A female robotic voice tells Stu, “I love you.” Stu explains to Sindi that the scanner isn't to keep, the guys at work pulled a few strings to get Stu to be able to borrow it. Sindi says he should get one of his own, but Stu tells her that they are pricy and he's back on his pension so they really can't afford it right now. The phone rings. “House of Scanner,” he says in a robot voice, “Stuart speaking.” It's Carmella, getting worried about Connor. Stu says he hasn't seen him since this morning.

Stingray asks if they'll be there long, and Sindi says they'll be there all afternoon.
Still trying to find somewhere to be alone, Stingray suggests number 30, while Stu's at his place, because Toadie is in Sydney. Serena says that knowing their luck, Connor will walk in. Stingray suggests using Toadie's bedroom, which Serena doesn't like because Toadie eats his dinner in bed and Bob sleeps there. Stingray says he'll vacuum the sheets, but Serena shoots down that plan when she finds out that they only wash their sheets once a month. Harold comes over.
“What are you two doing?” he asks.
“Nothing,” they reply.
“Well you should be,” he tells them.
Then David comes in and tells them about his golf game. “I shot a few birdies.”
“Better watch out, Dave,” Stingray tells him, “the RSPCA will be on to you.”
David leaves them and talks to Harold. He tells him about his golf partner, a real estate developer who is going to demolish the old steel works building and he's gonna let David flick the switch and blow it up. She asks if Barry said anything. Frank says he better call the police, he doesn't want to take any risks. He says he'll talk to the police, and assures her that Connor will be okay.
Sindi calls Lapland Follies, her old exotic dancing place. She tells her former boss, Don, that she needs her old job back, and is pleased to learn she can start next week. She ends the call as Stu walks in. She lies and tells him that it's the magazine, giving her an extra article, so she'll have more money. Stu again tries to talk her out of buying the scanner, because it will take years, but she refuses to give up on it. He asks her what the article is about. Thinking quickly and looking around the room, she tells Stu that it's about pets, and how they drive you insane and love you at the same time.
Stingray and Serena have returned and are still trying to find somewhere for their alone time. Lil is still hanging around in the kitchen. Serena suggests Dylan's car, but Stingray says there's no chance of that.
Lil comes in and says that David rang and said he is having dinner with some council buddies, and asks about the two of them staying for dinner. Serena says they had a snack earlier, so their not hungrier. She asks her mother if she's planning on going out, perhaps to Susan's. Lil says she doesn't want to be over there all the time and wear out her welcome, and tells them that Harold's doing a split-shift, and she'll be home all evening. Serena then tells Lil that she and Stingray are going for a walk. Lil tells them not to be long.
Harold also is ready to leave. He brings up the subject of her and David. Lil tells him that if David thinks dinner with some council people is more important than his family, that's his decision. Harold tells her that the past year has been tough on all of them, but for David it has been demeaning, and he feels a failure. Lil tells him that if she's hard on David, it's because he deserves it. Harold tells her that David feels he has to prove something, and the more he feels it, the bigger risks he will take.
The police have finished their visit. Sindi and Stu are also over, and Frank is still there. Carmella tells them that the police have Barry at the station, but he claims he hasn't seen Connor at all. Sindi asks Stu what they can do now. Stu says that without any evidence, there isn't much the police can do. Frank says that as soon as Barry leaves the station he'll have a word. Stu tells him it's not very smart. Carmella is siding with Frank on this one, saying they need to find Connor. Stu says the police will find Connor.
“They're doing a good job now,” Frank says. “Are they all blind down at the station?”
Frank has obviously struck a nerve, and Stu starts yelling at him. Sindi goes into the kitchen to make coffee, and makes Frank go with her. After they leave, Carmella apologises for him, and suggests that surely if Frank can get information out of Barry, then they should let him. Stu tells her that if Frank gets information out of Barry illegally, then Barry will walk free and Frank will be locked up. Carmella says that she wants Connor, and if Frank can find him, she wants him to do it.

Stingray tells her that this will be the first time with someone he loves, so it will be his first time too.
David returns home and finds Lil watching TV. He comments on the dress Lil is wearing, thinking it's a new one. Lil tells him it isn't, she's just been saving it. David tells him it's nice and he always said she had good dress sense. Lil tells him she might wear it to the demolition tomorrow, if she's invited. David says that of course she is, he just didn't say anything because he didn't know if she had plans and didn't want to muck up her day. “What would be more important than being with my husband?” she says. David gives her a nice big cuddle and apologises for everything.
Stingray comes in and finds Sindi. He needs some advice from her. He is reluctant to say much until Sindi tells him he needs to help her out a little. “First times,” he tells her.
Sindi asks if it's a “first time” that's already happened, and Stingray tells her it's going to happen.
SINDI: Advice. well, atmosphere, very important. Romantic. Music. Music is good, music is great, soft music.
SINDI: What, like trumpets and cymbals and drums and stuff? No! Maybe later, but no! Celine Dion!
SINDI: …is a bad choice for you, but I don't know, just soft music. You want more. Alright, uh, candlelight, everyone looks fabulous in candlelight, and you can never see cellulite, not that you will ever need that. Oh, oh, yes, massage oil. Trust me, massage oil did it for me.
SINDI: Yeah, but let's not go there. Okay…
But at that point, Stu comes in and asks if he heard ‘massage oil'. Stingray covers Sindi's mouth and tells Stu they were talking about workouts. Sindi goes with the cover story. Stu tells them that he's off home. Sindi tells Stingray to forget what she said before, all a girl really needs is a guy who loves her. Stingray says he can do that. He goes off to his room, and Sindi asks Stu if he can stay a bit longer. Stu says he should get back to the House of Trouser, especially the way things are with Carmella. Sindi tells him that Carmella has a big strong Italian bodyguard, and she's here all alone and scared.
STU: Are you propositioning a police officer again?
SINDI: Why don't you stay and find out?
STU: Well, once again, I'm gonna have to stay and investigate the situation.
Frank is massaging Carmella's shoulders. She tells him he's so good for her when she's freaking out, he knows her better than anyone, except Connor. Frank says Connor has only known her a few months. Carmella says that he knows what she's going to say before she says it. Frank gives Carmella a surprise: Henry and Bobo, some stuffed toys he rescued from her old room. Her mum was going to chuck them. Carmella thanks him and offers to make them both something to eat. Frank says that he would never let anyone hurt her, and asks if a hug is too much to ask for an old friend. Carmella hugs him. “There's no need for anyone else,” Frank says, “while I'm here.”
Carmella tries to pull away after a bit, but he holds on tight.
