Self defence class – Steiger telling Lil she'll have him flat on his back
Susan telling Lyn she tried to pick up Tom.
Jack offering Lori he'll go back to New Zealand with them and be one happy family.
Susan bumping into Tom at school.
Scott is promoting Amnesty International in his own unique way ie. shouting out at people. He's confused though as he's yelling them that you can write letters to get people chucked into jail. Susan quickly clarifies this asking Scott to think about what they have been imprisoned for. Scott unable to think spits out his gum across the room and for a moment Susan looks absolutely mortified. Tom mentions that Susan has incredibly patience, as he would have just clapped him over the ears as Scott enthusiastically carries on correctly.
Jack has just told Lyn about his offer to move back to New Zealand with Lori – even though he hasn't heard from her in a week. She's quite surprised at that, as from the sound of what Lori told her, it seems like the last place she'd want to do. Lyn's also annoyed at the fact that 1) he did not tell her and 2) he would be running out on Joe's business. She wants him to think long and hard about this, as she thinks that he's just doing it out of guilt from the way he saying he wants to make amends.
Connor (who is holding a particularly cute Maddy dressed in pink) is wondering what Lori is going to tell Jack when she sees him for lunch today – is she going to tell him that leaving is a bad idea? Connor's annoyed that she might even consider it as he won't even get to be an integral part of Maddy's life and vice versa and wondering of all people, Jack to play 'daddies'.
LORI: You know what, you're right. I'll spend my entire life alone, would that make you happy?
CONNOR: Oh you're mummy's just being silly isn't she?
She tells him as a ‘caring and devoted father' he can look after Maddy while she's out. Although she's annoyed at Connor, when she looks back and sees how smitten Connor is with Maddy (he kisses her on the head) she gives a small smile.
Tom nicks one of the green apples that Scott was juggling and brings it over to Susan, asking if it's familiar.
TOM: Remind you of anything?
TOM: Is that a smile?
SUSAN: Alright look I would like to talk to you...
TOM: You're embarrassed?
TOM: Well don't be! Your supermarket story got's nothing on me spilling oil on the Arch Bishops' shoes.
SUSAN: Oh really, was he wearing them at the time?
TOM: Yeah…(laughing) till he went skidding down the steps at Saint Pat's. Nothing broken, thank god.
The moment is broken by Scott who has climbed up onto a desk and is showing how prisoners escape, unfortunately it's followed by a loud cry from Scott who's fallen.
David is searching for some gardening gloves in the shopping bags – he's worried that if he doesn't keep up then tidy street campaign then it'll fall apart.
SERENA: I don't know why you keep wanting the old Harold back when you've already turned into him.
David then stops and pulls out a flimsy looking purple top and says it's someone's lucky day – showing it to Serena. Coming in, Lil tells them it's hers. Serena tells her she's too old to wear it, and David gestures with his hands that it's a bit…er revealing. Lil takes it away and says she's going to get changed for the self defence class. David notes that Lil never tells him about the classes – is she embarrassed? Lil scoffs, as she thinks he's making a big deal out of nothing.
DAVID: I wasn't making a big thing. And anyway, speaking of big things, I happened to notice what big arms that instructor had.
Giving him a look, she walks off with Serena asking if she can have…no really can she?
Susan, presumably has just finished telling Tom about her marriage break up and how she's tried to get back on the scene. Tom agrees, you might not know if the next guy may be an axe murder. ‘Or a priest' Susan mentions with a smile.
They are interrupted by the women's self defence class led by Lyn and Lil. Susan motions that Lil was the one who told her to chat him up! Lil, stunned points that he's a priest as he introduces himself. She's even more surprised when she realises that he's Lyn's brother in law. He leaves, telling Susan that they should talk again as he enjoyed himself. Lil asks Susan if she's been reading The Thorn Birds lately, not a funny joke it seems.
LIL: Well, dog collar or not I reckon he's as cute as a button and you should go for it girl.
Walking in, Steiger motions for the class to get started – Lil peels off her grey jumper to reveal the small purple midriff baring top, showing off a lot of cleavage, giving not only Lyn but Steiger a double take.
Walking Jack and Lori discuss any future the two might have. Jack has all these plans for them, stopping Jack, Lori asks why he's doing it, why does he want to come back? She's always loved him, she never stopped but asks if it's out of guilt? Slowly, Jack nods, however he remembers how it used to be when they were together, she was his whole world and he thinks, no he knows that it can be like that again…'but not now' finishes Lori.
Connor using numerous techniques (the ‘here comes the: choo choo train, aeroplane') is trying to get Maddy to finish off her bottle. Walking in, Stu advises that he probably shouldn't try to force feed her – he knows due to his experience with Ben.
CONNOR: Stu, you're interrupting a very magical father daughter moment. Could you please go and wash your socks or something?
Connor tries again, this time with a ‘turbo charged Ferarri' looking at her and wondering why she won't finish her bottle.
Lil, trying to do some exercises with Lyn, has a hard time because of her shifting top. She tries to wear her jumper again but Steiger asks for her to demonstrate a move on him. She does it successfully, but unfortunately (maybe not for Steiger) her er, clothing shifts and she quickly covers up leaving a Steiger with a happy face.
Serena has brought over a boxful of fruit – bananas, blueberries, strawberries.. to make Scott a delicious, healthy fruit smoothies.
SERENA: Don't just stand there scratching yourself, get me the blender and…just do up your fly.
Scott's worried about Lil and David but Serena tells him that they're too busy to notice. He notices that the bruise is gone and caresses her cheek. They're about to kiss, but Serena quickly hands him an orange for him to start peeling.
Connor proudly holds up the empty bottle to Stu, saying he feels more and more like a father ever day. He thinks that he would die for Maddy. He's her daddy, not Jack. Stu diplomatically tells him that he may be a dud with the ladies but he's good with kids. Connor disagrees and starts to bounce Maddy up down and around.
CONNOR: You've only got one daddy don't you?
CONNOR: Not Stuart.
CONNOR: Not Jack Scully.
CONNOR: Only me!
Not a good idea it seems as we cut away and the next shot being Connor's cheek and shirt covered in white baby spew.
The healthy fruit smoothie they have concocted has blown up everywhere, splattering the kitchen and Serena and Scott in dark red goop. Licking Serena, Scott tells her that it does taste good! Hearing David at the door, Scott quickly tells Serena to duck down as David comes into the house. He thought he heard Susan laughing but Scott covers it up by saying that he sometimes laughs like a girl – doing so to prove it. He's soon discovers Serena behind the kitchen bench and pulls her out, yelling to Scott that he's out of control. Fortunately Susan then comes in and tells her that it's not Scott's fault – he lives her after all.
There's a pan of the Church's interior walls, as we see that Tom is finishing up doing a mass service. Lyn and Jack are there are doing the ‘in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit'. Jack obviously never done it and tries to copy Lyn.
Standing at the doorway, Tom thanks the people for coming. Lyn and Jack come out and give him praises on the service. Jack blabbers a bit and tells him that it made him ‘think…and stuff'. Tom grins saying that he's good to humour his mother – they disagree but he agrees and tells him that the message is just not getting across any more. He has never been a fan of the Forbidden Fruit, fear and guilt…he tells them to look into their heart and trust what is there, that is what's real.
Finishing off Serena's smoothies, Susan and Scott comment how delicious they are – even better than Harold's! Scott tells her that he's just her around Serena, he just laughs a whole lot, that she doesn't think he's mental.
SCOTT: She's just like you. You know, but younger and hotter.
He's down that her parent's are so against him but Susan reckons he just has to respect their wishes for the time being. He'd better have a shower too, as he's starting to smell.
Steiger is sitting alone at a table, turning around when he hears Lil ordering at the bar. He asks her if she wants a drink, but she mentions she's getting sometime for David, her husband. She apologies for the outfit in class, as she must have just picked up her daughter's top by mistake. He says not to worry and wants to talk - he reckons she'd make a great instructor as he leads Lil out the door.
Getting out some biscuits from inside the microwave (if she doesn't hide them, then they'd just get eaten) she is still praising Tom on his sermon. She says how much she just loves having that quiet time, every week to be in God's house…but Tom tells her that being a good person has more to do with being a good Christian, than always being that obedient. She says that is what Joe always said, how obedient Joe is with Church…when he can that is and that they should go visit him up next week, though he's not sure they'd want to see him so soon. She keeps pushing but finally, calling her ‘Lynette' he explains that he and Joe just weren't brothers when they were young, they were best mates. And when he joined priesthood, he just couldn't accept that…and she knows it.
Lil is telling Steiger that her family thinks she's crazy for loving sumo, though she and Sky can just sit there for hours laughing at it. He tells her she's beautiful and taking her hands, talks about the chemistry that the two have shared ever since he walked into the class. He knows it and he wants to take here down to the beach so they can explore this chemistry a little more. He asks her to go whenever she can swing it, as the camera pans to reveal Serena seeing Lil and Steiger together.
