Recap
- Karl saying Susan is worth 1000 Izzys
- Stingray could be charged as an accessory to the robbery
- Sky being called out as a survivor
- Dylan deciding he will disappear
Lyn's
Harold and Joe have come over, much to Lyn's relief. She is very worried about Janelle - she isn't eating or sleeping, but merely wandering around like a zombie. Harold remains optimistic as they found Sky, and Joe mentions how Sky didn't see Dylan after the crash. Janelle wanders into the living room, saying nothing.
Island
The two lost boys wander some more when Connor finally stops. He changed his mind, this is a stupid idea and what about his responsibilities! And what about Stingray? Dylan is sure him being dead means the case is closed. He sits down with Connor and assures that if they stick together, they can do this.
Police Station
Toadie has just asked Stingray to lie, no sorry, economise for the trial but he is having no part of it! He won't sell out his brother, I mean he is only in this predicament as Dylan tried to save him! Stu walks in to let them know they have half hour left before the trial. Stingray asks again if they've got Roo in but Stu says nothing. He gives Stu a bit more attitude because he leaves. Toadie wants him to tone it down but Stingray won't - they have already decided he is guilty.
Lyn's
Janelle is quietly sitting on the couch, staring at the phone. Lyn gently speaks to her, but Janelle won't listen. In the kitchen, Janae says she needs to snap out of it! She is acting like a psycho! Lyn simply asks Janae to make some tea, maybe she needs a drink. Janae huffs off, muttering how tea and biscuits can fix everything eh? Lyn gets back to the laundry but it is clear she isn't coping well. Joe notices and wants her to take a walk, think about herself, but Lyn can't. Dylan being at sea is one thing because he is a young man, but Susan? Or Lil, David and Serena?!
Toadie arrives and asks Janelle is she can come to support Stingray as his trial is in 20 minutes. Janelle refuses to leave the house until she gets some news. Lyn softly tries to persuade Janelle to go to the trial - she can help one son at the moment, and of course she will call the moment they hear any news. Janelle merely nods and stands up.
The General Store
Harold pops in, much to the surprise of Lou and Ned. Lou asks if he should be here, but Harold is perfectly fine. When his family is found, he will take some time off but in the meantime he is capable of running his own store! He is fine, his family is fine. Lou tries again, but Harold snaps at him - a lot of people have been saved, why not his family?
Island
Dylan and Connor continue to wander aimlessly along, but to their luck they find a suitcase! It is the Bishops, and they start to change their clothes.
Scarlet Bar
Lyn greets Karl and they remorsefully talk about Susan. He is still in shock, how sudden it was...he has been thinking about their time together and well...Lyn knows. But during that time, he NEVER stopped thinking about her, never stopped loving her. There are so many things he wants to say to her...he hasn't told the kids yet. Not telling them keeps her alive, somehow. Lyn tries to be optimistic by suggesting she IS alive but Karl is uncertain. A night in Bass Strait? What are the chances.
Lyn's
Janae sullenly watches the tv, while Joe tries to make small talk about the trial. He is sure it went fine and sympathises how she must be feeling well, rubbish. Janelle is doing her best to cope...it's traumatic to lose a son. Oh, but what about losing a brother?! She mutters she should get arrested.
Janelle and Toadie arrive back home with Stingray. He got bail, obviously, but it's not so great because it means he has to go to trial. He could be charged as an accessory and could go to prison. Janelle is mad no one would listen to him, and Stinger agrees - no one believes him, not even his lawyer! Toadie mentions the one way to get him off...but Stinger won't rat out on Dylan. It is not about Dylan now, they can deal with him when he gets back. If he gets back....and Janelle sits back down. Stinger understands, now they believe Dylan is dead, they can blame him. Well he won't do it, even if he is dead.
HoT
Toadie greets Stu with a bad mood - he won't talk to him, not if he won't do his job. Yes, he believes Stingray and how because the police are being lazy, his innocent cousin will go to jail! Stu quietly asks if Toadie will talk to him about Connor yet. No...no he won't because he is a liar and thief. Stu was right - Connor did rob Bounce, even faking the injury! He honestly doesn't care if he is dead, what happened was karma.
The General Store
Boyd notices Janae is by herself and sits down. She doesn't really care, but he still sits. He eyes off some food, she gonna eat that?
Scarlet Bar
Talking to Max, Steph, and Ned - Joe feels they need to do something...Max thinks they are, but maintaining normality.
Lyn asks Karl, why them? Why that plane?
Joe doesn't want to do anything drastic like join the search but they can help those who have missing ones. Like meals, laundry...that kind of thing.
Lyn wants Karl to come back to the house, not stay alone but he can't. He needs to ring his kids...how can you tell your children their mother is just, gone?
Lyn's
Stingray and Janelle sit quietly on the couch, though Stingray tries to console his mum. He points out Dylan could still be alive - he is a strong swimmer! Besides, he wouldn't have gone without a fight. He always wanted to punch a shark in the nose...even if he did go down, he bet he went down with a big smile on his face, laughing. Awww. Janelle simply asks Stinger to be quiet.
Lyn and Joe come home, though this doesn't seem to have any effect on Janelle. Joe lets her know the community is there for her if she needs any help. However, Janelle doesn't want it, she doesn't deserve it! Breaking down, she recalls all those years of telling Dylan to leave them alone. Even when the plane was going down, she disowned him! This is her fault, her wish came true. Stingray tries to say she didn't mean it...but that is the sad thing. She DID mean it. She is a rotten mother, always have and will be. This is her punishment.
Scarlet Bar
Karl leaves a message on Libby's answering machine - Steph pops round to see how he is, and he says he was able to get in touch with Mal and Billy, but not Libby. Janelle arrives and makes herself seated. He isn't sure he can be much help... She starts off by saying the not knowing is killing her. That, and the fact she gave up on him. She knows he was a good kid, and knows she is a lousy parent. Ha, she has a dead son to prove it! But, she just wishes she could have her time back so she could redo things. Karl knows exactly what she means.
HoT
Ned brought in the last carton of Connor's finest beer. He thought they could have a quiet drink and remember Connor. Toadie is not having a bar of this, but Stu says what is done, is done. He would rather remember Connor a good guy, not some mistakes he made. This still doesn't settle with Toadie, but Ned insists. The 3 of them were mates. He starts off, even though he didn't know the guy, he liked his humour and persistence. He lists off a bunch of practical jokes he pulled. The other guys laugh, that he knew about that? Of course, he isn't stupid. He has just had a lot of practice keeping his cool. Stu remembers Connor playing Father O'Neil for Aunty Raelene. Ned laughs that she is still praying for them. Stu also points out if it weren't for Connor, nor he and Toadie would be friends. He was always there, to help patch things up. Toadie nods and leads the toast to Connor.
Scarlet Bar
Karl fondly recalls Susan's incredible sense of humour, always knowing what to say. Janelle thinks they would have made a ripper couple. She glumly remembers not telling Dylan how much she loved him. He had such a special spirit...Karl sighs, if only they had the chance to tell the people they love what they thought. But then you just wait for another time...but now there is no time. Janelle excuses herself, apologising for taking up his time, but Karl doesn't mind. He invites her out to coffee and she is surprised. He just believes none of them want to be alone at the moment.
The General Store
Janae and Boyd are still sitting in silence. He can leave if he wants, if she is boring him by the sitting. He doesn't want to be anywhere else however. He even asks Harold if it's okay for them to hang around, and Harold agrees...Boyd thinks Harold doesn't want to go home either. Awww, sigh. Janae thinks it's weird, the two of them like this. She likes it and Boyd smiles.
BOYD: Good, it's what people do. When they love each other.
