Number 30 Garage
Dan is tinkering with his bike and having flashbacks to racing it. Libby arrives but Dan orders her out and in a fit of range, clears the shelves of the trophies that were sitting on it.
Charlie's (next day)
Charlie is playing up and Steph sits him at the bar with orders to draw a picture for her. Lucas enters and orders a coffee and Steph tells him that he needs to work out what he is doing and to stop playing games. He assures her that he has but can't re-write history. Their chat is halted when Steve spots that Charlie is about to do a re-enactment of the diving from Beijing and Lucas rescues him before he can do any harm to himself. She thanks him for his help but also points out that he is making things really difficult for Libby.
LUCAS: It's not my problem.
STEPH: Yes it is.
School
Libby arrives to find Dan holding a crying baby, no Ben hasn't regressed in age, its part of a trial school programme (Baby think it over) which Libby explains to the class when she arrives. Dan fits Ringo up with the first baby and Donna tells Rachel that it's cute before going over to him when the rest of the class go to get their babies.
DONNA: What will we call her?
RINGO: Plastic baby?
Declan remarks to Didge that their baby looks like cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Zeke wonders what the point of the exercise is when Libby explains that there is no pass or fail.
DAN: It's about finding the emotional maturity to consider someone else's needs Zeke.
LIBBY: And not to toss it in when the going gets tough.
The General Store
Libby is twiddling her engagement ring when Lucas enters the store and comes over to talk to her. He doesn't answer Libby's question (if he was there to gloat) and instead tells her that Dan will come round. Lib questions if he really could have stood next to Dan and watch them get married but not feel anything.
LUCAS: Lib we had fun, that's all.
LIBBY: It was a bit more than that.
LUCAS: Was it?
LIBBY: I know I meant more to you than just a bit of fun.
LUCAS: I like you Lib, always have, right from the start. We had some good times but that's all it was but keep fooling yourself if that's what inflates your bone.
He then spots Libby's uneaten toasted sandwich and asks if he can have it because he's hungry. Libby doesn't reply, just gets up and leaves the store although when she's just about through the door, he puts the sandwich down.
Charlie's
Miranda is on a crusade to find Steve (well to see what he's been eating) but Ty replies back that they haven't seen him since breakfast time. Steph is then bemused when the RSK's walk in complete with babies and remarks to Miranda at least the teens can hand their kids back!
Rachel is at the whit's end with her one because it won't stop crying while Donna is the exact opposite with her baby (Tiffany Jane Brown!) doing the doting parent routine much to the bemusement of Ringo and Declan who were trying to play pool. Eventually he reminds her that it's a plastic doll when Donna suggests going for walkies with it but Donna's eyes go all starry-eyed when Declan remarks "if only it was real".
Number 26
Didge isn't having much luck with her baby either and Donna tries to show her how to do it when she pops round with Tiffany. Steve wants to have words with the Principal about sending their kids home with babies but he soon shuts up when Miranda informs him that he was caught out visiting Charlie's for a cholesterol breakfast.
Donna is still all starry-eyed at their project while Didge wants to know where the fathers are! She asks Didge if kids are on her agenda and is told that she hasn't thought about it but Donna obviously has in the short time they've been "parents" because she says that she does and that Ringo would make a great dad.
Charlie's
Pity she hasn't heard Ringo just tell Declan that he isn't in any hurry to be a dad and he jokes to him that Dan will need a crow-bar to get the baby off Donna!
Zeke and Rachel are still having problems with their baby so much so that they ask for a new one from Libby! She reminds them that it isn't a pass or fail assignment. Despite Rachel saying "I'm never having babies", Ty comes to her rescue in showing her how to hold the baby which means it stops crying to her astonishment.
Over at the bar, Steph confirms with Libby if they are all friends again, they are, and they both agree to blame Elle instead. She urges Libby to walk away from Lucas and to go sort things out with Dan.
Number 30 garage
Dan is sorting out Callum's worm farm when Elle calls by to subtly ask Dan about Donna's project but he doesn't fall for that so Elle is forced to do what she came to do - apologise to him for causing trouble between himself and Libby.
Dan invites her to stay for a coffee, which he will make if she spreads the bucket of rotting food into the worm farm. Elle is getting into the swing of things accompanied by her pink marigolds when Libby arrives. She wastes no time in laying into Elle, thinking that Elle is round to cause trouble by putting ideas into Dan's head.
ELLE: Don't blame me for your Fitzgerald addiction.
LIBBY: Any excuse to ruin somebody else's happiness and there you are following in your father's footsteps. (Taunting Elle) Your dad must be so proud of his little girl.
Elle then upturns the bucket of rotting food onto Libby's head telling her to leave her dad out of it; before the two of them have a cat fight although personally speaking I've seen more violence in a kids cartoon!
Break over and credit this, the warring ladies are now sitting side by side for a heart-to-heart with Elle helping to pull the worms off Libby's clothes! Libby admits that she got together with Lucas to punish Dan (who has now arrived with the cups of coffee but stops unseen by them to listen to the conversation.)
LIBBY: Lucas made me feel beautiful and smart and funny. I thought if Dan could be with someone else then so can I. (Dan shakes his head) So I did. I just wanted Dan to know how it felt.
Dan then makes himself know and when Libby tries to explain herself, he tells her that he's heard enough.
DAN: I can't marry you. Not now, not like this.
Number 26
The girls chat while cuddling their "children" and Donna interprets what Ty said to Rachel as him wanting her and tells her to get over to see him so she abandons her child to Zeke and departs.
Number 32
"You know that I'm a pretty messed up person" but Ty is playing things cool because he's heard it before from Rachel. She explains that she is paranoid about getting involved again but he gives her the cold shoulder and calls things off between them.
Number 28
The girls console Rachel while the boys look after the children. Declan abandons his child because he's got a session at the gym and Didge bemoans that she'd might as well be a single mum for all the help he is providing.
Donna & Ringo stay behind while the others take their "offspring" for a walk when she makes it clear to him that there are other things on her mind. She tells Ringo to head to the bedroom first and when he leaves, she throws her contraceptive pills into the bin.
Number 32
"Well, you're brave" Steph comments when she answers the door to Elle but Libby appears and tells Steph that it's okay. Steph heads off to work and the ladies warm to each other by comparing notes about where they found worms!
LIBBY: I guess we're even then?
ELLE: Yes I guess. How are things with Dan? (silence) Sorry.
LIBBY: I don't deserve him. I never thought I'd find a guy who measured up to Drew and when I finally do I screw it up and now the weddings off.
Elle says that Dan will change his mind although Libby doesn't think so, so she jokes that if this is what they are like when they are just engaged, what would they be like married!
The two of them then seem to bond over their love for the fighting brothers and Libby suggests that they should set an example.
ELLE: Is that a joke?!
LIBBY: It is now.
Charlie's
Unlike earlier, Steph is being nice to Lucas because he did the right thing even if he remarks it didn't feel like it. Dan arrives and informs him (and Steph) that the wedding is off and that he can have Libby all to himself. The brothers look set to fight so Ty intervenes and orders Dan out of the bar.
Number 30 garage
Dan is working on his bike when Lucas arrives with a proposition for Dan - a re-match of the race that almost killed him.
