- Stingray realizing Maddy is missing
Skate Park
Stingray is on the mobile to the police but he is becoming more and more frustrated with them when they won't listen to him. He hangs up on them and looks distraught.
Doctor's Surgery
Karl is fixing up Toadie's swollen eye - a wasp stung him on his eyelid. Toadie is worried that Lou will be annoyed because he'll have to wear an eye patch at his appeal, and he suggests that maybe it's an omen. He answers the SMS on his mobile after Karl gently chides him for having it on in the hospital, and finds out that Stingray has taken Maddy.
Bishops'
Lil has got Harold on hand to make some alterations to her shared dress. She says that the best couturiers are men.
LIL: Look at Calvin Klein, Gautier, that guy with the dark glasses...
HAROLD: Ali G.
LIL: Him.
He asks if she should be consulting with Sindi about the alterations but Lil says that Sindi didn't tell her what she was doing, and that she thought the dress would stay the same as it did when she first tried it on.
LIL: Besides, it's not my fault she doesn't have an hourglass figure.
(Harold glances at her behind)
HAROLD: Little more sand in the bottom these days though, ay?
(Lil glares at him)
HAROLD: Ahh, I'll do the alterations...
Susan's
Susan and Tom come home to find Toadie and Connor there. She asks what happened to Toadie's eye and he says he got stung so now he gets to "look like a pirate". They say that Sindi is still out looking, and Connor and Toadie have words. Toadie is trying to say that Stingray won't do any harm to Maddy and Connor is worried about Stingray's lack of responsibility. Tom tries to help but isn't really heard. Susan says she'll ring some of Stingray's friends to see if they've heard from him.
Karl and Izzy's
Karl is angry when he gets home and asks Izzy why she told Susan they were moving in. Izzy says that's not what she said but it would be the sensible thing to do since it'll only be her in the house soon anyway. Karl tells her he wants what's best for them as well, but not at the expense of bullying Susan. "Susan's all that matters I suppose," snits Izzy.
KARL: Any discussions about this house are between Susan and myself.
IZZY: I have a right to some sort of say, this is my future too.
KARL: Yeah that's fine, you have your say to me, then I talk to Susan. Okay, you got that?
Skate Park
Stingray runs up to Stu's police car when he drives up and starts babbling almost incoherently. Stu tunes in when the word 'Maddy' is mentioned and gets serious when Stingray says someone has taken her. Stu reports a missing child on his walkie-talkie.
Bishops'
Serena walks out to Lil and Harold and they all start talking at the same time. Lil is fussing over the alterations while Serena makes the statement that she really doesn't think she's in love with Stingray because she doesn't even know what love is. Lil dismisses her and Serena gets annoyed before she tries again. "Mum I've made a decision, I'm ending it with Stingray!" She complains that Lil hasn't listened to her but Lil says she did and thinks it's probably for the best. Serena stalks off in disgust and Lil goes back to her dress woes.
Susan's
Connor has just got off the phone and tells everyone that Stingray has lost Maddy. Tom looks a bit unsure and offers to make tea for him but Connor is too distressed to listen. Susan asks him what he wants to do and he says that he wants to go out and look for Maddy. The two of them head out leaving Tom to wait behind for any news. Toadie tries to apologise on Stingray's behalf but Connor's not listening.
Karl and Izzy's
Izzy comes right out and asks Karl if he still has feelings for Susan, "you're always so protective of her." Karl tries to explain that if you're married to someone for thirty years, you're bound to still have feelings for them. Izzy says that she just wants somewhere that's theirs, and Karl says that's why he doesn't want to move back to Ramsay Street, because of the memories there. He wants to start fresh with her and the baby. Izzy looks placated for now.
Number 30
Connor stares at the phone then finally picks it up and dials a number. "Lori, how's it going, it's me.... Look, I have to tell you something."
Bishops'
Harold has finished his handiwork on the dress and Lil shows it off to Serena. The two girls talk back and forth about how Sindi is going to react when she finds out and Serena eventually calls Lil a "total drama queen" saying that she was "gagging" for a row with Sindi. Lil is adamant that Serena is the drama queen and that she hadn't been the centre of attention for five minutes so she had to create a fuss. Harold breaks up their bickering.
HAROLD: You two would be the greatest, what did you call it? Drama queens I've ever seen. You could do a duet at the Erinsborough Players.
LIL: That's completely not true!
HAROLD: Well if Svetlanka was here you could make it a trio.
Serena says they're nothing like Bubba but Harold finds that hard to believe.
Number 30
Connor is trying to calm Lori down on the phone while Tom brings some cups of tea in for Susan and Toadie. When Connor gets off the phone, Tom suggests that they pray. Susan isn't too sure but Connor says he'd like to. They're in the middle of the prayer when Stu comes in the front door carrying Maddy. Connor is relieved and hugs and kisses her. Stingray hovers out the front door, not wanting to go in out of guilt.
Karl and Izzy's
Izzy hugs Karl around the waist while he's chopping veggies in the kitchen and says she's sorry. He says it's okay as long as she understands that's he's concerned about the future as well as her. Izzy jokes that he'll have to go easy on her because she's not used to being co-dependant. She freaked out because it's the first time she's had to think about providing for someone else. Karl says he only got angry before because he doesn't want to rush things and cause fights with Susan. He asks if she really thinks he'd leave her. "Not anymore," she smiles.
Number 30
Connor is on the phone again trying to make Lori less angry that Maddy was lost in the first place. Susan is holding Maddy and finds out from Stu that a couple had her and were trying to find out where she was from because they could only see kids at the skate park and no parents. Connor starts to yell at Stingray when he's off the phone and Stingray says he was only trying to help. Connor grabs him by the shirt and roughs him up when he finds out that Stingray lost her while he was skating. Everyone tries to break them apart and Susan stands up and yells.
SUSAN: That's enough! Keep it up and I will take Maddy and I won't bring her back until she's got a safe home to come to.
Bishops'
Lil and Serena are bonding over their respective drama queen tales while Harold hovers knowingly in the background. They go and sit on the couch and Lil says that David was right to ban Stingray from the house though. "Trust me, from one drama queen to another, there's just some things you got to accept." Lil jokes that genetic flaws are diluted between each generation so there's still some hope for Serena yet. Serena brings up the fact that she's kept in contact with Svetlanka ever since the argument and is surprised when Lil isn't angry. "Just because my relationship with her is bad doesn't mean yours should be."
Number 30
Stu wants to know what Toadie's going to do about Stingray. Toadie says he'll talk to him. Connor comes in from putting Maddy to sleep. Toadie says to Connor that there's no excuse for what Stingray did today but he reminds him that he's a kid with problems and sometimes he doesn't know what the right thing is to do.
CONNOR: I don't want him in this house again.
TOADIE: Aw, mate...
CONNOR: No, I don't care what his problems are, okay? I don't want him in this house and I don't want him near Maddy, and if I do see him near her I'm not going to be responsible for what happens to him, all right?
Susan's
Stingray is sitting sullenly at the table while Susan is urging him to eat something. He says he's not hungry and that he's going to bed.
Susan and Tom think about what a bad day it's been and Tom says it would have been a lot worse if she hadn't have been there to diffuse the situation. He admits that he doesn't know what to do when it comes to violent circumstances. Susan says he helped Connor when he needed it but Tom still feels lost within himself. "I haven't got a clue if I'm doing the right thing."
Karl and Izzy's
They are contemplating what to have for breakfast when Izzy feels a "fluttering" in her stomach. Karl is a bit surprised and remarks that the baby's getting a move on in there, but says it would be seeing as his child would be smart. He comments that she's due for an ultrasound soon and stoops down to talk to her stomach. Izzy looks worried.
Susan's
Stingray is packing his backpack full of fish fingers and tomato sauce. He thinks about taking his skateboard but decides to leave it there before heading out the front door.
Bishops'
Stingray surprises Serena at the window before walking in the back door and announcing that they're taking off somewhere. Serena isn't as willing to go along with this Bonnie and Clyde plan and wonders what trouble Stingray has got himself into this time. When her back is turned he swipes David's car keys off the table. She says she's sure whatever the problem is he's blown it out of proportion but he leaves.
Bishops' Driveway
Stingray jumps into David's car and locks the door so Serena can't open it. She yells at him to get out and that he can't do it. Stingray takes no notice and zooms down the driveway and out of Ramsay Street.
