Recap
Elle suggesting to Paul that Ollie buys Janelle's Lassiter's shares.
Bree realising Stinger's ashes are missing.
Sky getting ready to scatter Stinger's ashes because Terrance says they'll communicate better.
Skate Park
Just as Sky is starting to scattering the ashes, Bree shouts at her to stop. Thankfully she does and questions Bree why she is stopping her because it is what Stinger wants since Terrance told her. Bree isn't amused at Terrance 'telling' Sky to do that especially since he didn't know Stinger. Sky tries saying she is just doing what Stinger wants and Bree quickly counteracts with "by hurting everyone that loves him?" before reminding Sky that she isn't the only one who is grieving. Bree decides that she needs to leave before she says or does something to Sky and leaves taking Stinger's ashes with her.
BREE: You stay away from us until you get your head together.
No. 26
Janelle is looking over the contract Oliver has drawn up but she is a bit reluctant to sign, especially when Elle adds that she can trust them! Bree arrives back and tries to hide what she is holding and when asked her opinion on what to do, tells her mum to sign especially when Oliver adds that they will be the ones having control over Lassiter's and not Paul.
JANELLE: You trust her?
BREE: No, not really but I trust him.
JANELLE: Yes, me too.
Janelle then signs her family's shares over to Oliver. In return, he hands over a cheque and she thinks the decimal place is in the wrong place but he replies it is compensation for what Paul has done to her. Keeping her pride up, Janelle doesn't want to accept the cheque but Ollie then says that he also needs a favour from her... Elle then starts to say why they need the favour and gets the ball rolling my mentioning that Paul set up Dylan and Carmella and Janelle's ears pick up, wanting more info!
Garage
Lolly turns up for community service at the garage just as Janae is setting up a dummy human punch bag and doesn't waste much time in letting rip into it. She hands the gloves over to Lolly who isn't exactly putting in any heavy punches until Janae tells her to think of someone who has annoyed her. Lolly now starts to punch a bit harder and we find out she is imagining it is her biological dad because he wants her back. She perks up when Janae is very complimentary about the change in Lou since she has arrived and then sprinting over from nowhere comes Carmella to let rip at the dummy punch bag.
JANAE: You alright Rocky?
I'd love to know what Carmella is on because apparently she has just ran 10K, punched the living daylights out of the poor dummy but still feels fresh. She runs off and Janae remarks to Lolly if she actually wanted something!
Scarlet Bar
Janelle is not impressed at Dylan being set up and Ollie asks if she is ready for her Academy award winning performance?
JANELLE: Well I'm no Joan Collins but I'll do my best.
And on cue, Paul and Elle arrive in the bar. He wants to talk engagement parties but Elle points his attention to Janelle and Ollie talking and wondering what is going on. "There's only one way to find out," and the pair of them head to prime viewing position to watch.
OLIVER: Alright Janelle lets talk turkey. I'm prepared to offer you a lot of money for your shares.
JANELLE: You are wasting your breath.
OLIVER: Why?
BREE: 'Cos how do we know you aren't going to sell your shares to Paul Robinson?
OLIVER: (feigning innocence) You have my word.
At the bar Paul has one huge smirk on his face while Bree tells Janelle not to sell. Janelle then spots Paul and tells him that she is willing to sell to Ollie but not while he has any say in the business. She then makes her way out of the bar, followed by Bree and Elle and Ollie give each other a look as if to say part 1 done.
The General Store
Lou comes off the phone talking to John and tells Harold that he wants Louise home. Harold suggests that he talks to Lolly about it but informs him that John has already talked to her. Lou then says that he'll turn on the guilt trip if Lolly leaves, which earns him a ticking off from his friend.
HAROLD: It's called sacrifice, its part of being a parent.
Lolly comes in with Kerry so she can heat up her bottle because she is babysitting while Sky goes to work and Lou takes great delight in telling her what would they all do without her.
No. 22
Oliver lays it on thick that he thought Janelle was so ready to sign over her shares at the bar and Paul remarks that it was probably Bree who stopped her "because she is the head of that family." Ever so innocently, Elle suggests that Paul signs his 49% over to Oliver so that Janelle won't have a problem selling. Ollie backs her up by saying that he will sell them back to Paul once Janelle has signed. Paul wonders why they can't just come straight out and say that to Janelle but Ollie reckons that Bree would be onto them and it could lead to them asking for legal proof he is no longer involved.
PAUL: Mmm.
The wheels turn a few more times then Paul stands up and tells Oliver, "Is it too soon to call you son?" while shaking his hand happily before Oliver departs to get started on the legal work .
The General Store
Carmella gloats to Ollie how good she feels even after her long run so he thinks it is the right time to remind her about the forthcoming engagement party. Her good mood doesn't exist to going and wants to bail but he tells her she has to go and while she pulls him in for a hug, Paul enters the store. Ollie notices this and quickly removes her hand and thinking quick, says to her in a loud voice that he is marring Elle before heading out of the store.
After giving Ollie a reassuring pat on the arm on the way out, he heads over to Carmella and gloats that Elle, to be now known as 'the better one', won and tells Carmella to head back to the convent to do some 'nunning things'! Carmella doesn't mince her words though and tells him to "watch his back especially where Elle is concerned because you are going to get what is coming to you sooner than you think Paul." Paul totally scoffs at this suggestion.
No. 30
Ollie apologises to Carmella for what he did when he saw Paul at the store but she confesses that she might have done something, explaining that Paul got to her and said too much.
No. 22
Elle reassures her dad that there is nothing in what Carmella said, she just has it in for her and was just trying to make him paranoid, which she has obviously succeeded in doing.
ELLE: Who would you believe her or your own daughter?
No. 30
Ollie is starting to get worried that Paul may have believed what she told Paul especially since the contracts aren't signed! Carmella turns on the tears, apologising for what she has done and he takes pity on her, showing concern at her swinging moods of late. She assures him that she is fine and just wants everything to go back to normal.
OLIVER: It will. After tomorrow we'll get on with our lives yes.
CARMELLA: That's if I haven't blown it.
No. 22
Elle is trying the angry look to put Paul off the scent and he firmly asks her not to lie to him. She reassures him that she can be trusted. Paul has another of his 'funny' hearing episodes while she is talking to him and her facial expressions show that she does have some concern for her dad.
No. 26
As the ladies prepare supper, that mood is a bit sombre because of all those who aren't there so Bree tries to cheer them all up by asking what they are going to spend the money they just got for their Lassiter's shares on. Janelle replies that she is going to buy stocks and bonds for them all and while Janae chats to her mum about the money, Bree finally gets to put Stinger's ashes back where they belong. However as she is in the process, she is caught but gets her defence in first - she was returning him to where he belongs.
"Sky," Janelle says with a sigh. Bree says that she stopped Sky from scattering the ashes over the skate park. Janae and Janelle are not amused at what Sky did even if Bree thinks she is messed up atm.
The General Store
Lolly is taking delight in telling Lou that Janae's been teaching her loads at the garage but the good mood isn't going to last as Janelle comes storming into the store interrupting the meal they are having with Harold and Sky.
Janelle demands her house key back off from Sky or she calls the police. Harold wants an explanation but Janelle isn't giving one as she waits for Sky to hand over the key. Sky tells him that she took Stinger's ashes, which disappoints him and Lou and Lolly decide to leave the table.
Sky is still insistent that Stinger wants his ashes scattered while Janelle wants him home with her. Janelle is even less enthralled when Sky brings Terrance into the conversation and Harold tells her "to back off", "before he drives you mad," continues Janelle.
SKY: I'll make you a deal. You meet Terrance with an open mind. You listen to your son's words through him and if you still don't believe then I'll walk away.
HAROLD: It's worth a try.
JANELLE: Alright. I've got a few things I wouldn't mind saying to him that's for sure.
SKY: Good, 'cos I know once you've met Terrance we'll both be heading to the skate park to do what Scotty really wants.
No. 30
Elle interrupts Oliver and Carmella getting ready for bed (they are sleeping on the floor of the livingroom) to let them know Paul has signed his shares over to Oliver. Carmella hugs Ollie and he tells Elle that he'll transfer the shares into her name tomorrow and she in turn will use the shares as collateral to buy the Timmins family ones off of him. Confused?!
OLIVER: Your dad's got nothing!
ELLE: Yes. (Suddenly realising) I've got everything.
She bids the lovers a goodnight although Carmella isn't so sure that Elle doesn't have feelings for him. He assures her she doesn't, it's only pretending, and thanks her for her patience in it all and wonders how Paul face is going to look like after seeing his playhouse come tumbling down?
I'll spare you a bit, but Carmella is having trouble sleeping, unlike Ollie who is out of the count, and eventually she goes into her handbag and takes out some of the pills Dr Stone prescribed for her. She isn't jumping for joy when the alarm goes off at 4.30am for them to do their fruit & veg run after having only a couple of hours sleep.
Lassiter's hotel (later on in the day)
Paul is playing the doting father routine well with all the gathered random extras all dolled up in their finery. He remarks to Elle that there is no sign of her mother and she passes on the excuses as Ollie arrives and Paul decides its time for a speech.
He starts off by thanking everyone for coming to celebrate the engagement adding that he is please at her finding Oliver because the chap matches up to the expectations. Just as he is proposing a toast, Janelle, Janae and Bree arrive and take up prime viewing positions.
PAUL: I'd like to propose a toast if I could to two great business entities coming together, to two amazing young people but most of all, to love.
GATHERED: To love.
Paul then spots the added guests and remarks that Janelle has a nerve turning up, so Ollie suggests telling her the news about the shares. "I like the way you think," replies Paul. He heads off and with Carmella jealously watching, Elle adjusts Ollie's tie telling him that was "so naughty."
Paul catches up with Janelle commenting on them being a 'classy act' and she asks about his "Hannibal Lector grin".
PAUL: (gloating) Well you know how you sold your shares to Oliver? Guess what, he's going to sign them straight back to me, so here's to you Janelle. Thanks so much for giving me my precious Lassiter's back.
JANELLE: (playing the part) Oh I've been such an idiot.
Paul gives Ollie and Carmella the thumbs up but so does Janelle behind his back and Janelle continues to look glum while Paul walks back to Ollie and Elle.
The General Store
Sky fixes up a meeting with Terrance for Janelle to attend before she leaves with Harold to let Lou and Lolly chat. Both of them finally stop playing games and reveal that they've spoken to John about her going home. Lolly admits that she doesn't know what to do and he tells her to do what is best for her, that she is happy with what she chooses but he reassures her that he will cope if she decides to go back to her biological dad.
LOLLY: I'll let you know by the end of the week.
Lassiter's hotel
Carmella signals to Oliver that it is time to put the wheels in motion and he calls Elle over, saying "show time".
Elle calls to the gathered and Paul asks for a bit of shush.
ELLE: This has been a wonderful day and its all thanks of course to my wonderful dad Paul who has organised everything.
GATHERED: Hear, hear.
ELLE: How could you not love Paul Robinson? He is the epitome of the self-made man - successful, strong, determined, but what other true building blocks to a self-made man? Honesty, integrity, love for your fellow man. (Paul is looking very puzzled) Any of this ring a bell dad?
PAUL: Waiters, no more champagne for her!
(Gathered laugh)
ELLE: Success can buy you all the champagne and fake friends in the world dad but when you betray your own family to get what you want.
PAUL: (extremely puzzled) What are you doing?
ELLE: You'll see
JANELLE: Let her say her peace Robinson.
ELLE: I want everyone to know what you did to me. How you set up my boyfriend with Oliver's girlfriend to make it look like they cheated so that we would break up with them and Oliver and I would get together. All so you could get your grubby hands on his money.
PAUL: No, no, no, you two were in love. That's all that matters, you're getting married.
ELLE: No dad. That was all a part of the plan.
PAUL: (puzzled) What plan?
ELLE: To save you from yourself. (pause) I'd like to propose another toast, actually two. First of all to Oliver Barnes who helped me acquire this beautiful complex.
OLIVER: You signed over ownership. (gloating) You've got nothing.
ELLE: And to Paul Robinson who will never again control his daughter's life and who now understands the meaning of the word consequences. This is the first day of the rest of your life.
Janelle leads the gathered in a slow hand clap as it dawns on Paul what has happened.
