Sindi calls to Stuart, asking him if he's all right. He mumbles intelligibly and then replies, voice thick, that he thinks so. Sindi looks pained as the building continues to crumble.
Steph is in the hospital with Max, who's in a hospital bed. He consoles her as she's crying. Steph tells him that Lyn and the police think she killed Charlie. He re-assures her that he believes her and he's stunned that no-one else does. Steph makes excuses for Lyn, saying that she's in shock. Max tells Steph that Lyn loves Steph and that'll she come to her senses. Summer and Boyd rush in and Max tells them that he's going to be ok.
Stuart tries to calm Sindi as the building continues to move and then Toadie's face appears above them, pulling away at the rubble. Sindi excitedly calls Toadie's name and Steiger tells Stuart to hang in there.
David talks about fundraising - but when he suggests a bbq, Lil says that maybe just sandwiches - they should keep away from fires! Lil talks about feeling helpless and Serena suggests that she organise a charity fashion parade. Harold comes off the phone and announces that Sindi and Stuart have been found and that they're all right. David asks who they found in the fire and Harold says they don't know but they do think the fire had been deliberately started. Serena asks if they know who by and when Harold says he doesn't know, she stiffly walks away. Harold asks what's wrong and she asks if they've found Luka yet. When she finds out that he hasn't, she tells them that she thinks he may have started the fire.
The rescuers lift Sindi into the ambulance, closely followed by Stuart. Toadie tells them both they'll be ok but Stuart says that he's done something to his eyes; he can't see. Toadie tells him to rest and it'll be all right.
Lil can't get through to Luka's parents on the phone and asks Serena what makes her think that Luka would've started the fire. Serena says she's already told her what she knows, but Lil wants to know again. She asks when Serena last saw him with the matches and Serena replies that it was a few weeks ago, near David's car. Lil says that doesn't prove anything - Luka might just have been messing around. Serena tells her that he set fire to David's briefcase. David and Harold look shocked but Lil tells her that it's an awful thing to say. Serena tells them that's why he left - he didn't want to confess. Lil looks stunned but tells Serena that even so, it's a big step from a briefcase to setting alight a room full of people. Serena explains that there's more and tells them about Luka setting fire to his school when he got into trouble. David asks why she didn't tell them before and Serena tells them that Lil got sick and Luka swore it was an accident. Lil interrupts and says that she knows Luka and he wouldn't have done this. Serena asks how she knows and when Lil says that she's his mother, Serena points out that she's only just found that out and she barely knows him! Lil insists she does and tries calling his parents again.
In the hospital, Toadie teases Stu - whose eyes are now bandaged - about being akin to a superhero and Stu jokes that it's in his blood. Toadie tells him to save it for the media who are already around. Stu asks if there's any hot looking women. Toadie tells him, "Yeah, you should see them!" and Stu tells him that he wishes he could. Toadie tells him he will. Toadie thanks him for going back in to save Sindi and Stu brushes it off saying that anyone would've. Toadie refutes this and Stu says that she's too special to lose. Toadie agrees and Stu asks how she is - and Toadie tells him it's just cuts and bruises. Stu starts to tell Toadie something but Toadie interrupts saying that they've talked enough and Stu needs to rest before his operation. Toadie tells him that he'll see him, when "you see me."
David is in the ruined Coffee Shop with Harold. He says how sorry he is and Harold tells him that he's glad. David's confused but Harold explains that he means he's glad Madge isn't here to see it. He's then upset with himself because he's never wished before that Madge wasn't there. Harold looks anguished as he describes how much Madge loved the Coffee Shop and how hard she worked, despite her complaints. David comments that Lou told him about the Community Hall being used whilst everywhere is cleaned up. David says they should work on that and leave the Coffee Shop to the insurance people - and Harold should deal with it when he's ready.
Sindi's by Stuart's bedside. The specialist is happy with Stu's condition - it's just a case of waiting to see how the burns heal. Sindi says he'll be fine but can't help from crying - but Stu tells her they'll get through it. "Together." Sindi kisses his forehead and tells him that she loves him. "I love you too," he replies, as the camera scrolls up to the door and Toadie is watching through the window.
The Community Hall is being set up and David comments that it restores your faith in humanity - but Harold tells him he never lost that! David asks about the equipment in there - saying that they're expensive donations but Harold awkwardly tells him that the person responsible wants to remain anonymous. Steph, Max and Summer arrive with some chairs and they talk about Sindi and Stu being well. Harold asks how Max is and he proudly replies that it takes more than an exploding gas bottle to see him off! Harold and David sympathise over Charlie and Harold asks after Valda. David asks after Lyn and Steph tells him that she's devastated. Harold tells her not to worry - they've got a good close family so they'll pull through.
Sindi catches Toadie sitting down in the corridor. He gives her a bunch of flowers. "They're beautiful." "So are you," Toadie tells her. Sindi thanks him for what he did. He says it was nothing but Sindi insists it was - she tells him how the rescue workers revealed that he was the one who never gave up. Toadie says that whilst he was in a coma, she did the same for him. Sindi jokes that they've got to lead less dramatic lives! Toadie says they should never give up on each other.
David is on the phone searching for information on Luka. Lil comes behind him and accuses David of thinking he's guilty. David says it's a possiblity but Lil asks him if he really thinks that Luka's capable of putting that many lives at risk. David says that he hopes he wouldn't but Lil has to face up to the fact that he's got a history- Lil interrupts him, saying that he's wrong and says that whilst she can understand Serena saying these things because she hasn't accepted Luka as her brother but David... David tells her that's a horrible thing to say but Lil just insists they're wrong and walks off - past a cheerful Harold! Harold asks what's going on as he walks into the kitchen.
Max tells Steph that Lou had done all of the insurance work at home, so the papers are safe. Summer's leaving the house to pick flowers for Lyn but Steph stops her, saying that Lyn needs some time on her own. Summer asks if she can just go and say sorry and Steph tells her that normally she'd say yes but... Max jumps in and says that she's just having it hard with Charlie dying and the fire. Summer suggests that she might just want some company - when her mum died, she didn't want to be alone. Steph hugs her and tells her to make a card instead. Summer doesn't understand why she can't just walk across the road and asks what they're hiding. When Max insists they're not, Summer complains that they never tell her anything. Steph and Max decide to tell her some good news instead and Boyd walks in saying that everyone could do with some good news. They tell them they can't tell anyone - because at this stage anything could happen - but Steph's pregnant. They're all excited and plan to go to the hospital together.
An establishing shot of a cityscape flashes up, stating "Los Angeles, California." Jack is being led to a hotel room and is welcomed to the United States and told that his room will shortly be ready. A maid is in his room, who speaks to him in a foreign language - but when she turns, it's Nina. They embrace and Nina tells him that she flew in early as she's not needed on set for three days. He laughs and says she's not been moonlighting as a maid, then! They joke between themselves and she tells him that Jack won't be getting rid of her easily ever again. Jack tells her that he loves her and they kiss and drop onto the bed.
Harold and David embrace Sindi at the Community Centre. Harold tells her that she had them worried - and she tells him that she had herself worried! Sindi says she's never felt so popular and David tells her it's true - they'd been worried sick - but Toadie never gave up on her. Sindi says she doesn't want to think about how close they came. They ask about Stu but it's still a case of waiting for the burns to heal. Harold asks what she's doing as she should be resting but she said when she heard about what they were doing, she wanted to drop some things off to help. Harold thanks her for the donation of magazines, candles and pot pourri! David tells Toadie that he'll never doubt him again - and lets Sindi know that Toadie just 'knew' she was still alive. David doesn't know how he did it and says that it must be a love thing. "Yeah," Sindi slowly replies. David says that he's not dismissing Stuart as he went back into the fire for her - and wonders how you ever repay something like that. Sindi says she doesn't know and quickly changes the subject back to the Community Centre. She asks if they need help with serving but starts to cough and Toadie insists that she return home and that he'll look after her.
Summer says she won't get too excited and Max teases her, saying that in 9 months she could be a babysitter. Summer reckons having a baby sister would be good - but one brother is enough! Summer runs off to make Lyn a card and Max suggests that they could call the new baby - boy or girl - Charlie. Steph says she likes it and if she's a girl, she'd be a tomboy. Max says he wouldn't have it any other way. Max asks how much they're going to tell the kids about the investigation into Charlie's death. Steph doesn't want to say a word as it'll all blow over soon but Max says that Doreen told him that the cops think Steph should have a lawyer. Steph tells him it's a waste of money. Reluctantly, Max says if she's sure and mutters about her Uncle Michael. Steph agrees but says that if she'd travelled all the way from Beijing to reconcile with her father and missed him by 5 minutes, she'd be pretty messed up too. Steph insists that she did nothing wrong.
Sindi is looking at the remains of Lassiters. Toadie asks if she's ok and Sindi's thinking about how close they came. She thanks Toadie again but Toadie says they'd have found them anyway. "Maybe, but would they have found us in time?" They silently turn and Sindi says how weird it is - how many of their memories are tied up with the pub and the Coffee Shop. Toadie tells her that it's time for some new memories. Sindi asks him to sit on the bridge with her and she tells him she's got something to say. After she hesitates, Toadie chips in that she's in love with Stu. Sindi looks shocked. "You knew?" Toadie tells her that he's known for a long time but he's tried to deny it, pretend it's just his imagination. Sindi apologises - and Toadie tells her that she shouldn't be. "You deserve to be with someone who's going to treat you right." Sindi breaks into a smile and Toadie hugs her and kisses her forehead, telling her to go off and be happy.
Max is on the phone and angrily says that if it is arson, he wants first crack at whoever's responsible. Steph asks who was on the phone and he reveals it was the insurance company. The payment is going to be withheld whilst the police look into it to see if it was arson or not. "And the best bit? I'm now a suspect!" Steph's shocked and Max tells her that in these cases, the owners are the usual suspects. He adds that it's especially true if they've got financial trouble - like himself - or they've been in prison - like Lou! They hug and Steph says it looks like they're both under police investigation. Steph asks if it wasn't him or Lou - who was it? Max asks if she's got an idea and Steph suggests the body they've found. She says that no local people have gone missing, so could he be the arsonist? Max says he's sure the police will follow it up and then Steph stops him and says that it could be Gus. Steph reasons about Gus not being found and after Izzy rejected him, it could've been easy for him to go to the pub. "Means and motive," Max agrees. Steph tells him that she thinks he should suggest it to the police.
