Paul and Serena are back from the driving lesson in one piece! Serena in naturally hyper, even suggesting to Lil that they buy a car just like Paul's and thanks him for the lesson. Lil thinks he's using Serena to undermine her marriage, but he says they're just friends and nothing more and perhaps she's reading too much into it. She tells him to stop playing games and Paul says would she have the same reaction if it were Susan who gave the lesson? Lil tells him not to take her out again, which Paul agrees to but adds that he and Serena are getting on very well but he'll respect her wishes.

Sindi isn't hungry and announces that she's been sacked due to budget constraints and Stu suddenly comes over unwell as he's consoling her. Harold is studying the fixed environmental report when David comes in asking if he's looking for a miracle in the report. Harold can't understand it as they live on a hill and David points out that the only way to visit Ramsay Street in 10 years time will be by boat, which doesn't go down well with Harold. David tells him to look at the positives like a new house and tells Harold he thought that he'd be proud of him. Harold says it isn't about money, it's everything in Number 24 and the Street is people/things that he loves, and that is what he is fighting for. Quoting family references (Madge, Charlene, Henry, Kerry) says that the neighbourhood is story of a huge part of his life. David says that this can then be a new chapter in that story.
HAROLD: David the most important thing in the world to me is providing a home for the people that I love, so they can always feel safe always feel welcome. I thought you'd help me with that fight but oh no not you, no you're off chasing power or respect or something. Well I'll tell you something David, respect has to be earned and quite frankly you haven't earned my respect.

Lil then tells him that she's having trouble being just friends with him (like they said they would) as she can't stop thinking about him. Paul tells her that she can't be unfaithful to David as she'll never forgive herself and leaves her standing there.
