Recap
Max is mad at Boyd for marrying Janae
Janelle tells Susan that she thinks Lyn is in love with Paul
Erinsborough Hospital
Lyn tentatively tries to touch Paul's head and when she does he wakes up. She nervously tells him she'll take care of everything until he gets back on his feet. Paul is glad and tells her to stop waffling on - he's had enough fussing. Lyn tells him she was just worried about him. When she looks away Paul has a big grin on his face.
Scarlet Bar
Steph arrives with baby Charlie, who Max is looking after today while she holds the fort at the bar for a bit. Janae and Boyd walk in and Max remarks about them being back, before leaving. Steph is happy to see them and asks how the hotel was. They confess they went camping instead because they'd rather spend the money on other things. Steph thinks Max would be impressed by their frugality, which Boyd doubts. Steph is sure he'll come round eventually and invites them over for dinner, which Janae agrees to.
Susan comes in the door and sees Karl talking to some workmates. Karl springs up and whispers about whether they're still on for tonight. Susan says yes and Karl thinks it's good she's keeping her cool, before diving back to his friends. Susan looks a bit troubled.
Number 30
Ned interrupts Carmella praying. Toadie is down at the police station, making a statement about Connor. Toad let her stay to get her head together but she thinks she might head back to the hospital now. Ned says Connor's probably in a country pub somewhere and that's what Carmella prays for. But she can't help thinking that if something has happened it's all her fault; after all, she was the one who told him where she'd seen Rob. She breaks down and hugs Ned, who says he's sure Connor's okay (although he doesn't look too convinced himself).
Number 28
Zeke is messing about with weights, trying to build up his arms. Susan thinks he's starting to sound like Stingray and wonders what brought on his change of image. When she hears it's to do with Bree she assures him he won't get dumped as she likes him just the way he is.
There's a knock at the door and Zeke rushes off as his look isn't quite right yet. Bree comes in, all black hair, dark lippie and white face powder, like Wednesday Adams. Susan recognises it's Bree by her eye rolling and Bree isn't impressed. Susan says Zeke is out and questions her about her look. Bree informs her that her Paris Hilton look was an aberration and this suits her better. She walks off before Susan can reply and Zeke appears, asking if he can borrow Susan's eyeliner.
Erinsborough Hospital
Paul wants Lyn to fire the PA guys as they didn't do any publicity for the baby belt. He also wants her to evict the bakery people. Yes, he's in evil mode and won't change his mind.
Carmella comes in and Paul remarks that it must be fancy dress day - he knows Carmella's past and can't take her seriously. Carmella ignores him and asks if she can change his flowers. All Paul wants is her to leave - he doesn't want her smugness when there's real work to be done. Lyn whispers an apology as Carmella leaves.
Lyn understands he's been through a trauma but - Paul informs her that the only traumatic experience was him trusting his own flesh and blood. And that's not going to happen again. Lyn says he can talk to her and Paul appreciates it. He takes her hand and, with false sincerity, tells her that he knows he can depend on her no matter what. He kisses her hand and Lyn makes excuses to leave. Once she's gone Paul chuckles, evilly.
Karl's Flat
Karl has organised a romantic night for Susan, complete with appropriate music, wine and candles. But Susan would rather just talk.
She begins with how wonderful the last few weeks have been (Karl agrees). But Susan feels like she's living in a fantasy world. When she saw him with his two (female) work colleagues at the SB, she couldn't help but think of Sarah and Izzy....she knows it's completely paranoid, but she's just being honest. Karl is glad she's honest and doesn't think she's being paranoid.
He broke her heart and she can't pretend it didn't happen. The fear that it's going to happen again is still an issue for her and she doesn't know where that leaves them.
Karl decides to put the kettle on.
Scarlet Bar
Max is back - he couldn't stay away from Steph any longer. Steph mentions the idea of a meal with the newlyweds and Max thinks they can have dinner but only with her. He doesn't want to listen to Janae go on and on about their honeymoon. Steph says Janae won't do that -
Number 30
- but she is now, looking at honeymoon photos with Boyd. ShirtlessNed™ appears, bringing our attention to the fact that, yes, he is shirtless, by asking where all his shirts have gone. He can't find any of them.
Once he's gone Boyd asks Janae what's going on and she confesses she's been hiding his shirts because when he appears shirtless on the webcam, her hits go through the roof!
JANAE: All the girls on the forums are mad about him!
Boyd moans about the double standards - he couldn't do the same. Janae points out that ShirtlessNed™ means more money for them - can they afford to lose that?
Scarlet Bar
Steph can't believe Max's snobbishness when he says Janae isn't Hoyland material. Max says he means she's immature.
Number 30
Boyd wonders how Janae can have dinner with Max after him threatening to get their marriage annulled.
JANAE: He's not going to do that
Scarlet Bar
MAX: I ought to.
Steph can see who's being the immature one in all of this (clue: it's not Janae).
Number 30
Boyd won't back down...
Scarlet Bar
And neither will Max. Steph gives him a look.
Karl's Flat
Karl thinks this is also his problem - he was the one who gave her the reason to mistrust him in the first place. He's come to the realisation that he only wanted out of their marriage because he was terrified of getting old and he would have done anything to feel young again.
SUSAN: I think the pink Argyle vest was the lowlight for me.
He wishes he could blame Izzy but he can't. She showed him what a fool he was. He can feel a punchline coming up (he knows Susan so well). So well that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He could give so many reasons why but the main reason is:
KARL: I absolutely adore you.
Susan smiles but she can't just put her fears to the side. Karl has fears too. He tells her (honestly) that he's never loved anyone apart from her, but she won't be able to say the same thing; there'll always be Alex.
Susan says that, even so, she wouldn't ever regret the last few weeks. But all hell will break loose once Rachel and Zeke find out.
Susan realises she's killed the mood but Karl says it was important. They decide to go for a walk and Susan says that, with it being dark outside, they might even be able to hold hands.
Erinsborough Hospital
Paul is getting at Carmella again and she won't take the bait. So Paul decides he can use her to get the doctors to release him from hospital. Carmella tells him she can't, not being a nurse - they'll release him when he's ready.
Ned is in the corridor with Karl, talking about some gigs, and is gone totally Take That: early nineties era, wearing a too small denim jacket while shirtless. Justine is going to help out again and Karl wonders what she's doing it for - romance or fame? Ned thinks she's just helping out but Karl is convinced Justine is the new Sharon Osbourne and Ned is her Ozzy. Ned is mightily confused but Karl can't explain as Paul is making a lot of noise.
Karl finds Mr Robinson up and dressed. He needs to go and see his son and Karl has no legal way of making him stay.
Paul runs into Lyn and signs a bunch of forms before laying a big kiss on her lips. Lyn is *very* takenaback.
Number 26
Janae comes in to find GothBree™. Or GothPunkBree™ as she informs her sister. She wants help with her make-up but Janae has to go and tell people about the wedding. Bree remarks that neither of them are Timmins anymore but Janae says they always will be, deep down. Bree says people are identified by genes and surnames and she doesn't have that - an identity.
Zeke appears in an emo/grunge type outfit and Bree asks why he always copies her. He wants to change for school but Bree wants to prove how edgy he is by wearing his outfit to school.
Scarlet Bar
Susan tells Lyn that she thinks she and Karl have a chance of making things work. Lyn tells her that she's had a hell of a morning.
Steph appears with Charlie on her hip and tells Max that she forget to write a booking into the book - four for a table on Friday, name 'Hoyland'. Max argues about changing it to three as she argues for four. He says there's no point in making it for four, as he won't be coming. Steph says there is - she will have worn him down by then.
Susan can't believe that Lyn is evicting people but Lynnie can see it from a business point of view. Susan wonders if it has something to do with her feelings for Paul. Lyn says she hasn't any feelings and she resents the implication. Lyn can make up her own mind about things. Susan raises her eyebrows.
Number 30
Janae shows her school friends her photos that Bree has nicely photoshopped to make it look like they had a grand wedding and stayed at a five star resort.
Once they're gone Boyd tells Ned he wishes Janae didn't have to lie. Ned says she's just faking it for her friends and she loved the ceremony the way it was. Ned envies Boyd. Not only does he have a proper shirt, he has a stable relationship. Boyd, not being able to stand Ned's boy band getup any longer, tells him that his shirts might be in the water heater cupboard.
Police Station
Cam is really angry about Rob and is sorry he can't help his dad while he's in here. Paul says he can see a lot of himself in Cam and he's so sorry for not believing him. He does realise that Robert won't give up until he's finished Paul off, but Paul is adamant he'll triumph. First thing he'll do is get Cam out, then they'll both find Robert and get their pound of flesh.
PAUL: More than a pound.
(And all this said in front of a police officer.)
Scarlet Bar
Steph asks about Tom and Karl says he's been up to check on him - he's complaining all the time, as ever. Susan appears and knows straightaway who they're talking about. Karl says he's really stubborn and Steph knows someone else like that (as she looks blatantly at Max).
Lyn says the people she fired were a bit shocked. Paul takes delight in such reactions. Lyn is amazed that Paul is still so tough after all the traumas he's been through. Paul says lesser men don't have as much to get out of bed for as he does.
Boyd and Janae come in and Steph fixes their drinks, leaving Max to ask about the surf on their honeymoon. Boyd isn't in the mood to talk and the conversation trails off.
Carmella and Ned come in. Ned would like to give singing lessons but isn't qualified. Carmella gives some at the childcare centre and invites Ned along - it could lead to better things. Ned thanks her.
Susan whispers to Karl about seeing him in five minutes and then leaves. Max decides to ask Karl about Tom's funny road trip story (to avoid talking to Boyd). Max blabbers on about the time Bobby had him taking bets, which did wonders for his mental arithmetic (which he demonstrates). Karl is very uncomfortable and obviously wants to leave.
Karl's Flat
Karl bursts through the door and Susan shouts that she thought he wasn't going to show.
The Hallway outside Karl's flat
Zeke doesn't know why Bree wants to come and watch the footy with him and Karl on their blokes' night.
Bree walks on ahead as Zeke is hopelessly tangled in his goth outfit and who should she see but Karl and Susan full-on pashing and then closing the bedroom door behind them.
