Recap
Lucas gets a job teaching mechanics at the school.
Andrew warns Summer that no- one messes with Tash!
Summer wonders why Tash is hiding how smart she is.
Susan proposes the scaffolding collapse story for the Erinsborough News.
Susan makes a presentation to her Media Ethics group about workplace accidents.
Paul tells Declan that he paid Jim Dolan everything he owed him - legally, but there is an agreement in place.
Declan finds a DVD (in an envelope that Paul has marked for Dolan) of the CCTV footage at the scaffolding site showing him throwing something on the site.
Number 22
Declan hurriedly puts the DVD back in the locked cupboard where he found it as Paul and Lucas arrive home. He knocks over a vase of flowers, and rushes to clear it up. Lucas and Paul go upstairs, whilst Declan assures Paul he's fixing up the flowers and vase.
The following morning Paul is on the phone explaining that he's had a cash injection into PirateNet of $100,000, so there is nothing to worry about. Lucas, Andrew and Declan come downstairs for breakfast, but whilst Lucas and Andrew talk about mechanics class, Declan listens in on Paul's conversation.
Andrew rushes off to school whilst Paul throws a list of PirateNet advertisers in front of Declan, telling him to do some work on it today. Dec is reluctant, but Paul suggests that helping his mother's business should be his priority - especially as him tackling the key advertiser has caused some of the problems.
Lucas appears at the table to advise Declan that Kate just called - she has to go to a uni class and needs him to look after Sophie who's unwell. Paul says that he'll look after both Sophie and India whilst Declan sorts out the advertising issue. After all, they're family: they should all take care of each other.
Number 32
In Tash's bedroom Andrew and Tash slate Lucas' new mechanics lessons at school. They are, apparently, tragic. They discuss how Lucas needs 10 to make the class work, and they have no intention of going. They kiss on Tash's bed before they're interrupted by Michael who offers them a lift to school, but the kids refuse - after all, they still have five minutes, why waste it?
Harold's Store
Summer is showing Chris some photos on her camera. He tells her she looks beautiful, and kisses her cheek. Tash and Andrew walk in, making fun of them.
TASH: Oh my God! Next thing you know they'll be holding hands!
Chris asks Tash and Andrew if they're doing the mechanics class, and they dismiss it. Summer defends Lucas, and approaches Michael, signing up for the class. He's impressed: she's the only girl to take an interest. Chris is also impressed with Sum's attitude. Tash thinks that Summer is tragic - she'll never find overalls in her size (because, you know, Summer is SO overweight). Andrew points out that Tash is just as bad as Sum, always wanting to prove her point, and Michael suggests that his daughter go to the class to give Summer a run for her money if she's that bothered...
Number 22
Sophie is lying on the sofa, ill, and Paul offers her a hot water bottle or a teddy bear.
SOPHIE: I'm not two, uncle Paul.
Declan comes downstairs to prep India's bottle, and Paul says he'll do it for him. Paul waxes lyrical about how great a father Declan is, and reminds him that if anything happened to Dec, he'd make sure India was taken care of.
Ramsay Street
Declan rushes up to Toadie who's about to get into his car. He asks for legal advice and Toadie leaps in, assuring him that he's got it covered - they have sorted out the whole Declan at the site thing.
Declan realises with horror that Paul lied to Toadie, and tells Toadie the truth - they were both there, and now Paul has doctored the footage, and it looks like it's only him who's guilty.
Number 30
Toad and Declan walk into the house, and Toadie suggests that Paul has faked the footage for insurance, in case he needs a favour from Declan in the future. It's blackmail material, a sitting duck. Toadie suggests that they have the upper hand - Paul doesn't know that they know what he's done.
TOADIE: That gives us time.
DECLAN: To do what?
Cut to moments later where Toadie has produced every document and invoice relating to Dolan in two large boxes. They're going to look for evidence that Paul has done something dodgy and turn the tables.
Cut to moments later again where Toadie has found an invoice which doesn't match up to the Lassiter's accounts. Paul told the board he paid Dolan $100,000 more than what's on the invoice. So what's Paul done with the extra money? Declan remembers the conversation from that morning.
TOADIE: If Paul's taking money to prop up PirateNet, that is serious embezzlement!
DECLAN: So if the authorities knew about this, what would happen?
TOADIE: He'd go to jail. For a very long time.
Carpenter's Mechanics
The kids have arrived for the mechanics class, and are putting on overalls. Michael pops by to see how it's going, and promises to come back again later. Tash and Andrew arrive, and Tash makes fun of Summer in the overalls. Lucas tells her to leave, but Tash insists she wants to stay to see if it's something she's interested in. Lucas concedes, but warns Tash to keep quiet or she's out.
Charlie's
Declan is telling Toadie he doesn't want to involve the police in this - this now involves Rebecca, too, and he doesn't want to upset his mum. She loves Paul and Dec has to protect her from this. Toadie's not convinced, and says he's not sure he can live with this. Dec begs for time - they must be able to punish Paul without punishing Becca. Toadie warns him that if he doesn't come up with a plan before the end of the day he'll have to go to the police.
TOADIE: One other thing, destroy that DVD. Because if this all goes pear- shaped you do not want Paul having something over you.
Carpenter's Mechanics
The kids are crowded around the car's engine, whilst Tash sits with a fizzy drink on a chair, being an utter brat.
LUCAS: Now, who can tell me what this car is missing?
TASH: A sense of style?
SUMMER: A battery.
LUCAS: Great, Summer.
TASH: If this gets any more exciting I may wet my pants.
Summer goes to get a battery to put in the car but she struggles with the weight of it, and Tash makes fun of her. Andrew defends Summer and takes the battery for her, taking it to Lucas who suggests he help put it in the car.
ANDREW: No I'll be alright.
LUCAS: What, so you'd just rather hang on the sidelines with your mouthy girlfriend?
The other kids all snigger, calling him a wuss. Tash takes Andrew's arm, trying to get him to stay with her, making fun of everyone else. But Andrew refuses, and goes to join in the class. Tash is left looking annoyed, and left out.
Number 22
Paul and Sophie are watching a TV show, smiling and laughing, when Declan comes home. Paul tells Soph that he'll walk her home, as Kate should be back from uni by now. Whilst Sophie gets ready, Paul asks how it went with the advertisers, and Declan tells him he didn't get anyone buying any ad time. Paul says he'll have to do it again tomorrow.
As Paul takes Sophie home, Declan unlocks the cupboard to retrieve the faked CCTV footage - but Paul gets home just as he's hunting around. Declan first tries to say he wanted to borrow Paul's laptop, but gives in and shows him the DVD - what's Paul hiding?
Cut to later and Paul tells Declan he doesn't need to play the DVD - it's just CCTV footage of a building site which Paul bought off the security company. Paul confesses that it incriminates him, so Declan wonders why he hasn't destroyed it. Paul thinks Dec is right - and says he'll get rid of it. So Declan hands him the DVD and a pair of scissors, and watches whilst Paul reluctantly destroys it.
Carpenter's Mechanics
Lucas' class is finishing, and the students give him a round of applause. It's been a success. Andrew says he won't be back, but at least he gave it a go. Michael returns, as promised, and says he thinks it's going to be a great class. Summer suggests they get a burger at Grease Monkeys, but Tash wants Andrew to be with her, alone, at home. Andrew would rather do that, so he goes to wash up.
Summer wonders why Tash never gets sick of the bimbo act.
TASH: If you tell anyone about Mathlete, I'll kill you.
SUMMER: You know, if you were actually just yourself, Andrew would like you for more than one reason.
TASH: Andrew likes me for many reasons.
SUMMER: Name them.
Tash ignores her, and Summer suggests that if she stopped letting Andrew be physical with her, then their relationship wouldn't last longer than a day. Which sets Tash a challenge...
Number 32
Tash and Andrew kiss their way into Tash's bedroom, but Tash soon stops. She feels like talking for a bit, just hanging out. Andrew is confused - if they're only going to talk, they could have gone to Grease Monkeys with the others. Tash admits she's not in the mood, so Andrew leaves her to go and join the others for a burger.
Despondent, Tash sits in front of her bedroom mirror and imagines Andrew being impressed that she has brains.
Charlie's
Declan's playing pool when Lucas joins in, telling him that his first mechanics class went really well. Lucas is really impressed with himself, and brags to Declan how he made sure it was a good class: he kept it in- house, made the other kids pull up the ones who don't want to take part. Keep your cred, and let the kids do the work for you.
This gives Declan an idea, and he runs off, leaving Lucas to play alone.
Number 30
Declan's plan is to call Diana Marshall, Paul's boss in America, to tell her what's been happening. She won't want to go to the police, so it will be kept in- house, and Rebecca won't have to be a part of it. Toadie still wants to call the cops, but he understands that Dec wants to protect Rebecca.
Toadie steps out of it - Declan has to handle it all, now. He walks out, leaving Dec to make the phone call. He dials the number, and leaves a message for Diana.
