Carmella telling Cameron she can't tell him her secret, it is the reason she is trying to turn her life around.
Lyn getting served.
No. 26
Lyn can't believe this is happening to her and at the documents the court officials took and Steph tries to reassure her by saying this is a mistake and wonders why the patent hadn't been taken care of already. Lyn replies that it had a few months ago and again Steph tries to assure her that she invented the baby belt and it must be a fluke if someone else has also. Lyn tries to defend Paul against Steph by saying this is the last thing he needs.
STEPH: Mum, are you kidding? That guy thrives on crisis. Please just focus on yourself here alright.
Hospital
Max calls by to collect Katya for their language class and she is having major hesitations, so he assures her that he'll be with her on her journey to getting better.
KATYA: You could sell ice to the Inuits you know.
MAX: Nah, forget about them. They'll sell it to the Tibetans in their own language too.
This cheers her up and they leave after Max hands over a present from Steph - some Tibetan prayer flags obtained via Sky.
Scarlet Bar
Toadie is chatting to a client on the phone when SMC arrives and promptly removes it from his hear to have a go at him because Ned has lined up meetings with record producers on her behalf. He swears that he got rid of the recording and says that he replaced it with the Jive Bunny Megamix instead but promises to have a quiet word in Neddy's ear. Toadie's curiosity gets the better of him and he asks if she is really getting rid of attention or just a certain person giving her attention. SMC replies that it is about her commitment to god...but adds that the Mother Superior isn't impressed at her spending time with Ned. She apologises to Toadie for putting him in an awkward position but she doesn't want to hurt Ned's feelings and asks if he can steer Ned away for her, which he agrees to try his best to achieve.
SMC then heads off and passes Paul and Cameron at their table. Cam brings up what he told her last week and adds that he thinks he scared her a bit with what he was saying. Paul tells him to use it...if it means he is right in there.
CAMERON: She's a nun.
Paul is surprised to her him say that he hasn't been trying to crack onto her. Cam then asks if his dad is suggesting that he tries to blackmail a nun and Paul replies that he thought Cameron wanted to show his old man what he was made of and that Cam isn't up to taking over the reigns from his old man yet to allow him to retire. Cam doesn't know what to say to that by the looks on his face.
No. 30
Ned asks Toadie while he is pumping iron, to remind in to call SMC later as she has some tickets to a forthcoming Oodles and Noodles gig. Toadie reminds him about SMC wanting space but when Ned tries to call her, Toadie eventually tells him to lay off her. Ned isn't exactly relishing this news and the reasons Toadie is using.
TOADIE: The way you are with women mate. The ones who want you, you avoid and the ones who don't want you...you're obsessed with. It's quite sad.
NED: Rubbish.
TOADIE: Oh yeah? Okay. What about Elle, she was very keen and you ran a mile. Izzy, crazy and attached, you couldn't get enough of. Justine, she was plane crazy and now Carmella...she's a nun!
Ned bites back and asks who he is to talk and brings up Katya and the classic case of unrequited love which leads the two of them to have a little tit-for-tat with each other which I won't bore you with.
No. 22
Cam is trying to remind his dad about what being a nun means but Paul doesn't think that is a barrier, especially the chastity bit. Having a dig at his dad, he tells Paul that unlike him, he does have self-control and morality!
PAUL: BORING!
CAMERON: I knew you were beyond help!
Cam disappears up the stairs while Paul lets Lyn into the house. She shows him the writ and says that they are in a spot of bother.
PAUL: Oh no, not we, you!
Lyn is surprised to say the least and Paul says that his name is absent from the writ, so it is her that is in trouble as we head into the commercial break.
LYN: You set me up?
Paul denies this, pointing out that he gave Lyn a contract which stated she was responsible for it all. Lyn reminds him that it was on the go before she signed it then her face drops when gloating Paul says that he backdated it. (Lyn didn't notice the dates had been altered).
LYN: Paul, I was possibly the only friend you had left in the world.
PAUL: (changing what he was going to say) Nah, plenty of other suckers out there Lyn. I don't think I'll be alone for too long.
Scarlet Bar
Katya thanks Max for the lunch they've just had because a week ago she didn't think she'd eat out again. He reminds her that she is doing very well...until she stands up and Cameron runs straight into her and quickly apologises for it.
Max takes Katya into the office and reminds her that it was Cameron who ran into her and he isn't at all like his brother and that she'll have to get used to seeing him. She doesn't think so and he tells her that she can if she puts her mind to it. "Right," says Katya before they head off to their language class.
No. 30
Toadie returns from doing some running and they both apologise to each other for what they said earlier. Toadie decides to offer him some advice though - stop treating each date like it is going to lead to an exchange of rings and tells him to get some practice in by setting him up with a date tonight with someone he knows but Ned is reluctant to go.
Lassiter's Park
Max and Katya arrive for what be the weirdest language class I've ever seen. They are not in a classroom but in front of the rotunda where the instructor guy! tells them to take their shoes off before handing them a mat! Max points out the obvious, that they are there for Tibetan language classes and the guy tells them that they are in the right place and that the language is only one component of his classes! Max pulls off his shoes and the pair of them head into the assembled extra's.
No. 26
Steph tells Lyn that Oscar is asleep and assures Lyn that she isn't an idiot when Lyn starts to feel a bit down over what has happened. Lyn tells Steph that she's re-read the contract and is liable for the lot and asks Steph if she thinks Paul was using her from the start? Steph replies no, well until he saw trouble coming...and then he would have dumped his own mother in it. Lyn tries to say that Paul isn't that bad and that he's been through a lot lately too and Steph is wondering how she can now be sticking up for Paul. Tearfully Lyn says that she doesn't know, but knows that he wouldn't do this to her deliberately. Steph asks how many other people has she seen him do this to and when she tries to say that is different, Steph says it is the same and that she has to get a plan together to fight back to show Paul what she is made of.
Lassiter's Complex
Cam runs into SMC and asks to have a word with her but before he has a chance to get a word in edgewise tells him that it's none of his business and that she has no money to give him. He assures her that he isn't like his dad and isn't into blackmailing either before he finally says what he wanted to - that he is concerned for her. She tries to dismiss him saying that god now looks after her and wonders why he wants to be her friend when he starts to push her. "Because I feel we have a connection and I think I can help you," Cameron replies but is told that she doesn't deserve it.
No. 30
Toadie quickly hides the food he was eating and starts to push a dumbbell when he hears Ned arrive home, trying to prove he is still hard at it. He quizzes Ned on how his date went but he plays it quite cool...but he got her phone number. Toadie then quickly phones the guy he was talking to earlier and when he hangs up tells Ned the truth - he was actually helping him prove that a client's wife was being unfaithful thus invalidating the pre-nup, and I can't but help feel sympathetic when Ned realises that he has been used. Ned isn't amused when Toadie offers him a repeat performance to help rid the world of cheating Izzy's!
Scarlet Bar
Katya thanks Max for talking her into attending the language class. Max tells her he enjoyed it especially the mediation stuff and agrees with Katya that he is looking forward to going back next week. Just as they are ready to leave to take Katya back to the hospital, she says that they can go back...to collect her things as she has been given the okay to leave the padded cell. Max gives her a hug saying that is fantastic and seconds later Steph arrives. He kisses and hugs his wife and tries out some of the Tibetan he learned at class. Steph is a bit bemused until he translates that what he said was that she was beautiful. "Aww, I can deal with that," replies Steph before they have another kiss and a cuddle.
Katya thanks Steph for the prayer flags and enquires about how the class went. Max replies well before telling her about Katya getting to go home and Steph quickly hugs her saying that is fantastic news.
They depart through the main door as Toadie and Ned arrive in the side door and spot that Katya is out of hospital. Toadie wants to go after her and Ned stops him, reminding Toadie of the earlier lecture he received on going after unavailable girls. Ned jokes that Toadie would stop him speaking to SMC if she were to walk in...and guess who waves to them as she passes - yes that is right SMC herself!
TOADIE: This sucks.
NED: Yip.
TOADIE: We should just give up on the lot of them, they're not worth it.
NED: What stop dealing with women altogether?
TOADIE: Not exactly...
Ned then agrees to continue helping Toadie right the world of cheated husbands on condition he gets a cut of the profits! Toadie eventually gives into a 20% cut and Ned getting an expense account.
No. 22
Paul is surprised to see that Cameron is going out and is disappointed to find out that it is just to hire a DVD. Cam has a go at his dad for being in a similar position but Paul points out that a quick phonecall can rectify that. Cam then remarks that he wonders what he saw in his dad before leaving and runs into Lyn as he does so and shouts out that Paul has a visitor before leaving.
Paul tries to tell Lyn this is not a good time to call but is firmly told "too bad". He then tries to say that he can't help her anymore but Lyn doesn't think that and firmly tells him that she isn't going to clear up his mess for him. Paul points out that she literally signed her life away. "True," replies Lyn but then points out things that Paul has signed in the course of his business too...especially the creative tax returns.
Scarlet Bar
Steph is reading some details in a notebook when Toadie interrupts wanting a drink and wondering where Max is. She replies that he is helping Katya and both agree that it is good news she is out of hospital. Steph then mentions what she was doing - keeping an eye on the RSR's trying to work out who dobbed her into the council. Toadie says that she should let it go but Steph is insistent on getting the culprit even if her detective work is proving unsuccessful. He adds that it is probably the most unlikely suspect...like Zeke because he lives on a different planet! Steph seems very interested in Toadie's theory.
No. 22
It looks like Paul has "accepted" Lyn's proposal and he enquires how she is going to use it.
LYN: You actually need to ask me? That I'm going to bring you down of course.
PAUL: Really?
LYN: Think I can't do it? Won't do it? Nothing in the world will stop me. I'm not losing everything I own.
PAUL: Those sound like fighting words.
LYN: They do, don't they. After what you've just done to me I'm not lifting a finger to help you, you can rot in...
Just as Lyn is about to say hell, Paul reaches over and begins to kiss her and we're not talking about a quick peck on the lips either!
