Libby entering Karl's apartment and discovering Izzy, then telling Susan.
Izzy learning that she's pregnant.
Sindi and Stuart finding Rocco in Toadie's hospital room.
Sindi tries to get Rocco to tell her what happened to Toadie. Rocco denies knowing anything, and claims someone else brought him in. When Sindi and Stuart call his bluff, he runs. Sindi calls the police while Stuart chases after Rocco. The chase ends outside the hospital when Rocco trips over and drops his car keys. Stuart catches up and picks up his keys. Rocco begs for Stuart to let him go. He tries to justify his actions, but Stuart will hear none of it. Police sirens are heard in the background as Stuart tells him he'll have plenty of time to think about his actions.
Max tries to find out what is wrong with Izzy. Not being entirely truthful, she tells him that Gus is making her nervous. They get onto the subject of Max and Steph's wedding, which makes Izzy depressed. She tells Max that she'll never fall in love and will die an old maid. She soon lightens up and tells Max she's happy for him. Max asks if she'd like to be a bride's maid, and tells her he'll talk to Steph. Suddenly, they hear strange noises coming from the front door. The scary, suspenseful music plays. Is it Gus? No it's Steph, who instantly leaps into Max's arms. She wonders why her key won't work. She also shows off her new, long hair.
Sindi is still with Toadie, begging him to wake up and telling him she loves him.
Max has just finished telling Steph about Gus. Max is still trying to find the good in the man. Steph tells him he should have told her, but, of course, they quickly and easily make up. Steph is ecstatic about her cancer tour. She thinks she found her calling - making differences in people's lives.
Susan and Scott enter. Izzy makes Boyd a milkshake. Susan talks to Scott about fighting at school, and to think before he reacts. Izzy comes over to take their order and Susan tells her off for interrupting their conversation. Izzy tells them they might want to eat somewhere else and goes back behind the counter. Scott tells Susan not to put up with that, and that's when the trouble starts:
SCOTT: Give her the old one, two.
BOYD: What, like you tried to give Meat Head today? This isn't a school yard, mate.
IZZY: It's alright, Boyd
SCOTT: (gets up and walks over to Boyd) You're worried about MY behaviour? What about your aunty getting it off with the doc? Talk about a home-wrecker!
IZZY: That home was a bombsite way before I arrived.
SUSAN: Didn't stop you wading in to pick through the wreckage.
IZZY: For your information, Karl and I only got together recently. As far as I'm concerned, he's a single man.
SUSAN: In other words, fair game.
IZZY: I've done nothing wrong to you! You've got no right to treat me like I'm some kind of piranha.
SUSAN: I think the word you're searching for is ‘pariah'. But you are right about one thing. I think we should eat somewhere else.
SCOTT: But things are just getting interesting.
SUSAN: Get going or I'll give you the old one, two.
After they leave, Boyd questions Izzy about her relationship with Karl. Izzy tells him not to tell Max.
Max comments to Steph about her dirty bike, which she's putting off cleaning until tomorrow. They look at Summer's wedding dress selections. Steph is hesitant about Izzy being a bride's maid, but agrees to ask her. Boyd walks in and he and Steph hug, happy to see each other. Max picks up the envelope with Steph's keys in it, and notices the adhesive has come undone. Boyd tells him it's because he used a cheap envelope.
Susan and Libby talk about Toadie's disappearance, and how Sindi and Stuart haven't yet called them. Scott comes in and Susan and Libby try to talk to him about the incident at the coffee Shop:
SUSAN: Your behaviour at the coffee shop was way out of line.
SUSAN: Well, you can't say those things, you can't tell Jezebel that I've been bagging her.
SCOTT: But you have.
SUSAN: (pleased tone in her voice now) It doesn't matter. The things we say in private aren't necessarily the things we say in public.
SCOTT: Why can't people just be honest?
LIBBY: Yeah, ma. Are you saying it's okay to be two-faced?
SCOTT: Yeah, ma.
SUSAN: (laughing) No I am not! I'm just saying that sometimes it's not appropriate to tell the truth.
SCOTT: So really what you're saying is, sometimes it's appropriate to lie.
SUSAN: Don't you have homework?
SCOTT: That depends if you want an honest answer or not.
SUSAN: Go to your room.
Susan and Libby laugh, Libby says she thinks she likes him and Susan says Libby can keep him. The phone rings. It's Sindi and Stuart telling them they found Toadie.
Steph has come over. They discuss Toadie's condition and Steph's wedding. Libby agrees to be a bride's maid. Steph tells her Summer is designing all the dresses and that Libby should be worried. Steph also tells her that Izzy is going to be one as well. Libby tells her it could be uncomfortable and confirms that she's sleeping with Karl.
Toadie's hospital room
Sindi and Stuart are still there. Susan and Scott enter. Sindi explains to Scott that he's in a coma and that he can't just wake up (Scott was under the impression doctors could give a comatose patient something to get them moving). Sindi and Stuart give Susan an update on his condition, but they still don't know much. “It's a case of wait and see”, Stuart tells her. Scott looks for reassurance that Toadie will be alright, and Susan tells him he will be. Stuart tells Susan that Rocco is in custody, hopefully for good. He isn't sure if he can resit his exam. Scott tells him to forget the exam, he should make top cop for finding Toadie and getting Rocco. Toadie will be rapt when he wakes up.
Max, Izzy and Boyd eat dinner. Max suggests Boyd could clean Steph's bike to thank her for his present that she got him while she was away. Boyd is rude to Izzy the whole meal. When Izzy gets up Max questions his behaviour, and Boyd tells him about Izzy and Karl.
Max yells at Izzy, saying that her relationship with Karl doesn't just affect her, it affects the whole family. Max accuses her of only going to Karl on the rebound from Gus. Izzy denies it. They stop arguing when Steph walks in. She tells Izzy that under the circumstances she feels she should withdraw her bride's maid offer.
Number 32 (morning)
Gus is cleaning Steph's bike. When he hears movement inside he hides, but in his haste he drops his mobile phone. Boyd walks outside to clean Steph's bike and is surprised to find it already clean. Max comes outside to help and comments on the good job Boyd did. Boyd tells him that he didn't do it, he thought Max did. They decide Steph must have done it, they doubt it was Izzy. They both go over to the near by workout bench to... well, work out.
Scott and Susan enter Toadie's room to find that Sindi has spent the whole night there, and had only been asleep the last hour. While Sindi and Susan talk, Scott talks excitedly to Toadie, hoping that he'll wake up. Stuart left to find out if he could take his exam. Susan offers to take Sindi home with her and Scott, but she wants to stay with Toadie. Susan insists she goes to a hotel and gets some sleep, but she doesn't want to leave Toadie's side. Susan and Scott say goodbye to Toadie. Scott tells him he wants him awake next time he seems him. The two of them leave.
While Boyd works out, Gus waits for him to leave so he can hide. Inside, Steph makes breakfast. They discuss how pleasant (sarcastic use of the word) things will be now that word has gotten out about Izzy and Karl. Steph tells Max she's going to clean her bike. Max comments that she couldn't get it any cleaner. Steph tells him she didn't clean it. Max suddenly realises – Gus. He calls Gus's mobile. Outside, just metres away, his phone rings. Boyd gets up and looks for the source of the noise. Gus sits, scared, but has no choice. Inside, Max and Steph hear the phone as well and investigate. Boyd picks up the phone and is puzzled and suspicious when he reads the caller ID on it.
