Recap
Darren trying to persuade Janae calm down and not to tell.
Rachel telling her olds and Frazer that all the Ramsay Street Kids were at the nightclub.
Karl caught between who to go to as a secondary collapse occurs.
Outside nightclub
The place is a hive of activity as the rescue operation is in full swing with the RSR's looking on, waiting for news.
Rachel tries to reassure Susan that Zeke will be okay as he is probably in a safe part of the building but Susan snips back that she can't say that since she wasn't in there when it collapsed.
Inside the nightclub
Karl calls out for Libby but gets nothing back from her but Zeke shouts out so he turns his attention to him and heads towards where he is trapped. Zeke shouts out to Karl to leave him and head for Libby but Karl ignores him as he plans a route to where he can get to his step-son.
In another part of the building, Elle tells Riley that it hurts to breathe so he tells her to take little breaths and when she confirms that it hurts less, he leaves her to see if he can find an escape route for them. He doesn't get far though before more rubble falls down and Elle tells him that isn't the way out. Riley jokes back that he was just following the exit signs but she asks him not to make her laugh because it hurts. Elle starts to panic because she doesn't think anyone will be looking for them but Riley reassures her they will be.
We then cross over to see how Didge and Declan are doing. Declan can hear that they are trying to rescue them but Didge still looks scared witless. Since they've nowhere else to go, Didge brings up their disastrous date and him freaking out. Declan apologises again for how he behaved then but he doesn't feel like that now and when Didge asks if he didn't like having a "gimp for a girlfriend" he turns it around and ignores the bit about the gimp, instead concentrating on the 'girlfriend' bit.
Outside the nightclub
Steve wants to rush in and help but Miranda tells him not to and replies to his question that she can't get hold of Riley as he was out on assignment with Elle. Frazer checks with how Paul Rebecca is holding up and the news is that she isn't and Ollie is flying home from Sydney straight away.
Frazer then spots Dan and jumps under the barrier to enquire about Ringo but he sends him back under the barrier while saying there is no news about his brother. Ned asks if there is anything they can do and Dan replies that it would help if they knew who was in the club and Miranda volunteers to go round the kids who escaped to come up with a list. Dan's resilience wears and he allows Ned and Steve to help after Steve explains they were CFA volunteers for years.
Inside the nightclub
This time we're checking on how Ringo and Jessica are. Ringo reassures her help is on its way but her breathing doesn't sound too good. He tries to distract attention by telling her about where he grew up and that he'd love her to see it and encourages her to say where she'd like to be to keep her talking. Jess replies a jetty watching the sun go down while eating fish and chips with him for company.
Outside the nightclub
From behind the cordon, the RSR's can spot another person coming out (its Taylah) and Steve asks if she's see Didge but she replies that she hasn't seen her as Dan leads her over to Susan. Tearfully Taylah confirms to Susan that Zeke was in the building but that she hasn't seen him since the roof collapsed. Rachel goes over to comfort Susan but she isn't in the mood and has a go at her Zeke being in the building alone.
Inside the nightclub
Zeke shouts at Karl to leave him alone but Karl has now reached him and isn't going anywhere. Karl manages to lift the frame that has had Zeke trapped and is relieved to find the lad isn't injured before assuring him that Libby will be fine... but he spoke to soon as more of the building starts to fall where they are.
The General Store
Lou and Valda are showing great teamwork making food for everyone. Marco drops round some more supplies before volunteering his sandwich making skills.
Inside the nightclub
Didge asks the obvious question to Declan "are we going to make it" and all he can say is "I don't know". She then makes a decision - that she is forgiving Declan and they can be friends again but he wants more than friendship. "I want that too," she replies before reminding him that she is supposed to be with Josh but he replies back that he is supposed to be with him and just as they are about to kiss, Dan finds them and whilst they are both glad to be found, the timing wasn't exactly brilliant.
Back with Ringo and Jessica and her breathing still isn't improving, if anything it is getting worse. Jess admits that even though she has dated lots of guys, he is the one she wanted. Ringo is fine with that and she asks him why he let go of her hand an as the camera pans down he tells her that he hasn't let go. Jess thanks him but Ringo is suddenly alert as you can be in a trapped building and asks if she is okay. She replies back "no, I don't think so" and Ringo tells her to say with him. Her breathing gets more laboured and he begs her to hang on and stay awake and she agrees to try. Jess' breathing rate goes very slow and Ringo shouts out "Jess".
Outside the nightclub
One of the rescue personnel shouts out that another two are on their way out and the gathered RSR's can see that it is Declan and Bridget who are gingerly making their way out. Steve immediately goes to hug his daughter since he is in the cordoned off zone while Miranda grasps, relived to see Didge out. Declan makes his way over to where Rebecca is stood and mother and son hug each other while Steve carries Didge over so she can hug her mum.
The happy news doesn't last too long though as Didge asks "where's Riley" and Steve rushes back to help after telling Paul that his daughter is in there too.
Susan comes over to ask Didge if she saw any of her family and she confirms that she saw Zeke but before the roof collapsed, but nothing of Libby and Karl.
Inside the nightclub
Karl has finished checking Zeke over and declares him free of any life-threatening internal injuries and when he tells Zeke to put on his fleece, Zeke bites and tells him to keep it and to go and find Libby since he's done his duty. Karl replies that he is here for both of them but Zeke isn't seeing it that way and tells Karl that if he had things his way it would be him that is missing not her.
KARL: That's not true.
ZEKE: You left me to go rescue her.
KARL: I didn't leave you.
ZEKE: (forcefully) You did leave me.
Quietly Karl says that he was coming back. Nonchalantly Zeke replies that it is fine but you can tell it isn't and adds that he won't hold it against Karl and besides Libby is his daughter.
KARL: Yes and you are my son.
ZEKE: No, Billy and Mal are your sons.
KARL: No, you are my son, just as much as Mal and Billy. Libby, Rachel and Holly are my daughters.
Quietly Zeke asks why did he leave him and Karl doesn't reply.
The General Store
Valda relays news that Bridget and Declan are out to Lou and Marco who have finished making the sannies but follows that up with the news that Riley and Elle are missing. Marco quickly gathers a box and heads out of the store.
Inside the nightclub
Riley is trying to attract attention by banging but Elle says that nobody can hear them. He tells her that she doesn't look so good and tries to get her to sit up but that is worse so they abandon that idea and he resumes banging away to get someone's attention until Elle asks him to stop. Elle admits to him that she is scared and to detract attention away from their situation, he talks about things that he did as a kid but she starts to fall asleep and so he tries to rouse her just as the rescue squad arrive. Dan is first to reach them and says they will be out soon and Riley tells them to be quick as Elle isn't in a good way.
Outside the nightclub
Ned comes out to take on some liquids as Janae receives a text message from Kirsten asking that she see her now. Janae lies to Ned over who the text is from but the attention turns from that to news that more survivors are coming out - its Elle and Riley.
Paul breaks through the barricades to try and see his daughter but Dan pushes him away to let them get to the waiting ambulance where she is promptly loaded into. Steve runs over to Riley and this time it is a father and son hug and he is relived to hear that Didge is safe.
Ned pats Darren on the shoulder (who just so happens to be standing next to Janae) to say it will be his turn next but the lad must still be shell-shocked as he can't reply.
Inside the nightclub
Ringo is telling Jessica stories of his parents being on their cruise to keep her away and he remarks that her hand is feeling very cold. Te gets all excited when he can hear the rescue personnel in the background and tells her that help is on its way and shouts out to attract attention and Dan shouts back to him.
Jessica's breathing is getting very shallow and while he is in jubilant mood that rescue is close, she tells him to pass a message onto her mum.
JESSICA: Tell my mum that I love her.
RINGO: You tell her yourself. We are getting out of here.
Jessica is really struggling for breath and she valiantly continues with the message.
JESSICA: Tell her I'm sorry for sneaking out.
Ringo now realises that it's serious and he tells her to hang on help will be here any second and they can go on her dream date to the jetty.
RINGO: (pleading) Jessica.
Dan finally reaches them but we can't hear Jess' breathing any more and when Dan asks if Ringo is hurt he tells them to go to Jessica first as she is really hurt. While Ringo pleads for news of how she is, Dan has reached her and can find no pulse and bows his head for a second before making his way over to where Ringo is, saying they will concentrate on getting him out.
Ringo wants Dan to get Jessica out but he asks that he lets go of Jessica's hand and ever so reluctantly (and after Dan shouting at him to do so) he releases his hand from hers.
Outside the nightclub
Janae suggests that Rachel goes over to talk to Susan and this time when she does, the pair of them hug. While they watch the rescue, Janae tells Darren that she saw Kirsten walk away after their kiss at the garage and is now demanding that they meet. Darren replies that it could be about anything but Janae shakes her head and is obviously thinking worst case scenario by asking him "what are we going to do if she saw us?" Darren doesn't reply as they move apart.
Random Rosie and Marco dish out supplies to the rescue personnel and when they are alone, remarks to Marco that Frazer feels so responsible for his brother and doesn't know how he would cope if something happened. Thankfully that won't be the case as Frazer spots Ringo walking out of the building and he too goes through the barricade to hug his brother after a brief pause to say in a stern manner "I should wring your bloody neck!"
Susan goes up to Dan to see if he has spotted any of her family. He hasn't and says the standard lines of we're getting people out and it's only a matter of time and the even more standard "we're doing everything we can" line.
Ringo asks Dan if Jessica is out and Dan is forced to tell him that Jessica didn't make it.
Inside the nightclub
Seven out, three to go, as we head back after the final commercial break to the still trapped Zeke and Karl. The two of them can hear the rescue personnel using a bulldozer and fears that they are starting to clear the site up. Karl reassures him that isn't the case that they are just clearing one section as they begin to scramble around trying to find a way out. Its Zeke's turn to offer reassurance as he tells Karl that Libby will be fine as the camera pans round and we finally get to see Libby but she is unconscious and is buried beneath rubble.
The credits come up and surprisingly there is neither a voiceover promo for a Ten programme nor any vocals as the theme music plays but there is a few changes to the credits: Steph is now being listed as Stephanie Scully, Janae is back to being Janae Timmins but Susan is still Susan Kinski. The written by/directed by page is now after the guests like how it appears on the BBC, instead of virtually at the end.
