's not interested.
TOADIE: There's got to be an easier way.
CALLUM: Yeah. Buy one that's already built.
Sonya comes out from the baby's bedroom and takes them to see what she's painted - a tree with a different branch for each member of the family. Including Toadie, Callum, Joe, Charlie, Steph, Oscar, Nina, Lyn, Michelle, Flick, Jack, Valda and Summer. The boys are gobsmacked before they manage to open their mouths to say that they think it's awesome! She's left some branches without names so they can add any names she doesn't know about. They're thrilled.
Toadie takes a brush and adds Sonya's name. Lyn comes in, hearing the commotion, and is as equally thrilled. She talks about how it makes her want her family back together, whilst hugging Toadie and Callum. Sonya looks awkward.
Lassiter's
Outside Harold's Donna and Ringo are talking about their trip whilst Kate stares at Charlie's. She's worried she was too hard on ReRebecca at the hospital the other day and walks over to apologise. Rebecca tells her that she's sorry too - she hasn't been herself over the last few days. Her phone rings and it's the hospital calling - Paul's opened his eyes.
Kate smiles whilst ReRebecca just looks worried.
Erinsborough Hospital
Rebecca, Kate, Donna and Ringo are at Paul's bedside as Doug explains that Paul's still in a coma - opening his eyes doesn't mean he's conscious. It's a good sign, but Doug still can't make any promises. ReRebecca says she'll stay with Paul and Donna to get Nick to look after Charlie's. She says she won't leave Paul's side now until he wakes.
Outside Paul's room Donna assures Kate that things will be alright with Paul and Rebecca, but Kate can't get Declan off her mind. Donna suggests that she come to her gran's with her and Ringo, get away for the weekend. Kate says she has to look after Sophie but Donna counters that Lucas and Lou can do that. Kate finally agrees - some time out would be nice.
Number 26
Sonya and Callum are stacking the baby's shelves with nappies and cream. Lyn walks in, finishing a phone conversation with Bec.
TOADIE: You're going to the hospital to visit Rebecca?
LYN: Just to make sure she's alright...
TOADIE: I'm sorry, what universe is this?
She disappears off, and Toadie thinks that the sooner Steph's back the better for everyone. He notices Sonya flinching and asks her if she's okay. She tells him that Steph will call when she wants, and that he can stop constantly checking his phone. He decides to turn his phone off, but as he takes it out Steph calls. He answers it. Sonya is left as second best again.
On the phone Steph tells Toadie that she's giving the baby away, before hanging up. Toadie tells Sonya and Callum he has to go, and races off.
Number 30
Toadie is packing a bag when Sonya storms in, asking what's happened with Steph. Toadie says he's too busy, but Sonya demands to know why he's just leaving - can't he at least tell her? Toadie yells that he doesn't have time to tell Sonya what's going on (although he seems to have the time to argue about it).
Toadie tells Sonya to be reasonable and she loses it.
SONYA: No! I waited! And I've sacrificed everything. Everything, and I am sick of it, so you tell me right now why it's so important that you're with Steph right now, or I won't be here when you get back.
TOADIE: I'm not deliberately avoiding your question, but...
SONYA: FINE!
She storms off.
TOADIE: No, Sonya, wait!
SONYA: I'm finished arguing! I'm finished putting Steph first, and I'm finished putting me second, and I am FINISHED!
TOADIE: She's giving up the baby! I have to stop her!
There you go, Toadie, that one sentence could have been uttered 5 minutes ago. Why are you such an idiot?
He kisses her on the way out, but Sonya just looks disgusted.
