Recap
- Mickey announcing that Jake is shaking and wanting Ned to follow him.
- Bridget finding out how injured she is.
- Riley telling Declan that Didge doesn't want to see him again.
No. 22
Declan is in dreamland, with a tied up Declan being shouted at by another version of himself announcing that he had (what happened) coming to him because he's a bad guy. Thankfully he wakes up after Rebecca stirs him and she enquires if there is something he'd like to tell her after he got up set at the hospital. Declan refuses say anything to her, saying to leave it to the shrink instead.
Hospital
Declan is in with Dr Levi but as much as Levi tries to get him to open up, he just repeats what happened to him and that he is fine. Rebecca brings up the dream but he denies remembering anything about it and Levi tries seeing if talking about the punishment Nick and Laura will get him to open up but Declan sarcastically replies that he is thrilled. Dr Levi then tells him about PTSD and the symptoms of it but as much as the symptoms fit Declan all he says is that he is fine.
Hospital - Didge's room
Didge tries to grip and lift some pens with her weak left hand but fails just as Miranda comes in to see if she is up for some physio. She isn't amused to see Riley arrive with a wheelchair though but he and Miranda give her no option but to travel in it and she swings herself out of bed into it.
No. 26
Lou pops in to see how Jake is, still touch and go Ned and Janae tell him, and offer his help. Janae suggests that Mickey might like a visit from him and the three of them head into the livingroom. Jake seems to react positively to Lou, which cheers Mickey up but when Janae tries to see for herself Mickey stops her from coming too close to the dog. She plays it down although we can tell she is upset about it.
Ringwood aquatic centre
The Parkers arrive at the physio centre but Didge is still determined to walk the last bit and while her olds go get some coffee, Riley half walks/drags her to the pool reminding her that she can ask for help.
The General Store
Susan sees Rebecca and Declan enter the store as she finishes paying for her coffee and doughnut and goes over to apologise about everything that happened about the crash.
DECLAN: I think Bridget could use the apology more than me.
Rebecca does the thanking instead and Susan heads out of the store before she has a go at her son for his attitude, pointing out that it must have taken guts for Susan to apologise personally instead of giving them a wide berth. Rebecca wants them to go back to Dr Levi but he's having none of it and Harold gives him a friendly ticking off for running away when he comes over to take their order.
No. 26
Mickey is excitedly talking about all the things they can do with Jake now he looks to be getting better but Ned reminds him that he's got Tyler's birthday party. Janae adds in her two cents but Mickey is still blanking her and wants to know why when Ned follows her into the kitchen. Ned suggests that he is still worried about Jake but Janae points out that he is okay with him and Lou. He then suggests that she takes Mickey to Tyler's house but when she puts that to him, he doesn't want to go because of Jake and refuses to let Janae look after the dog while he is at the party, preferring that Ned does so instead.
Ringwood aquatic centre
Steve and Miranda watch on as Didge swims in the pool with James the physio. When she spots another girl being hoisted from the pool in a wheelchair (Francie involved in a car accident 3 months ago James informs us), this seems to make her more determined to carry on working when he suggests that she's had enough for the day.
No. 22
Ollie asks Paul to have a look at some contracts for him as Rebecca and Declan come home. They are talking about what Harold said in TGS - that Declan ran away (because of what happened to Didge) - and she explains that she didn't want to correct him so that a whole can of worms isn't opened if the truth was explained. Paul wonders what they are going to tell the neighbours but Ollie points out that it is up to Declan about what is or isn't said but all he can say on the matter is "you decide" before heading up to his room.
Ringwood aquatic centre
Miranda is full of praise for her daughter after a glowing testimony from James but this doesn't win her any favours from Didge when she tries to brush her hair. Didge sends her out to check if Steve has brought the car round and when she leaves, Didge starts to dress herself but gets frustrated when she can't get the sleeve round to her weak side and becomes even more so when she spots the girl who was being hoisted out of the water managing to dress herself fine.
No. 22
Rebecca is trying to get Declan involved in a family outing but he refuses to budge from the house and when she tries to get him to stop playing computer games, heads upstairs instead. She tells Ollie and Paul about Declan having nightmares and that the counsellor couldn't do much because Declan wouldn't open up. They then see Declan coming down the stairs and out the door, and Ollie volunteers to have a chat with his brother.
Ramsay Street
Ollie runs after Declan but he isn't in the mood to chat or be lectured at about what happened, reiterating that he isn't angry!
DECLAN: But if you were me and you were so angry you just wanted to smash a caravan...
OLIVER: Then I'd find a way of letting it out of my system. If I was you.
DECLAN: Which you're not.
OLIVER: Which I'm not and I happen to be angry, which you're not I know, then would you take that on board?
Declan replies "I don't know...might" before heading off.
Hospital
Riley cheers Didge up when he appears with a mixi tape and a walkman for her and concludes that because James gave her a glowing testimony she is ready to go home. Miranda and Steve don't exactly agree with that statement and Didge points out that the only thing keeping her in hospital is the physio and to back up her claim to go home, says that the doc thinks she'll be happier at home. Riley pipes up to say he doesn't think it is a good idea because she isn't well enough to come home which only antagonises Didge more to getting home. Realising they are beaten, Steve and Miranda head off to sign the papers and Riley wastes no time in telling her that she'll push herself too hard since he knows what she is like.
Their argument is interrupted when Steve returns offering her some good news - she can ditch the wheelchair if she can use support stick (like a walking stick but with 4 legs at the bottom for extra stability) and she wastes no time in getting out of bed to practise with it.
Ramsay Street
The Parkers arrive home with Didge just as Susan is in the garden. Oops, talk about bad timing! Steve and Miranda give her evil stares as they head inside with Didge, leaving Susan to watch on as a Didge with the aid of her parent's heads up the driveway.
No. 26
Ned and Janae welcome Didge home and she is barely 2 seconds inside before Miranda is fussing over her. Janae has to leave them when she gets a call from the party to say Mickey is unwell.
The General Store
Janae hands Mickey a bottle of Sprite to try and settle his queasiness but instead of sitting and chatting while he has the drink, the lad wants to get home. She questions him if he is really ill since she was worried when Tyler's mum called. "Are we going to see Jake or not" is all he says on that one and despite Janae reassuring him she was looking after the dog, he gets up and walks out of the store.
JANAE: (going after him) Mickey, don't walk away from me when I'm trying to talk to you.
MICKEY: You can't tell me what do to, you're not my mum.
Janae has a shocked expression on her face as she follows him out the door and we cut to Susan dropping off some clothes for the Salvo's clothes drive Harold is collecting for.
They chat aimlessly before Susan mentions that she saw Bridget come home. She starts to get teary at that point and Harold insists that she join him when he has his break.
No. 26
Bridget puts back onto the shelf a trophy she was looking at, just as Riley arrives and forces her to sit down. He explains that he is on her side but concerned that she does things too quickly and is only trying to help. Didge doesn't see it that way of course and the have a little tit-for-tat before Riley leaves and she places a squeeze ball into her bad hand ready to exercise again.
The General Store
Just as Paul is about to tuck into a piece of cake Lou has delivered, Rebecca reflects on how nice it is that she isn't going through things alone anymore what with Ollie off looking after Declan and Paul looking after her. "I must have done something right," she laments as Paul leans in for a kiss.
Oops, the good feeling is about to come to an abrupt halt as Ollie has just walked into the store! She wants to know where Declan is but Ollie explains that he doesn't know but then he remembers their conversation from earlier and muttering "I thought I was giving good advice," runs off saying he'll be back.
Caravan in the bush
Rebecca was right to have a concerned look on her face as we cut from Erinsborough to the bush and Declan throwing anything and everything out of the caravan he was held against his will in. With everything outside, he now takes a *big* stick and starts to whack the living daylights out of the van. Giving into his frustration, he throws the stick onto the ground and spots a 5l canister of fuel and heads inside with it.
Two seconds later in Neighbours time, he exits the van and stands a couple of metres back and pulls out a packet of matches as we head into the last commercial break.
Break over and he is going through the mental debate of will I/won't I strike the match when debate over, he strikes the match...just as Ollie runs into shot shouting Declan's name to get his attention.
"Don't do it" Ollie cries as he reaches him and Declan reminds him that he suggested it!
OLIVER: Come on, you know this isn't what I meant.
DECLAN: No?! Then how else am I meant to let it out of my system?
OLIVER: I don't know a punching bag or something. Go to talk to your counsellor
DECLAN: We call can't be saints like you.
Ollie snatches the matches off his brother, asking what kind of an idiot is he! Declan isn't happy that Ollie has the matches and starts to fight with his brother to get them back. They both end up on the ground with Ollie pinned underneath Declan. Declan pulls Ollie up and then thumps him back down against the ground until Ollie almost surrenders to him.
