Scullys
Tom's over for a visit. He got transferred from his country parish because he was a bit too controversial for their liking. He also says he called in to see Mick and his dad in Bendigo, but Joe didn't mention it to Lyn. Tom teases Jack about going to church but lets him in on the joke before he gets too uncomfortable. Lyn tries to say that Jack does go to Church, but Tom guesses correctly that "he's nuts about girls, they're nuts about him, and the last time he saw the inside of a Church was when I was poured water over his head at a Christening." Lyn invites him to the party they're having at the house for the Making Mansions television debut.
Number 32
Summer comes in and panics when she sees Max sprawled on the floor. He groggily tells her to ring Karl for him. While Summer runs to the phone he tries in vain to move, but can't.
Pub
Lou comes back from the fete and has a chat with Karl who's in eating his lunch. Izzy comes in to get some tax stuff for Max. Her and Karl have some bizarre bidding war over one of Lou's fete items (a bobble-headed dog) seeing who can be the most "charitable" to Lou. Before they can go too far, Karl gets a call on his mobile. Summer frantically tells him to come over. Karl says to Izzy that something is wrong with Max and they rush out.
Ramsay Street
Tom is showing Jack how to tie up the Ute properly while Lyn stares at Karl and Izzy driving into the driveway of number 32 together. Tom leaves to go unpack the rest of his stuff at his new house.
Number 32
Karl and Izzy rush in to where Max is. Max says that he keeps blacking out and that he hasn't had anything other than the anti-inflammatories. Karl says that he'll ring the hospital, and gets Summer to go and pack an overnight bag for Max just in case he needs to stay in for observation. Max blearily asks Karl what's wrong with him and tells him not to ring Steph until he knows what's going on.
Scullys
Sindi's over making last minute plans with Lyn and Jack for the Making Mansions premiere. They both get phone calls at the same time. Lyn's on the phone with Joe and happily says, "You'll never guess who's coming!... No, not Bert. Your brother Tom." By the reaction of Lyn, Joe's not as pleased about this as her but he's still coming down. Sindi's on the phone with Channel 44 trying to get somewhere with the program manager, but not having much luck. "Ugh, cake takers!"
Coffee Shop
Izzy and Summer make a pit stop before they have to go back to the hospital and pick Max up. Izzy suggests they share a chocolate sundae to wile away their worries. Summer goes to get a drink and sees the 'Found' poster of Shadow on the fridge. Izzy is concerned to learn that Gus kept the puppy behind everyone's back, then realises by the contact number that the puppy is at Harry's house. Summer wants to go and get Shadow right away but Izzy says they'll just have to wait and figure something out.
Number 32
Max is home from the hospital looking a lot more coherent and mobile, but still in a considerable amount of pain. The hospital doesn't know what's wrong with him but did a lot of tests. Summer tells him how worried she was and Max says that she did a wonderful job when she found him. She starts to say something about the puppy but Izzy interrupts and sends Max to bed before he finds out. While he's hobbling away she whispers to Summer that they'll have to sort out their "furry friend" soon.
Bishops
Izzy and Summer are over visiting Harold to see what they can come up with in regards to the pup (who incidentally resembles a beanie baby toy in this scene and not a real dog...). Since Harold is sneezing his heart out and Max wouldn't cope with a puppy just yet, Izzy ponders who would be able to take care of it and needs the company. Harold comes up with a brilliant idea.
Pub Office
Cut to Lou cuddling Shadow. He's made it a nice bed in the office and says in a schmoopy voice that it can guard the safe for him.
In the pub, Rocco and his cronies are making plans about Toadie. He says something about keeping something under wraps for the time being until they can come up with a long-term plan, and he wants to keep the "work experience copper off this case."
Sindi comes in to talk business with Rocco, but he tries to give her a bunch of flowers. She doesn't take them and asks him what's happening down at the station. Rocco says he'll have a word to the production team for her. Sindi's grateful and ends up taking the flowers as a "favour" to him.
The next day, Lyn and Oscar are visiting Lou in the pub office. Lou tells Lyn that he secretly hopes no one comes forward to claim Shadow because he's become attached to it already (Oscar is fixated on the puppy). Lyn makes sure Lou is coming to their 'do that night and then tries to buy some item of crappola off Lou, disguising her act of charity quite poorly. Lou says kindly that he doesn't want to be a charity case to anyone and that Lynny can have it for free. She's now stuck with a lovely ship in a bottle.
Coffee Shop
Izzy gives Karl a free lunch for helping out with Max yesterday. She gets a bit snappy though when Karl comments that she looks drawn. He follows her into the kitchen and says that they'll have the results as soon as possible after she says she was up all night worried about Max. Izzy offers a sincere apology for making trouble with Karl and Libby the other day. Karl tries to say he asked for it but Izzy won't hear of it. They share a 'look' and Izzy rushes out to serve a customer.
Scullys
Chaos reigns at the Scully shack as Lou and Harold come by for the grand presentation of Making Mansions. Sindi's worried because the press haven't turned up yet. Harold tells Lyn that David and Lil will be by soon and goes to put the champagne in the laundry sink after proudly declaring he's a teetotaler once again. Lou sees the picture of Valda on the wall and says it's a pity she couldn't be there. Tom announces that the TV's got a fuzzy picture and Lou rushes back to his place to get an antenna. Lyn asks Tom if he's going to be all right with Joe there, and Tom says they're both adults and can put aside their differences for one night.
Phew.
Later that night, Lou's dancing around with the antenna trying to get a good picture while Harold, Jack, Sindi and Tom look on. Lyn's on the phone with Joe who - surprise, surprise - isn't coming. Lou finally gets reception while standing in an awkward position. They all watch excitedly... just in time for the National Portuguese Rock eisteddfod. Everyone is confused except for an excited Harold, "I think these are the semi-finals!" and Jack, "These Portuguese girls are pretty hot!" Sindi starts to freak out.
Number 32
Summer is equally confused at what's on Channel 44. Her and Izzy are snuggled on one couch while Max sleeps on the other. Summer says that Max is going to be okay and Izzy says she's lucky to have a family like them. Summer feels she'd be luckier with Shadow as a part of that deal which makes Izzy laugh. "I wish you weren't moving out with Gus," Summer sincerely says to Izzy.
Scullys
Sindi is not having much luck on the phone with Channel 44, yet again. Harold is still watching the eisteddfod with glee and Lou is now wearing the antenna as a hat. Jack assures Lyn it's probably a scheduling stuff up. Rocco comes by to see Sindi. They have words in the kitchen. Rocco tells her that the network weren't pleased with the final outcomes, she promised them dysfunctional bogans but the end product wasn't like that at all. She was too nice with the Scullys. Jack has overheard all of this.
The 'Triple S' abode (Susan, Sindi, Scott)
Sindi is at home, wallowing in self-pity when Lyn comes by. She's there to 'bring a plate back' to Susan. Sindi apologises to her for the night being a bust, but Lyn says she should be the one to apologise for her family "not being the 'dysfunctional bogans' you were counting on." Sindi is mortified when Lyn tells her that Jack heard her and Rocco talking. Sindi tries to tell her that she couldn't go through with the premise in the end because she had got so close to them, but Lyn is angry and upset and doesn't want to hear it. "I don't think I want a television career for my family thanks very much. We'd rather keep our dignity." Sindi looks like she's going to cry as Lyn storms out.
Number 32
Izzy answers a knock at the door while Max is just starting to wake up on the couch. It's Karl with Max's test results. "It seems that you have ingested a massive dose of sedative." Max says that's crazy, and says he hasn't taken anything else besides the anti-inflammatories. Karl gives him a concerned look, "Well from what you've told me Max, it's not the first time it's happened."
