Harold saying to Scott that he could help clear out the allotment.
Lil confessing to Lyn that she thinks David is up to something.
Stu sitting his police exam.
Lyn is flicking through bridal magazines with Oscar when she sees Jack head for the door. She's worried about the amount of nights he's been out but he says that he did twice as much partying when he was in London. Jack says he has to meet Stu at the pub, but Lyn says she'll drive him there, she wants to chat with Max about the wedding.
David suggests eating out that night. Lil want the girls to join them for a family dinner, but the girls wanted to stay in and have a movie night with Scott and Boyd. After much hesitation on Lil's behalf the girls finally get their way with a little encouragement from David (he's keen to spend time alone with Lil).
Harold and Lou are eating dinner together and gossiping about Susan having lunch with Tom. They don't realise that Lyn has walked behind them and heard them chat.
Lyn orders a drink from Max at the counter.
Jack and Connor are having a slightly strained conversation about how Lori and Maddy are doing. Jack asks if they need anything, and Connor jokes that they might need a few pots and pans. “Lori's doing her frozen peas in the kettle, and when they're ready they pop out the spout.”
Jack's trying to convince Stu to come to a club called Cube, but Stu's too anxious about getting his exam results. Connor says he should party anyway and Stu says he'll think about it, “if you two keep acting like friends for the rest of the night.”
Lyn's trying to talk to Max about themes for the wedding, but Max is trying to get out of it by saying that he has a lot of paperwork to do.
Stu says to Jack and Connor that if he had any way of knowing how he went on the exam he'd definitely go out… just as Allan Steiger walks into the pub. What a coincidence. Stu goes over to talk to him.
Lil's wondering why David switched his mobile off yesterday when she was trying to ring. He makes up some excuse about being in the post office and not wanting to be rude. Sky and Serena head out to get some movies. Lil dashes to the alcohol cupboard when they leave and starts to empty it out. “You thirsty, sweetheart?” quips David. He figures out what she's doing and says that if they hide the alcohol they'll think they don't trust them and there'll be more trouble. Lil agrees, and instead puts texta marks on the bottles where the alcohol level is up to.
Stu makes a wager with Steiger. If he beats him at pool, he gets to find out his exam results. Steiger agrees and they head to the pool table with Jack and Connor in tow.
Harold and Lou ask Max how the wedding plans are coming along and Max tells them he and Steph have decided to make it a simple affair. Lou wishes him good luck when he finds out that Lyn doesn't know that yet. Max looks a little freaked.
David and Lil get ready to leave. Sky and Serena are pleased to hear that there are no house rules because they trust the girls 100% (even if Lil looks wary about it). Scott and Boyd burst through the door with Scott taking it upon himself to kiss Lil hello on the cheek. David stops him before he can do the same to him. The parent's leave and the kids all rush at once to jump on the couch.
Steiger has kicked Stu's behind at pool once again. Jack and Connor joke to Steiger saying that Stu will cry if he doesn't know. Steiger says that Stu should hang on to these guys, “having mates to stick by you is a necessity in the force.” It takes a minute for Stu to click that it must mean that he's passed the exam. He and Connor celebrate by having some weird high-five slapping fight while Jack goes to make some calls to help the celebration.
David and Lil walk in, freezing when they see Steiger there. David says not to worry though and they go and order a drink from Max. Steiger sees them and uncomfortably walks over, asking for a word with David if he could.
Scott's bored and is telling the rest of the gang the delightful tale of the time he spewed all over Angie. He complains that they have the whole house to themselves and they should take advantage of that. Boyd asks what he has in mind.
Heavy rock music starts up as we cut to a bit later in the night. Scott is dancing around like a loony, inviting party guests in the front door as he dances. Serena is starting to freak out but Sky tells her to relax.
Lil is sitting with Harold and Lou, tensely watching David and Steiger talk at the bar.
Steiger offers to buy David a drink. He laughs and asks whether David thought he was going to thump him when he sees the look on his face. David calmly says he thought he'd be the one doing the thumping, but accepts that Steiger's apology is sincere. Steiger says when he first saw David he couldn't believe that he was married to “a gorgeous woman like that”. He excuses himself to go to the loo, leaving David silently seething.
Jack won't tell Stu and Connor what he has planned. Stu sees a female police officer walk into the pub and presumes that Jack booked a stripper dressed as an officer for him. Jack just kind of shrugs and smiles.
Lil seems slightly concerned that David isn't showing any jealously towards the whole Steiger situation.
The policewoman starts to ask Max for some help when Stu saunters up and says cheekily that he's the one she's looking for, casually putting his arm around her shoulder. She responds to this by grabbing his arm and slamming his face down on to the counter. Steiger walks back out in time to see this and informs Stu that the policewoman is Senior Sergeant Palmer, “my superior”. Stu groans in annoyance.
Scott and Boyd are wrestling on the floor. Serena takes this opportunity to hit them with her dustpan and broom she is carrying around.
Cue the cleaning montage of Serena following Scott around, tidying up after him while he makes a mess. She answers the phone, slightly panicked when she realises it's Lil on the other end. Serena blames the noise on the DVD's and finds out that David and Lil are on their way home.
Serena hangs up and screams for everyone to get out.
David and Lil head home with Harold.
Steiger says goodbye to Snr. Sgt. Palmer. Stu asks Jack what the actual surprise is. Jack says he scored VIP tickets to Cube, “drinks cards and all”. Connor is impressed, but Stu not so much. Connor says it's too bad that Toadie can't be with them, and then he gets a sudden stroke of brilliance.
Boyd hustles the partygoers out the back door while Sky turns the stereo off, Serena cleans and Scott… well Scott is helpfully juggling a vase. The adults walk in and the kids try to look as casual as they can. Lil checks the alcohol cupboard; happy enough that nothing was touched. Everyone but Lil sees a pair of shoes lying on the floor, shoes that don't belong to anyone in the house. David steers Lil to the bedroom before she can see them since she is so proud of the kids for being trustworthy.
Harold says the boys should head home, reminding Scott he'll see him at the allotment in the morning. Scott looks peachy keen.
Jack, Connor and Stu sneak around the corner of the hospital corridor, beers in hand. They're just about to go into Toadie's room when a nurse spots them. The boys feeble attempts at trying to persuade her they're from a catering company go amiss and they briskly walk out after she threatens to call security.
David is doing some stretches out the front when Lil springs him. He says he thought he'd walk to the office seeing as it was a nice day, then lies and says he needs to get some documents when Lil reminds him it's Saturday.
Lyn calls out hello to a worried looking Lil as she rushes over to number 32, spotting Max driving into the driveway.
Lyn cheerfully pesters Max as he gets out the car, telling him she spent half the night looking at bridal magazines. She's also thought of a wonderful idea, "Water features! Fountains, Max! They're so soothing don't you think, the sound of running water.” “Yeah, not to a nervous groom on his wedding day!” jokes Max. He finally tells her that he and Steph decided to go for simple rather than extravagant so that they could do it their way. Lyn apologises for butting in, but she looks hurt. He reassures her that she'll be a big part of the wedding but Lyn dashes off back home.
Scott and Harold make their way to the now overgrown allotment. Scott gets excited when he sees the old bike ramps, “Cool! BMX jumps! Alright, you stay here, I'll get Steve's bike and we'll make a human cannonball!” “No, no, no,” says Harold, “we're here to work. And it's Paul not Steve.” Harold hands him a pickaxe and invites him to rip up all the overgrown weeds. This gets Scott excited once again and he starts hacking away at the ground.
David is sitting at one table eating breakfast while Stu and Connor sit at another. Stu's complaining about being tired but Connor has no sympathy.
Sky, Boyd and Serena walk in. Sky's laughing at Serena's antics from last night. “It was like you'd been possessed by the lady off the Brand Power ads!”
Serena walks over to David. He gets flustered thinking that she's going to say something about him eating there, but she just wants to thank him for covering for them last night. “I just want to let you know that it won't happen again. You trusted me and I let you down.” David seems pleasantly surprised and says that's very mature of her.
Scotty gardens, and toils and works his little heart out while Harold drinks a cup of tea, takes a snooze in the deck chair and finds a suitable tree when nature calls. Then Scott becomes Speedy Gonzales, Don Burke style, as we see a fast forward clip show of the garden becoming progressively cleaner and tidier until it's finally back to its former glory.
Harold is very pleased but tells Scott they haven't even started yet, much to his disbelief. The next stage is planting the seeds. “But this place is huge, it'll take spiggin yonks.” “It'll take as long as it spiggin takes!” replies Harold. Scott wants to know what the point of it all is and Harold says it's the pleasure of planting something and watching it grow. Scott doesn't quite share his enthusiasm.
Lil is over for coffee, pouring her heart out to Lyn about David's recent odd behaviour. She's especially concerned that he wasn't the slightest bit jealous over the Steiger incident. Lyn asks if she's spoken to him about it but Lil says she tried but he disappeared off to work… on the weekend. “I don't like what my intuition is telling me about this,” Lil says almost tearfully. “I think something from doctor lying, cheating Karl has rubbed off on him. I think David's having an affair.”
