Recap
Sky still has a chance to put her name down for the art exhibit tonight
Connor tells Dylan that he's hasn't managed to dig up anything on CamRob
Lou tells Mishka that he no longer owns the General Store
Number 24
Mishka and Sky talk about the gallery - Sky doesn't want to go anymore. Mishka can see the attraction between Sky and JP but Sky insists that she loves Dyl - she's in lust with him too. Mishka thinks that's good as love alone is not so exciting.
Dyl appears and Sky tells him she isn't going to the gallery anymore. But Dylan is adamant she should go for the good of her career (although he won't be coming as he hates arty snobs). But he will be waiting for her coming home. After annoying Mishka with their pashing, Sky walks Dylan home.
General Store
Elle is flat out and doesn't want Paul to annoy her right now but Paul is only here to help (and to spend time with her).
Connor appears, wanting to put some posters up, but Paul won't have it as he knows he's been spying on them. Seems he isn't as good a PI as he might think. Connor brings up Paul hiring him to spy on Ned a while back and Elle can't believe it. Paul tells Elle that Connor's been following CamRob and demands to know who paid him, only for Connor to walk away.
Paul can tell Elle knows something. She eventually tells him that Dylan thought that CamRob was trying to turn Paul against him. Paul thinks he's paranoid; if it was him who hired Connor then any bit of respect he had left for him would be out the windae.
Number 24
Mishka and Sky get on well and this leads Lou to ask about her kids but she wants to know about his. Lou thinks they have a lot to tell each other and some of it isn't easy to tell.
Scarlet Bar
Max pays Connor for his PI work regarding the graffiti menace. Connor notices that Karl is playing a lot of songs tonight and Max is similarly disheartened at the prospect of an evening with Dr Rock: Unplugged.
Karl asks Max for advice for his gig and Max tries not to appear uninterested. Karl confesses he's putting his heart on the line with these tunes; he's written a song for Jenny and about her moving in. He goes on about her being very keen and wanting to go for a 'personal best' until Max reminds Karl that Steph has just given birth and she just wants to sleep all the time.
KARL: Hey, look on the bright side.
MAX: Yeah, what's that?
KARL: I'm getting plenty.
*lol*
Anyhoo here's Neddy to save us and he's angry about being advertised as Karl's support act when he didn't agree to play at all. Max doesn't have a scooby about what's going on. Ned discovers it's all Connor's doing.
Number 24
Lou tells Mishka that he was too busy keeping roof over his kids' heads to be their friends. Mishka thinks parents don't need to be friends with their kids. He's ended up low on their list of priorities. Mishka can tell he's hurt about it and it shows her that he's a good man.
Sky appears in a Japanese inspired outfit and they think she looks great. Mishka tells her not to let herself get carried away with her feelings for JP (in coded form) and Sky gets what she means.
Once she's gone Mishka asks why he hasn't kissed her. He doesn't think it's that simple...it would take a long time to explain. Mishka only likes long stories. Lou smiles and gives her a kiss.
Number 26
Paul is not in the best of moods. Dylan can't deny that he hired Connor and he says he was stupid and wrong to do so. Paul can't believe he has repaid his generosity in this way. He had started to think of him as a son. Thank goodness CamRob turned up to show him the difference. Dylan defends himself, saying the missing money and accident weren't his fault and he was trying to prove that. Paul thinks he sounds pathetic and he doesn't believe him. Dylan can't believe he turned his back on his own dad for Paul: Kim would never doubt him. Paul thinks Kim's a real fool then. Dylan retorts that Kim is what a real father is all about. He shows Paul out.
DYLAN: And, for the record, you couldn't pay me enough money to be your son!
Paul gives him a look.
Art Gallery
Sky almost leaves but then JP sees her and won't accept that she's only come to say hello and then go. JP says the picture of her has got people talking and Sky reassures him that people will love it. JP is a bundle of nerves and won't last much longer without her - can she cancel whatever else she was going to do? Sky says okay.
JP tells her that he told the gallery owner about her. Sky doesn't want to meet anyone but JP tells her it'll be fun.
Number 22
Elle asks Paul if he's seen Dylan and Paul tells him that he was behind Connor stalking CamRob. But he was spot-on about Paul not having any faith in him. Elle says there wasn't any other explanation for what happened. Paul thinks he might have been a bit too hasty in firing him. Elle admits that he was a good manager. Paul thinks he's just too good at stuffing up his relationships; with Gail, his kids...
But now, Elle reminds him, he's trying to make things right. He's even hired someone in the UK to track down Robert. Elle reassures him that, when they find him, they'll do everything to bring him back home.
Scarlet Bar Office
Lyn is hanging about, looking at her mobile as it's Joe M's night to call and Max thinks she could call him. Lyn brushes it off as not being that important. But Max manages to get her to admit that she thinks she shouldn't have to call him. It's just like Joe M to get distracted. Max thinks that means she should ring him.
Scarlet Bar
Connor comes in wearing a t-shirt of Ned and Ned grumpily says he ain't singing. Karl comes over and muses about changing the order, leading Max to get all uptight about it, telling them they can't change anything at this late stage. Karl wouldn't mind inflicting the audience with more new material if Ned doesn't want to sing but Max explains that it's purely business; he'd have him on every night if he could!
Ned thinks that Karl is not half bad and therefore can have his slot. Max tells Ned that a lot of people are here to hear him sing (but not all of them, so as to save Karl's ego). Ned proposes that he and Karl do a Simon and Garfunkel and duet. Karl agrees. Connor knew Ned couldn't let his legions of fans down because he's nice.
NED (grumbles): And you're insane.
Art Gallery
Sky and JP think that everyone is full of themselves. Sky tells him that she got an appointment with the gallery owner. JP advises her not to get too carried away but he knows she'll see the potential in her, as he has.
JP thinks the best way to deal with these stuffed shirts is more booze and then getting out of here (Sky will just be doing the getting-out-of-here bit). Sky smiles.
Scarlet Bar
Karl shows Ned the lyrics to 'River of Lies', composed after he broke up with Izzy. Ned looks confuzzled.
Scarlet Bar Office
Lyn is still waiting. Max admits that he isn't that comfortable with Paul's involvement in the baby belt stuff. Lyn starts to tell him that Paul is drawing up a contract when Joe Mangel calls at last. Joe pretends he was confused about daylight savings time. Max thinks he's good.
Scarlet Bar
Elle tells Dylan that she defended him to Paul and hopes they can still be friends. Dylan has nothing against her, just her dad. Elle forgot that Ned-the-tragic boy-band-wannabe was here and is about to leave but decides to stay to prove to Dyl that she doesn't care about him anymore.
Number 22
Lyn wants to talk to Paul about work - she wants to be more than his PA. Paul would rather talk about it tomorrow. Then Lyn admits it's Joe; he has a different excuse every time about why he can't come down to see her! Paul offers her an Irish coffee, but only if she tells him the full story about Joe. Lyn smiles.
Scarlet Bar
Dr Rock and Ned finish up on 'The River of The Soul' (what's with all the rivers?). Ned goes to get a beer and Max thanks him for making an appearance. Connor wants Ned to admit that he liked making everyone smile with his singing but Ned is still in evil mode and won't.
Ned tells Elle that he understands why she's been avoiding him. He's sorry for treating her like Izzy treated him. Elle says they'll be okay but only if he never speaks to her again.
Karl is singing about Jenny: he's a very happy doc because he's on Jenny time now.
MAX: Oh God, make it stop.
Art Gallery
Sky can't believe it's ten o'clock already! She hasn't even seen his painting yet. JP asks if she's ever hidden in a gallery, been locked in overnight. Then they have all night to check out the art.
SKY: Check out the art?
JP: Well, what else would we do?
Art Gallery
Later on, when everyone has left, Sky sees JP's painting. She likes it and JP almost wishes he hadn't sold it. He thinks it's the greatest thing he's ever done; she looks beautiful. He stares at her intensely for a while, which can only mean one thing. When they break away Sky looks at him, then kisses him back.
