Complex
As Karl locks up the office, Toadie asks if they should hold a wake for Connor and Karl replies to count him in before Paul catches up with him to have a word. Paul hands Karl notice that he has 30 days to vacate the premises as he has broken the terms of his lease due to Karl not opening for enough hours.
No. 26
Bree is pleading with Janelle for Kim to stay but her pleas fall on deaf ears so she starts to pack her things to go and live with her dad. Janelle reminds her that living with her dad won't be up to much but Bree doesn't care and starts to head out the door but Janelle comes to her senses and tells her that Kim can stay...but he's got to sleep in the van! Bree asks if he can at least join them for dinner and is told not to push her luck!
Scarlet Bar
Toadie is explaining to Karl that he has broken the terms of the contract by not opening for enough days, partially due to recent events, but promises to look into it for him.
Janelle arrives to tell Kim (who is sitting having a beer waiting for Joe to "return" from the gents) that he can stay...but he has to live in the van and is only doing so because of Bree. Kim tells Janelle that it is great to see her.
The General Store
Stinger is on the phone to someone in Colac trying to track down Roo when Stu comes in and hears part of the conversation. Once Stinger hangs up, he reminds him that going to Colac would be a breach of his bail conditions but Stinger couldn't care less - he just wants to get at the truth (well hold of Roo) to prove that he has been telling the truth all along. Stu isn't convinced, so Stinger asks him about the tip off - did he not think it strange that they knew exactly where the gun would be? Stu tries to offer plausible reasons but Stinger is having none of it and reiterates that Dylan is innocent and most importantly, he wants to clear his brother's name since he isn't here anymore.
STINGRAY: (intensely) You're not listening! Dylan is innocent. I swear.
STUART: It doesn't matter. He isn't here.
STINGRAY: (choked) Don't you think I know that? This is why this is so important. Dylan's not here. I've got to clear his name for him.
Ramsay Street
Janae sits on Dylan's car as she sees her dad approach in his yellow van. Kim is very friendly towards his daughter but she's having none of it and starts ranting on about why he is in Erinsborough since he blew her away the last time they talked. Janelle explains that Kim is upset about Dylan and adds that family is important, especially at times like this when they are in it together. Naturally Janae thinks otherwise and thinks the idea is a bad one (I'd put what she did say but the filter would change it ) and that he wasn't there when she needed him. Janelle asks her to go easy on him and that it might help having him around but Janae still isn't buying it.
Island
Connor is sound asleep and is having flashbacks to being in the water and shouting for Serena when a ware wolf howling suddenly wakens him - Dylan the ware wolf that is!
No. 26
Kim is explaining to his kids where he has been and doing but Janae and Stinger aren't complimentary towards him, saying that he wasn't there when his family needed him and Janae adds that he's only appeared "because some tart kicked him out." Kim replies that it wasn't fair and Janae has another rant at her dad since he didn't come when she needed him urgently. He is about to tell Janae the reason whey when Janelle tries to change the conversation but Kim tells her to sit down then tells Janae the reason why - Janelle called him and told him not to.
No. 26
Janelle is trying to defend phoning Kim and warning him off but Janae twigs that there must be more to it than that and he says there is. Kim starts by saying that Janelle threatened to tell Janae about something he did that he isn't proud of and tells Janelle that it is time the kids knew the truth. Bree pipes up that they already know about his parents blackmailing him with money to ditch Janelle and Kim replies that there is more to it. Janelle decides to tell the story - his parents made Kim another offer once they realised that he was serious about her.
JANELLE: This time he didn't have to get rid of me, he got to keep me. He was offered a cushy job - well paid, easy, the whole deal. They even offered us a big beautiful house that we could have lived in but your father and his bloody pride told them to stick it. Our one chance of living a decent life and he blew it. And then he left us to beg for scraps without him, so thanks Kim. Thanks a lot.
Island
Dylan comes back to a scared Connor and he explains about something waking him and that he's had enough - he's going to seek help tomorrow. Dylan says he is happy but Connor questions his mental state (the howling), so he explains that it was something he did with Sky as a way of letting off steam. He then explains it was also a way of letting go of his past and urges Connor to do something too, so he can also remove the guilt and grief and look forward to the future. Connor says he is fine but Dylan thinks otherwise.
Scarlet Bar
Toadie has found a loophole - although the surgery was closed the law firm was open and therefore Paul doesn't have a leg to stand on. Boom, boom! Karl is relieved but Toadie questions why he isn't jumping for joy at getting one over Paul, so he explains that he is feeling down in the dumps and is contemplating chucking it all in to join MSF on a full time basis. Toadie replies that the people of Erinsborough need him and besides, Susan needs him too. Karl is cheered up by that last bit and has a bit of a brainwave as to why Paul is really trying to get back at him!
KARL: If I'm right, he's going through hell.
TOADIE: (obviously telepathically knowing what Karl is thinking about) Ah, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy bloke.
No. 22
Stu is bringing Paul up to speed about the ongoing accident investigation but I wouldn't say Paul is all that interested in what Stu is saying about it. Just before he leaves, Stu asks if Paul still thinks it was an accident and Paul replies that what else could it be and tells him to dismiss what the papers are saying because it was a joy flight not a terrorist target.
STU: Terrorism comes in all shapes and sizes.
PAUL: Yes, but this is Ramsay Street. It's the most innocuous street in the most innocuous suburb on earth. Nobody here has done anything interesting enough for terrorism!
STU: No one? Are you sure?
PAUL: It was a bunch of friends and locals. Nobody would have that big a grudge against them.
Stu agrees with him but asks Paul if he's heard from Affirmacon, especially Tony Corbett recently but Paul dismisses Stu's idea as not being his style.
No. 26
"We could have been rich," spouts Janae as Janelle and Kim begin argue over what happened all those years ago and how Janelle perceives him as being a lazy bum even though he claims he has worked. Kim apologises to the kids (who've been watching them bicker) for letting them down. He thanks Janelle for dinner before leaving.
The General Store
As Kim quietly drinks his coffee, Bree comes up to him and gives him a piece of cake since he left before having dessert. She also hands him a book, which happens to be his favourite. He asks why she isn't as negative about him compared to the others and she replies that she's glad everything is out in the open and that there is enough grief in the world to hold grudges and take sides. Kim likes her mature way of thinking and he lets her share the cake since she turned down his suggestion of coffee. Bree tells him he leads a cool life and asks if he missed them. "Everyday," replies Kim before father and daughter hug each other.
No. 26
Stinger and Janae discuss the revelations that they discovered earlier and want Janelle to confirm if Kim cheated on her or not. Finally Janelle confesses she exaggerated the claims because she was fed up of being left in the lurch and she also confirms that she didn't know that Kim came from a wealthy family for a while either. She also explains that she hated them visiting their friends and seeing what they were missing out on because of his decision and breaks down crying.
Island (next day)
Connor makes a headband of twigs and flowers and after kissing it and saying "good Serena" throws it into the fire that is going. Dylan comes back and Connor shows off the rabbit he caught but draws the line at eating snakes! He promises that from now on he is going to pull his weight and work with Dylan as a team.
No. 22
Paul is getting annoyed on the phone to the telephone chipmunk for them not having an eviction order ready when he wanted it. Karl sneaks up on him (the front door was conveniently open) and presents Paul with his legal response to the notice Paul gave him the day before. Paul is naturally surprised to see and hear from Karl but points out that he isn't scared of 'little Toadie'! Karl replies that is looking forward to his day in court and wonders if Paul is jealous of him.
PAUL: Me, jealous of you? That's rich.
KARL: I used to think that you shacked up with Izzy just to cause trouble. It never actually occurred to me that you might love her.
Paul isn't happy at this comment and tells Karl that his relationship with Izzy is nothing to do with him, so Karl taunts him that Izzy still has feelings for him. He keeps it up and wonders how Paul is involved with Izzy in the first place, citing that he didn't know her when they got together but Paul did. Paul replies that it must be a match made in heaven but Karl says that Izzy is only interested in the money and the lifestyle. Paul decides he's heard enough from Karl and shows him the door and promising to see him in court too.
KARL: It's perfect really, I have her love - something you want more than anything else - and I don't want it. I didn't come here to gloat; I came her to wish you the best of luck cos God knows you are going to need it.
Karl departs and Paul gives him the dagger eyes look before slamming the door.
