Ramsay Street
Sweaty Ned (don't worry, he has been for a run) joins Paul to greet Izzy, and Elle as they arrive home from the hospital. Each has some small injury, Izzy on crutches, and Elle with a bandaged arm. Both are also rather chummy to each other, and shock horror, it is sincere. Elle doesn't even make stabbing motions when her dad pashes Izzy in front of her (it is more of a "EWWW! Dad, get a room already").
The General Store
Dressed in their respective work attire, Toadie is rather grumpy towards Stu. Of course, it is about the court case. Stu doesn't want to discuss the intimate details right here, right now, so instead they done a fish metaphor. Toadie wants Stu to get "the little fish" out of the "big net". More stuff about oceans, sunrays...basically, Toadie wants Stu to do as much as he can, because our Stingray (haha, "stingray" sea, get it?) is innocent!
Still on his jog, Ned happily greets the boys as he mentions the nice weather...that is perfect for a run. Yes. The guys are all, well it's nice for some! Ned actually has an ulterior secret motive, he wants to know where Toadie got his wrestling outfit from (from Lyn, he says). Before we can announce NuminousNed to the ring, he scoots on out of there leaving the boys in his dust to ponder this new mysterious element in the Ned Parker jigsaw.
Paul's
Tall...nice...polite...good-looking...good hair...yep, Ned MUST be gay. Nah uh, Elle isn't giving away Ned's secret. The two gossip further, and barely notice Paul leaving. Out goes Paul, in comes Max. He has his 'we need to talk' face on, and indeed he does. Basically he wants Izzy out of the Scarlet Bar so they can resume a regular business pattern. Izzy completely understands, she has been slack. She has let the team down, can he forgive her? Max is confused at this admission, and Izzy points out she was in a PLANE CRASH. Everyone bar her had someone, well she had a lifetime of lies to keep her company. She is determined to turn over a new leaf, and starting right now. She will leave her Lassiters job, and come back to the bar. She swears by the time his baby comes, she will be the best aunt, sister, friend, and manager ever! Max gives her a hug, but his face, and the rest of us are saying 'give it 2 weeks'.
Police Station
In a somewhat loosely, unofficial police interrogation, Stu is once more going over the facts of the case with the service attendant. Pointing to the video tape, he finds it VERY interesting the culprit only covered his face upon entering the store. Mr Service Attendant is whatever, dude, he did it! He had a gun pointed in my face. Unfortunately, Steiger enters and puts a stop to his little chat. He is not impressed to say the least.
Lyn's
Kim is meditating on the floor, and Stingray adjusts the volume just to see if he can annoy his father. It doesn't really work, he merely gets asked to please put it down. Kim likes being at one, 'cause he gets focus as if he were surfing. He invites Stinger to have a go - it might help in dealing with his feelings with Dylan. He declines. Kim tries another tactic, what about surfing? Nope...that was the OTHER son you taught there mister. (Dylan can surf? No wonder he survived the ocean...sorry, horrible joke) Kim explains it was only a diversion tactic to get Dylan out of the trailer, and he is sorry. But NOW, all he can do is teach Stinger to surf. So come on my fish-nicknamed son.
Police Station
Stu shows Steiger his theory - Dylan covered his face up after entering. It shows it may not have been premeditated - therefore, Scott's story fits. Steiger can't believe he had the nerve to interview a witness again. This case is open and shut, as far as he is concerned. The case is with the OPP now, there is nothing more they can do. Stu continues his little theory, and Steiger realises he has been playing nice with the defence. Yes...conflict of interest...YES! It is that. Steiger warns he should drop it RIGHT NOW.
Scarlet Bar
Lynnie stretches her back as Steph comes running in with Oscar. They had SUCH a fun time today, and she hopes it okay but she promised sandwiches at the play gym. They run on out of there again, and Max sighs, looking lovingly at Steph while she leaves. He grins that she is THE perfect age to be pregnant, SO FULL of energy. Lyn takes offence, and even standing up her back kinda cracks, ouch. Ned approaches her (Mrs Scully, I mean call her Lyn) as he requires some assistance in a delicate manner. He asks for her absolute discretion.
Paul enters, and marches straight over to Max for a quiet word.
PAUL: Max, I was wondering if we could have a word.
MAX: Yeah sure?
PAUL: It's about Izzy.
MAX: Oh mate, don't we have anything else to talk about? What about fast cars, or Warnie's shoulders, international politics?
(Paul gives him A Look)
MAX: Yeah no.
Lyn's
Kim shows Stinger how to surf...with a surfboard on a cushion. (flashback to Harold teaching Paul and Sky to drive with oranges) Simple, from here...to HERE! (crouching to standing). Stinger has a go, but doesn't quite master it. More like, here to way over there. They talk about Dylan - Kim remembers what a brooder he was but Stinger corrects him. He had changed so much, looking after his siblings, wanting to go into uni... Kim is proud his boys finally became mates, and fondly wishes he were around to see it. Anyway, enough of that, time to actually surf.
Scarlet Bar
Paul explains his plan to allow Izzy more time in her life, through the flexible plan for her Lassiters job. He asks Max's opinion, but Max is rather quiet. He should talk to Izzy. Paul deduces Izzy spoke to him. Oh, and that she isn't coming back to Lassiters, but back here! Right. He leaves rather stony faced.
Toadie is rather happy Stu believes Stinger's story now, but it doesn't really matter. Stu can't do anything more, it's up to Toadie.
Beach
Kim is sorry there weren't more waves, but it's all good. He suggests they just sit for awhile, take their time. Stinger is rather confused with this idea, but still sits. Kim sighs, he talks of how Janelle could never do this. Just sit and think about things. She was always about being busy - an avoidance thing he suspects. Stingray takes offence to this, listen mate, slagging off the other spouse ain't gonna hold. Kim is sorry, he didn't mean it! Nevermind, they should just go.
Lyn's
Ned thanks Mrs Scully, I mean Lyn, again for helping him out. Steph is heaps lucky to have a mother like her, and Oscar! He is even luckier to have a granny like her. +spatter+ Granny? No sir, I'm Oscar's mum. A huge DOH brick lands on Ned, and he tries to rectify the huge hole he has dug, but simply makes it bigger. Lyn shrugs it off...while placing the tape measure around Ned's neck. Haha.
Scarlet Bar
Kim orders drinks, and is surprised to hear Stinger is off the 'pink drinks'. Well, there are a lot of things that have changed...but Kim has noticed, and he is really proud of him. He tries to explain what he meant before, in regards to Janelle. Stinger knows, he knows they fought a lot. He knows it's complicated. Kim admits he still loves Janelle, has since he was 16! Even though other girls "tried it on", they never came close. He has never stopped loving her.
Paul's
The women oooh over their dinner, much better than hospital food. Elle leaves to chat up Ned, I mean see him, much to Izzy's encouragement. Quiet Paul finally asks Izzy about leaving Lassiters. She is sorry for not telling him first, but believes this is the best decision. No, Paul is happy she is making plans. Whatever makes her happy... he bestows his love, she knows that right? .......... Big silence, of course she does!
Scarlet Bar
Max, and Steph fuss over Oscar when Lyn comes over to grab him. Steph is fairly exhausted, she has no idea where Lyn gets the energy, but she is now determined to get fit! Lyn mentions her idea for getting Oscar to Toddler Swim Class, and they all agree it's a great idea. Steph LOVES it, and volunteers to do it. It's no worries, she can manage it. Lyn appreciates it, but yeah, she has to go. She stands, but once again her back gives a nice cracking motion. Once alone, Max questions Steph about Lyn. They're rather confused, but soon realise she may be feeling her age...compared to a certain mother-to-be.
Elle congratulates Ned, he is really brave for doing this. He admits to being nervy...so Elle offers to keep him company. (I bet she will) He is relieved, as he was dreading going alone.
Paul's
Paul can't let it go - he NEEDS to hear Izzy say 'I love you'. Izzy can't, well she could, and in the past she would have. But this is the first relationship built on truth, and honesty. It is special! In the future...? Perhaps it will change, but she won't promise anything. Hmm...Paul is silent. Will he accept it? Or not? Looks like a big NO, 'cause he furiously orders Izzy out of his home.
