Recap
- Paul telling Ned he believes Izzy over her "affair" with him.
- Karl telling Kim that he's not Bree's father.
- Bree not believing Kim when he says he and Janelle are not fighting and demanding to know what's going on.
Number 26
Bree is telling her folks to work out their differences so she can get on with being a great composer (with the help of the keyboard she won). But Janelle and Kim are still arguing, even though it's just between them. Kim manages to convince Bree to get ready for school so he and Janelle can talk. Impassioned, he tells Janelle not to drag Bree into this.
Ramsay Street
Angie suffers a shopping bag malfunction and who should come to her aid but CamRob™. Paul appears and asks his son if he's seen Izzy, who wasn't there when he woke up. He likes to know where she is. CamRob™ thinks she'll be back home soon. The girl herself appears, jogging up the street towards them, and Angie and CamRob™ conveniently disappear off as Paul interrogates Izzy about where she was: he likes to know where she is. She promises to take that into account next time.
General Store
Elle puts a new member of staff through her paces then spots Bree (clearly not happy to see her). She asks Bree, outright, what she's doing there if she isn't going to buy anything. Karl comes in and hears Bree say that Harold didn't mind her sitting here. Elle thinks that kind of attitude might have helped him out of business. Karl comes over as Elle tells her to leave again, and orders a banana milkshake for her.
Bree thinks you wouldn't need a test to know whose daughter Elle is. Karl asks if she's okay and she tells him about the fighting. She thinks she's done something wrong as she was on her dad's side about the whole operation business: now maybe Janelle feels a bit betrayed.
Number 30
Bob watches as Toadie and Stu discuss recycling dirty clothes. Toadie has been thinking that he might tag along with Stu when he goes to Oakey. Stu likes the idea.
Angie appears with some food for the boys; only it's not the kind of food they like. Toadie can't even identify it (one thing is a banana). Angie thinks they could do with some detoxing. Angie leaves and Stu moans about having to wait months to sit his senior constable's exam (thanks Ned). Angie appears again to tell Toadie of this checkout girl she saw today who has hips 'just made for childbirth'.
TOADIE: Oh, that's fantastic, Mum. I hope you're very happy together.
She's coming for dinner for dinner on Friday and Angie wants Toad to be there. Which means that Toadie wants to leave for Oakey tonight.
Number 26
Kim reels off a list of possible blokes who could be Bree's father. He attacks Janelle's past tendency to be nice to one of these men and she reminds him that they were always behind on the rent so it wouldn't have done to be nasty. She can't believe he's treating her like this and tells him she's never been unfaithful, despite the many opportunities she's had.
JANELLE: The results are wrong! I don't care what Karl says!
Kim tells her that science never lies and wants to know if his kids are really his. Janelle looks stunned.
Number 22
CamRob™ hides something black behind a cushion on the sofa. Paul thinks he's a bit of a do-gooder but CamRob™ just wanted to get his hands on Angie's scones. Paul just hopes that's not a euphemism. Paul is really rapt to have CamRob™ back, even if he hasn't shown it. CamRob™ understands and Paul asks if he still horse rides (he does).
Izzy appears, talking very noisily on the phone before hanging up. Paul asks who it was and she says it's someone telling her how they can combine their energy bills to save money. Paul finds the fact that she said she'd call them back a little strange. She leaves to get her hair done.
CamRob™ (who must be good at such things) says he could always call the salon to check. Paul says he doesn't have to. CamRob™ knows about how Izzy was in the past, thanks to Elle, and commends his father for having a good effect on her. He offers Paul a scone but Paul's too busy staring off to where Izzy just left, thoughtfully.
Number 30
Angie offers the boys more tofu but there are no takers. Toadie tells her that he's 'gonna nick off to Oakey for a bit'. Angie wants to know why he's going and Toadie says, in addition to helping out on the farm, Stu's been a bit depressed about the whole divorce thang and he could support him. It's only for a few weeks and Toadie hopes she won't mind. Angie says she's used to all the men in her life walking out on her and is a bit dramatic about being let down all the time. Toadie says it's not the end of the world and she can still hang out with Connor and Ned (yes, Connor and Ned. Sounds like fun).
Janelle arrives in tears and the boys make themselves scarce as Janelle wails and tries to hug Angie, who would clearly rather she didn't.
Number 26
Kim tells someone over the phone that he hasn't got anymore DVDs this week. Bree comes in and asks how his talk with Janelle went. She admits she knows it's all her fault - siding with him over the op and all. Kim appreciates her support and tells her that's not the reason they're rowing. Bree wants to come with him if he's going to go off again. Kim promises her he isn't going anywhere and pulls her into a hug.
Number 30
Angie and Janelle agree there's been a major stuff-up with the tests. Janelle is more worried about Kim automatically believing the worst of her. Angie thinks he should be ashamed of himself: she believes Janelle. Besides, in a place like Colac, you know when someone's playing around. She was a shocking flirt but that was it. Angie tells her that she has to put a stop to it: she has to go hard on the attack and give it to him right between the eyes.
General Store
In the kitchen Paul tells Elle off for the lousy figures. CamRob™ watches in the background, looking very creepy. Paul wants the takings to be better and for no more customers going on about how wonderful it was in Harold and Lou's time. Elle reminds him that he should be having a go at Dylan too. Paul will but it's his day off. Elle is fed up being SuperElle; running Lassiter's, this and having her uni course too (where does she get the time?) Paul reminds her she managed to go to a day spa yesterday so he thought she was on top of everything. He tells her to lift her game and leaves.
CamRob™ reassures her that she's doing a good job. He tells her that Paul thinks Ned and Izzy are still having an affair and this is what he's in a state about. But (seeing his sister's face) he's sure nothing's going on. He promises her that he's on her side and their dad will be too - eventually.
Scarlet Bar
Stu has on a very interesting shirt (blue with embroidered flowers) which slightly distracts from this scene. He's musing that he was meant to be going home with Sindi and not Toadie, who's no way near as good looking (even when he smiles). Toadie thinks it's time for some honesty: he knows Stu is still in love with Sindi and it's not over until the 'skinny cop' sings. He should give it another go. Stu sends him to the bar to get another drink.
Kim apologies to Karl for his behaviour. Everytime he looks at Bree he feels slightly sick inside. Karl says a lot of doctors withhold this information for that reason. He has to remember that none of this is Bree's fault - she's a credit to him, no matter what way you look at it. Kim agrees that she's amazing and is interrupted by his wife, who tells Karl that she wants the tests run again and - this time - he's going to do all of them. She doesn't care how much it costs as Kim will be paying. She tells her husband that she's no cheater and she'll prove it, if she has to.
Number 22
Paul, Izzy and CamRob™ are watching telly when Paul digs behind the cushion and finds a black sock (which Evil Robert so hid earlier on). It isn't Rob's and Paul looks to Izzy to explain. She doesn't know and wants him to just admit it. Paul reminds her about Ned saying there's still something going on between them and the sock...Izzy won't even answer as it's clear he won't believe her. Paul wants to believe her but she's making it so hard. Elle jumps to Ned's defence, saying he isn't a liar and wishes Izzy would put her father out his misery and admit to it. Izzy argues that she doesn't know a thing about adult relationships and they squabble until CamRob™ tells them to stop it: saying it's his sock, after all - he just didn't remember it. He walks off and Elle tells them off: they know how much he takes everything to heart.
Number 30
Angie coaches Janelle in how she should act when the tests come back and prove Kim is the father. Janelle called Big Kev up and she knows he's going to patch things up with Ange. Angie is amazed, given that they hated each other, that Janelle could do such a thing. Janelle was too. They both agree that the aggro hasn't gone; it's just temporarily redirected in the direction of their mongrel husbands. Boxing Day wouldn't be the same otherwise.
Scarlet Bar
CamRob™ comes in and introduces himself to Karl, telling him about wanting an orderly position. Karl says he can't influence positions but CamRob™ doesn't want special treatment. He just hopes that Karl won't hold his issues with Paul against him. Karl won't judge him on anything but his work. CamRob™ thanks him and Karl says he's made an excellent first impression.
Paul comes in and apologises to CamRob™ about before. CamRob™ wouldn't be anywhere else. Paul wants to make it up to him by going horseriding sometime. He says yes and wants to invite Elle and Izzy too.
Number 30
Toadie spots Stu on the phone and dashes off again. Stu tells Sindi's answer machine that's he's heading to Oakey and he was going to send the divorce papers but wants to remind her of a dream they once had: growing old in a big country property together, with loads of kiddies at their feet.
STU: You might not want that anymore but I do. And I want it with you. I love you, Sindi.
He hangs up.
Number 22
More tempers and tantrums at number twenty-two. Elle yells at Izzy for not admitting to her affair. Izzy thinks that Elle planted the sock. Elle thinks it's typical of her - trying to get others to take the blame. She and Cam(Rob) are the only two good things in Paul's life. Izzy asks if she's evil. Elle thinks you cut out the malignant parts - just like the fictitious tumour Izzy dreamed up that was in Paul's brain. The sooner Paul realises he's better off without her, the better. Izzy tries to throw spoons at Elle as she runs away but misses. What a crazy ol' house.
Number 30
Stu is staring at the phone and tries to help Stu out by offering food but he ain't hungry. Toadie sneaks in with pies and The Godfather parts I to III. It might be a long wait but Toad will be right there with him. Stu comes to the conclusion that Toadie's a nice bloke. The boys realise that they have no sauce to go with their pies - doh!
General Store
The GS is all closed up for the night when someone comes in. It's Robert (in the guise of himself). He unsets the alarm and goes into the kitchen before pulling something out of a bag he's holding and putting it in the fridge.
Number 26
DNA tests at the dinnertable. Janelle tells Bree that they have to do it again as the last test got a mucked up. She thinks it's better as they're now all getting tested at the same time and won't that be good for Bree's project? Too bad the unseen older Timmins boys aren't here too.
Bree leaves and Karl tells Janelle that he doesn't like lying to her. Janelle thinks it's for the best. Karl has a good mind to tell her anyway (well, it wouldn't be the first time he's thrown his medical ethics out the window, is it?). He wants them to make sure Bree understands this isn't her fault, then leaves.
Kim tells Janelle that if the tests show up anything weird then she'll be out on the street so fast her 'ears will whistle'.
KIM: I'll be there to make sure of it.
He walks away, leaving Janelle looking glum.
