Elle slapping Cass.
Cass begging Donna not to leave her.
Number 22
Elle is grooming Cat when Donna comes downstairs and she offers Donna Paul's old room but Donna is reluctant to accept because she thinks Paul will be back soon enough. Elle tells her she's made her decision and to celebrate Donna being back, suggests they go out for breakfast.
Before they can though, Cass arrives with Donna's belongings that she left behind and tries (and fails) to change her daughters mind. Like Elle, Donna is sticking to her decision and orders her mum to leave, which she does rather reluctantly and probably more because Elle threatened to call the police and have her charged with trespassing.
Lassiters Complex
Toadie and Callum are trying to have breakfast (after being at the gym) but have to listen to Dan commenting on their breakfast first. Callum tells Dan the latest gossip about Donna divorcing her mum and he seems rather relived for Donna.
At the other side of the complex, Sunny and Zeke are trying to learn their lines but she is having trouble with the language and reminds him that English isn't her first language. They run into Declan and when he asks how the play is going, both admit that they hate it, so he suggests that they should quit if they don't like it. When Declan leaves, it dawns on Sunny that Declan was right - they are the leading members and so can do whatever they want. Zeke reminds her that they can't quit since Dan's job is on the line. "I didn't say anything about quitting" she replies.
Ramsay Street
Donna and Elle are on the hunt for Cat who has gone AWOL. Elle thinks Cass got something to do with it especially after she tells Donna about slapping Cass. Declan confirms Elle's theory when he tells them about seeing Cass take the cat from under a bush earlier and both ladies head off towards #24.
Number 24
Elle enters demanding that Cass returns Cat but she is playing dumb despite the contrary evidence and her plea that she "wouldn't hurt a living creature."
DONNA: What about me? You hurt me. I'd hate to think what you'd do to a helpless animal.
Elle lays a "if anything happens to her" threat and this time its Cass who comes out with the 'you're trespassing' line to get the pair of them to leave.
Number 28
Dan arrives at the request of his leading cast members and they tell him bluntly that they hate the play and to back it up, Zeke hands over a petition by of the majority of the cast who agree with them.
Dan is aghast and makes the case for not cancelling because the sets are half-built and the tickets are on sale. Sunny agrees with him that they don't want to cancel, they just want a different play (one less tragic and more modern) and promise to put in extra effort at rehearsals to make sure it comes off. Dan tries to say that it's impossible to get a replacement but Zeke is insistent - no new play, no play at all.
Ramsay Street
Callum spots one of Bob's toys as they return home and Toadie tries to tell him that Bob wouldn't want them being upset, reminding Callum of what Bob use do to if they'd had an accident (sniffing around their faces making sure they were okay).
CALLUM: But what do you reckon he'd want us to be doing right now?
TOADIE: Probably eating pizza so he could vacuum it up off the floor.
They decide to head indoor to have the pizza that's in the fridge but before they even get to the front door, they hear Dan who is moaning about his cast blackmailing him, still stunned that they are doing this to him.
CALLUM: Does your play have ninja's in it? (Shake of Dan's head) Light sabres? Zombies? Intergalactic warfare?
DAN: It's a classic.
CALLUM: It's boring.
Toadie backs Squid up and tells Dan to get a new play. Callum suggests 'Quantum of Solace' or 'The Bourne Ultimatum' despite Toadie saying they are not plays! Dan pleads that he doesn't have the time but Toadie offers him a carrot - he'll be a shoe-in for the Principal's job if he can pull it off and agrees to check the net for something suitable while Dan heads to the library.
As they walk towards the house, Callum tells Toadie that he doesn't need to search online - they could use 'The Girl Next Door' (TGND) but after pointing out it's the wrong sort of play, he tells Callum that they "don't talk about it."
Number 22
Donna wants to get the police involved in getting Cat back from Cass but Elle points out that she isn't exactly flavour of the month at the local station just now. Elle begins to plot how she can get into #24...
Number 24
Donna matches into the house and immediately her mum goes defensive - she doesn't have Cat but that isn't why Donna has called round, she wants them to talk about the divorce.
CASS: Would you stop talking about us like we are married, it is so unnatural.
Cass is surprised when Donna readily agrees however what Donna is after is them "talking out of court" with Toadie rather than the trying again that Cass thought. Donna makes it clear though that there is no going back and receives a "don't expect me to help you" reply back from her mum. Cass them gets an ultimatum - go with Donna now to see Toadie or she'll see her in court and this finally gets her attention and Cass agrees to go with her and talk to Toadie but isn't planning on signing anything.
Donna then manages to get her mum out of the livingroom for a few seconds so she can let Elle in the back door and when mother and daughter leave, Elle starts to look around for Cat. Eventually she hears Cat meowing from underneath the house.
Underneath Number 24
Elle climbs in the crawlspace underneath the house to try and retrieve Cat but her claustrophobia returns (we get a quick flashback of her trapped in the warehouse) and is forced to retreat from the crawlspace.
Ramsay Street
Dan returns from the library and ignores the envelope sitting in the post box, walking straight into the house. Callum (who's been watching) then retrieves the said envelope and drops it instead on the front doorstep before retreating into a hiding position again to watch after knocking on the front door.
Eventually Dan answers the door and begins to read what is in the envelope while trying to work out how/why it is there. We finally see what was in the envelope - a copy of TGND and from the looks on Dan's face; he likes what he is reading and equally Callum has a happy face on too!
Harold's Store
Dan presents, well throws his copy of TGND onto the table where Zeke and Sunny are sitting telling them that is going to be their new play but they know all about it - they've mysteriously been given copies too and are as equally impressed with the play.
Toadie enters the store to tell Dan that he found some suitable plays but his printer is out of ink. Dan replies that he's found the play and when Sunny and Zeke start reading excerpts from the play, Toadie joins in.
ZEKE: (puzzled) Have you read this?
TOADIE: No, I haven't read it, I wrote it and it's private.
He then grabs the copies of the play and tells them that it isn't being performed in public before leaving to have a word with Callum!
Lassiters Complex
Toadie dishes out Callum's punishment and the lad isn't happy to be getting punished. Dan exits the store and Toadie apologises to him, adding that he'll get a new play for him tomorrow. "We don't want a new play mate, we want The Girl Next Door" Dan tells him. Toadie isn't budging though even when Callum says he removed his name (in case they hated it) and Dan tries again, telling him that they don't hate it, they love it and need it.
CALLUM: Told you!
TOADIE: You are really pushing it.
DAN: Listen Toadie, the kids really need this mate.
Toadie then gives Callum some money to get some smoothies so he can talk to Dan in private. Dan reassures him that he isn't making it up, the play is really good and most of all the characters are real, so that the audience can identify with them. Toadie then let's slip that the play is actually about himself and Steph even though he changed the names to Gerard and Stella.
TOADIE: No, you can't do it, not in Erinsborough.
Charlie's
Donna tries to say that it's very unprofessional of Toadie not to show up but Cass has seen right through her plan and tells her to call him "or better still why don't you call my place and tell Elle to leave it the way she found it." Donna is forced to admit that it was a ploy to get her out of the house but asks if she did take Cat. Cass refuses to answer that but when she can see that Donna is annoyed, is forced to say that the cat ran out the door (despite Donna telling her to close the door quickly to prevent Cat from getting out) and she found it on the lawn when she got home.
CASS: I wasn't going to hurt it; I even fed the stupid thing. I just wanted to teach the ice princess a lesson.
Cass then adds that she genuinely doesn't know where the cat is now when Donna asks.
Harold's Store
Dan, Sunny and Zeke try a three-pronged attack in trying to get Toadie to change his mind and they get the breakthrough when Zeke compares the play to something written by David Williamson.
TOADIE: If I did give permission, in theory, I would have to approve any changes.
DAN: Absolutely mate.
CALLUM: Not that it needs changing.
Zeke nudges Sunny to get her to keep quiet since she was about to say something and Dan continues the buttering up and eventually Toadie gives them permission to use his play... on another condition - that he has a chair on set with his name on the back!
DAN: You're not in Hollywood.
ZEKE: (interrupting) It's done.
Underneath Number 24
After admitting that she doesn't like enclosed spaces, Elle ropes Declan into getting Cat back and he heads off to where Cat is. Unseen by him, crawls under some exposed wiring however he safely reaches Cat easily enough and after attaching the leash Elle gave him, craws safely back to her with Cat.
Elle quickly gets out of the crawlspace but Declan then turns around and starts to head back to where Cat was because he saw something. However when he gets there, it turns out to be nothing, so he turns around and we head into the last commercial break.
Outside Number 24
Elle is relived to have her cat safely back and tells Cat that its smoked salmon for supper since Paul forgot to take it away with him when he left. She shouts out to Declan what he is still doing in there and when she hears no response from him goes back under the house and finds him lying unconscious.
