Number 26
Janelle's still listening in on Anne's tape but ah oh Bree's back. Janelle gets straight into her argument; Anne is weird. Lucky she was going through her things, because she found the tape with stuff about them on it. Janelle plays her some about how Anne can't stop asking them questions. She holds up some tapes, she bets they are all about them because they're dated from when Anne met Bree. Bree says Janelle's invading her privacy so Janelle asks about theirs. Bree comes up with a hypothetical, what if Anne had caught her. Janelle replies that a) Anne wouldn't see her and b) she has to justify herself. Bree reminds her she did go through her stuff. Janelle explains she accidentally knocked over Anne's bag and the tape recorder fell out. She's investigating them or something, so Janelle wants Bree to give her the flick. Bree doesn't want to though so Janelle plays her some more, trying to convince her it's weird. Well what Anne says about wondering what made Janelle, Janae the boys and Bree like they are is pretty suss.
Ramsay Street
Zeke's trying to get Audrey to roll over but without much success. Max and Katya are about to head off to the Tibetan thingo and Rachel notices how well dressed she is for it. Zeke fills Anne in on the fact they're just missing their sister. The car pulls away and we see Stingers walking up the street. Zeke says to Rach not to start talking about Stingers, she won't stop. The girls tell him to shut up and Anne asks Rachel to tell her all about it. They walk off and leave a lonely Zeke.
Number 24
Harold calls to Lou that he's making his famous vegetarian pie. Lou isn't so sure it's that famous, and anyway he's going out. Harold asks where which gets him nowhere, he thought that they could stay at home and have a chat. Lou says he'll be fine but Harold says that he says that but hasn't even properly explained what happened in Russia. Lou tells him that he's right, so put the kettle on and they'll have a chat. Harold's all happy, he talks about how in love with Mishka Lou was... well Lou isn't listening because he's left. Vamoose!
Tibetan Retreat Place
Max and Katya walk into the building and have a look around while taking their shoes off. Max was expecting men in dresses like last time, and he enjoyed it which kind of disturbs me... Max doesn't want the hippy stuff to get to them, they're just there to learn. The guide named Howard come sup and introduces himself. Max goes to shake his hand but ends up awkwardly bowing like Howard. Max asks if it's tea and coffee then straight into the study, he hopes there isn't any exams. Howard is a bit confused so Max asks if this is the language class. They find out this isn't a language thing at all, they immerse themselves into the Buddhist culture to get a better understanding by rising at 4 for traditional meditation and following a strict vegetarian diet. Katya doesn't look as surprised as Max, he brought some salami. Howard knows it's confronting but they will get a lot out of it. He leaves them and Katya says to Maxy that it's okay for them to go, she was only coming for the language classes. But lordy Max wants to go through with it!
MAX: This is going to be fun.
KATYA: I don't know.
MAX: No I promise ya. Up at four, lettuce leaves, carrot juice. What can be more fun than that?
Is he being sarcastic?
Number 26
Oh god Lou's back around at Janelle's trying to get something he wants to say out, but can't. He was wondering about something if she isn't too busy. Janelle gets sick of standing around the door so invites him in for a cuppa. Stingray asks a putting things in Anne's bag Bree what's going on, if it wasn't so weird he'd be worried. Oh Stingray be very, very worried! He goes to his course so Bree is all alone... perfect time to listen to a tape you're not suppose to listen to. Anne's talking about Bree's goth look and how her family don't get hoe smart she is. Ah oh Anne walks in and asks who's got her Dictaphone. Bree apologises but Anne doesn't want to hear it, she takes her bag saying she thought Bree was her friend before leaving. Janelle comes to see all the commotion just in time, Bree tells her it's all her fault before running out after Anne. Lou comes to the party and asks Janelle what's wrong Janelle replies kids are as mad as hatters.
Ramsay Street
We see Harold get in his car, then Anne walking down the driveway with Bree after her. Zeke and Rachel follow as Bree apologises for her and her mum listening to the tape. Anne is in no mood to talk about it, and of course no one notices the car. Zeke pulls Anne away just in the nick of time! Anne starts felling on the ground and Harold comes out of the car asking if she's alright and apologises.
Number 26
Lou's gazing adoringly at Janelle (eww) while she tells the story about throwing her shandy into someone's face. She finishes up and says that she can't sit around and chat all day, there's the vacuuming to do. Oh no, when she goes to get up she's a bit sore. It's her back giving her 'curry'. Hmm. Lou gets back pain too, agrees it's terrible. He asks why the kids can't do it for her. Janelle replies that she asks and asks but they never do it, so she guesses she'll just have to grin and bare it.
We cut to Lou doing the vacuuming in the lounge room. His back is giving him a bit of pain but the trooper is still doing it. Poor manipulated guy. Stingray goes into the kitchen to ask Janelle the question of the day, what's going on! Janelle says she told Lou about her bad back and how she couldn't possibly do the vacuuming. He's got the hots for her something chronic. Stingray changes the question of the day to what's going on with him. Janelle thinks maybe he saw her in the shower block at the caravan park. Stingray asks if she's not actually interested in him. Oh she is while he volunteers to do the housework. Stingray can't believe she's leading him on and says he'll dob her in.
JANELLE: Go ahead but the vacuuming is yours if you do.
STINGRAY: Lou's old enough to make his own mistakes.
The sound of vacuuming stops so they go to investigate. Lou's now cleaning the coffee table because hey it's all part of the job. Janelle leans down and says for a reward for all his hard work they'll go for dinner later. Lou looks up, cops an eye full of low cut top and looses all steadiness. He thinks that will be swell! Stingray's face basically says how we all feel. Ick.
Number 24
Harold's tending to Anne's cut knee, glad that Zeke was there to save her. He's fixed her up but he'd still like to get her checked out. Anne says it's fine, and when Bree asks about her shoulder and touches it, Anne moves away and says don't. Bree offers to call up Anne's parents for her so they can come get her but like always Anne doesn't want her to call them, saying it would only upset them so she'll get a taxi. Harold insists on driving her home to the point of her finally agreeing. Anne thanks Zeke for saving her, it might not have been gently but it's better than being run over. Bree once again apologises, she shouldn't have gone through Anne's things and it was just weird hearing that stuff. Anne explains that she can't see paper, so that's her diary. She was excited to meet Bree's family and friends who seemed to accept her for who she is. She wants to be a writer one day so that's why she's so interested in Bree and her family, they're her inspiration and she's sorry if she creeped her out. I don't buy it. But Bree does and take Anne's hand.
Tibetan Retreat
Getting sleepy... so very sleepy... ahem. Yes, everyone is meditating, Howard's hypnotic voice tells them to breathe in and out slowly... slowly... just let nothing but happy thoughts enter their mind. We go into Katya's happy thought, it's Zeke dancing around singing dressed as a girl. His song is red lemonade and it really is an award winning performance. Katya laughs out loud and gets told to shhh. Now we head over to Max, his happy moment is being in the kitchen, watching footy with his suit and Collingwood scarf on. Gah out of the TV comes Brodie Holland! He says they need a full forward and Max is their man. Max tells him he hasn't played in years and he's in his forties, he can't play. Brodie says that they saw him play down the park the other day, he's still got it. They need him, they've got gear for him so what is he waiting for. Max is really enjoying this thought!
Number 26
Harold's come over to tell Janelle about the accident, and that the kids want to go with him to take Anne home. Harold asks if they can have a candid word, so the kids go wait in the car. Just before Rachel can leave Stingray rushes up to her and asks the how's it going. She shrugs and says okay. Hmm. He asks how much longer the break is going to last. Rachel replies that he told her she was immature, so now she's trying to grow up. She's not going to get back together with him because he's sick of being alone. She's trying to be an adult about all of this, because that's what he wanted. Ouchey!
After the break we're now in on Janelle and Harold's candid chat. Harold thinks Lou must be upset (Janelle has said he isn't) because he loved Mishka very much. Janelle thinks maybe he just upgraded to a newer model. Harold's concerned that Lou might've got a certain fondness for her. Janelle says she's used to it, he's not the first bloke to clock her as a 'yummy mummy'. It takes Harold a second to register that before saying just as long as she knows that he's in a vulnerable state, and if she could just watch out for him. Well Harold leaves to take Anne home, after he's gone Janelle goes to the window and knocks on it. InOverallsLou™ appears and Janelle tells him he missed a spot on the window.
Tibetan Retreat
They're still meditating! Back in Max's mind Brodie tells Max that '02 and '03 hurt them bad and this time they aren't taking any chances, he's going out there with Max Hoyland by his side *cough*. Max is ready to pay the price, and be the captain for the day. Maxy boy opens the back door and runs into footy grand final fever!
Meanwhile Katya is in Scarlet Bar office dream world, she's telling Max how much his support has meant to her. He's become very special to her. Max says he's happy to be her friend. Katya isn't talking about friendship though, it's more than that. Max grins and that and NotInDreamWorldKatya™ does too.
Random Street Somewhere
Oh it's 21 Vincent Street, Harold tells everyone (thank you Harold). Anne asks if they are right in front of the house. Harry replies they are right in front of the path and he'll come up with her to talk to her parents. Anne says it's okay, they're still at work and she'll be fine from here. Bree helps Anne out of the car and everyone says their byes. Bree watches Anne go up the steps, she seems to know what she's doing. Harold says she's an inspiration to them all before driving off. And elderly woman comes to the door and asks if she's collecting. Anne says she isn't, she's lost and is wondering if she can use her phone to call her parents. The woman asks where she lives, Anne tells her it's Edenvale West. The woman says she's a long way from home and invites her in. Ooo suss.
Number 26 - Night
Bree has explained to Janelle about Anne's diary but Janelle isn't so convinced, she wonders about all the stuff about the family. Bree says Anne's a fan and a new friend, of course she's going to have about Bree in her diary. Janelle is sure there is something NQR (not quite right) about her. Lou comes in, he's finished cleaning out all of the rubbish from under the house. Janelle thinks he's such a sweetie. Blegh. Lou wants to go get cleaned up so they can have that dinner they were talking about. Janelle thinks that would be lovely, and tells the kids to look alive - Lou's shouting them a free feed. Rachel wants to go home but Janelle says that's rude, you don't knock back someone's kind gesture. So they all better be in the car in five! Everyone walks around leaving a poor Lou.
Scarlet Bar
Janelle isn't happy with Zeke's order of chips, when someone else is shouting you go for the top shelf in her book. Harold arrives in time just to hear Janelle's advice and the top shelf foods Janelle and Bree are getting. It's important to maximise the value of the meal. Zeke just doesn't get it.
Stingray orders a beer for Lou and a squash for himself. Lou asks him to join him in a beer but Stingray says he doesn't touch the stuff. Good boy! Lou has to go, nature calls again. Stingray takes the drinks and takes a sip of Lou's beer, only to be spotted by Rachel. He gets all defensive; he thought she didn't care what he did anymore. The girlie said nothing Stingers.
Harold asks Janelle if he can have another candid word with her. He's concerned that she might be taking advantage of Lou's fragile state by expecting him to pay for everyone's food. Janelle explains to him she's going as he asked, she's letting him down easy. Who'd be thinking of a night of romance out with those kids. Harold says that he's going away next week, he hopes she'll do the right thing by Lou. She tells him not to worry. Lou's back from nature and Janelle changes Zeke's order to salmon. Lou goes to order it giving Harold the perfect time to ask him if he's changed his mind and would like a quiet night at home. Lou hasn't, nothing can be better that where he is. A woman that can drown a beer faster than him and a lovely bunch of kids - instant family. Oh... dear.
Tibetan Retreat
Tis night time and they're still at it. Howard's telling them to concentrate on breathing, but I think they're concentrating better on their daydreams. Flash! We're in the Scarlet Bar and Max has won the game for the Magpies! I wonder if that's the real cup? Everyone's chanting Hoy-land, Hoy-land.
Over with Katya's dream world Max is saying that them being alone together is not a good idea, because these feelings they have for each other are not real right. Katya doesn't think they can just ignore it, it's love. Max warns her there is no going back... and holy moly they're kissing.
Howard brings them back from their meditative state and asks how they feel all feel. The mood is pretty good. Howard congrats them on their first day of meditation (which surprises Max) and tells them dinner is at nine. Everyone gets up... Max is amazed, everything feels so much clearer. Katya amazed at the things she thought about, they were intense. She asks what Max thought about but he won't say, it was mostly silly stuff and kind of personal. Katya knows what he means, hers was kind of embarrassing. They both agree it's best left unsaid.
