Trixie tells Lou he was so unwell she didn't want to worry him and she didn't know how to tell him. Lou says he's her husband and she needs to honest with him. Trixie starts to make excuses about their being no publicity and they should have had a younger actress in the role. Lou says they need to stop with the excuses and to work out their next move.
Jack and Lyn are both looking a bit down. Valda asks them what the matter is with them. Lyn doesn't say anything but looks at Jack. Valda asks Jack if that is the application for drafting course and asks him when it is due in. Jack says tomorrow but it's ok as he has it all under control. Lyn asks Jack if she can give him a hand. Jack says it's because she thinks he'll stuff it up like the drill and he doesn't want her coming to the building site and embarrassing him in front of his mates. Lyn says that Joe asked her to keep an eye on things. Jack says the paperwork not the site. Lyn makes Jack a deal, if he makes them really proud on the site she'll stop bring Jack's lunch down to him on the site. Jack says he'll hold her to that.
Stu runs in to get a drink, he tells Harold his official training with the academy starts tomorrow. Toadie walks in holding some photos. He tells Harold and Stu they are pictures from the wedding that Angie took but he hasn't had them developed until now. Harold asks if he can see them. He looks at a pic of Toadie and asks who the handsome man is. Harold then looks at a pic of Dee commenting on how good she looks. Toadie looks at it looking sad.
The next morning. Valda asks Jack if he got any sleep last nigh. Jack says he got a few hours after finishing the application. Lyn congratulates Jack on a good job. The phone rings and Jack answers. It's Joe and Jack asks him how Mick and Pat are and tells Joe about the application for the drafting course. He then hangs up. He tells Lyn that Pat and Mick are having tests but it sounds like broken bones. He says Joe also told him to take the day off today. Lyn agrees but Jack says he can't he doesn't want any special treatment. Lyn says Joe would do that for any of the boys and Jack shouldn't be around a building site and power tools when he's tired. Jack finally agrees and Lyn says she'll drop off his application for him.

Lou gets off the phone with his accountant telling Trixie he's agreed to wave his fee for the time being. Trixie says it's good news but Lou tells her they still have repayments of $5000 a month. Trixie says there is still the pub but Lou says he won't be selling the pub. Trixie says maybe something will come up for her and she's going to go to the Theatre to clean out her dressing room

David and Lil look embarrassed and then Susan and Sindi walk in. Sindi goes with Toadie into his office and Susan goes with Karl into his office. Karl thanks Susan for coming in and asks her if she wants to sit down. Susan ignores him saying there were papers he wanted her to sign for the bank, as she knows he's keen to sever ties as quickly as possible.
The Police instructor is giving the instructions and telling them the course is going to be very tough. They will have regular psychological tests and mock exercises like the one they are about to do. The instructor tells them to go get ready but he calls Stuart aside. He asks Stu if he's got what it takes to complete the course because after reading Stu's initial Psych report he's not confident he will. Stu says he's got what it takes.
Toadie is telling Sindi he wishes she wouldn't talk to other people about their so called relationship and whatever she's invented in her head about them is not something to be discussed with Lyn or Valda. Sindi tells Toadie to get over himself. She says she has not been discussing it. She was talking to Valda who probably told Lyn and she was telling Valda about the feelings she use to have for him. Sindi says she's moved on and she suggests he do the same. She walks out and Karl and Susan walk out of Karl's office as David and Lil are mucking around. Karl tells them that this is a workplace not a school yard and tells them to leave the fooling around for home
The Instructor is barking orders for them during a mock rescue. He tells the students to help each other out. Stuart's team gets to their person and rescues her. The other teams boat tips over and the instructor yells out “Is anybody going to help over there?”
Stuart dives back into the pool.
INSTRUCTOR: Parker, what do you think you're doing?
STUART: Just helping out.
INSTRUCTOR: Is that your team… well is it?
INSTRUCTOR: Well get back to your own team where you belong…move it. Ladies and Gentlemen what we have just witnessed is a classic example of abandoning your teammates. One word from me and Parker here left his fellow officers in danger. In the real world, in a real crisis there could have been a fatality. He should have stood his ground. There's no room for show ponies here.
Lil and Susan are talking about a book for their book club. Karl walks in and sits at another table. Lil ask Susan if she's ok. David walks in says Hi to Lil and Susan then sees Karl and goes to sit with him. Susan looks Sad and Lil asks her again if she's ok and she doesn't want to see her get lonely. Susan says she won't with her wonderful friends. Harold asks the boys if they want to order, he looks over a Susan and Lil and says “Us blokes have got to stick together”.

Lou is packing their hotel room and he finds a photo of himself and Trixie before they left Erinsborough. Trixie walks in telling him she's had an offer asking her to headline a new nightclub that's opening in Hong Kong. Lou is excited asking her how much it pays. Trixie says nothing at first but it will eventually. Lou tells her to stop and says they can't keep loving on dreams that don't happen. They've tried that and it's almost ruined them.
Jack is on the site cleaning out the cement mixer. Lyn and Gino pull up and Jack looks around to see if the other blokes have noticed. Lyn says she went home to bring Jack lunch but he wasn't there like he said he was going to be. Gino says he's come along because he needs some advice about the renovations he's doing. Gino runs over to the other workers talking about Roman Bathrooms, Jack looks horrified. Lyn tells Jack they are really proud of him and she knows what really happened with the drill. Jim told Joe. Jack asks Lyn if she put his application for the drafting course in. Lyn says one of the teachers is a friend of Joe's and she's going to make sure he checks over the application to make sure jack's filled it in right. Jacks not sure it's a good idea.
The instructor is telling the group he is not impressed but they're all scraped through except for Stu who failed the team test. He dismisses the rest of the group but tells Stuart that it's like it says in his file “you're so keen to suck up to authority figures, you abandon your colleagues just like that. You've resigned from the army, from jobs at the hospital and a garage and don't even get me started on this life mechanics rubbish. In fact if I had have jumped to conclusions I'd say you were a born loser. You'd better lift your game otherwise you'll have something else to add to your long list of failures.”
David and Lil are whispering across the office. David says he couldn't just leave Karl sitting there on his own. Karl comes out and asks Lil for prescription pads, she hands them to him with saying a word. Harold comes storming into the office announcing he is next as he has an appointment. Lil hands Karl Harold's file still without saying a word. David asks Lil why she is acting like that to Karl and she should be more professional as this is her workplace. Lil says she can't help it after the way he's treated Susan. Toadie some out of his office and asks David if he needs more work, as he seems to have time to gossip. When Toadie leaves Lil whispers “He's your boss, be professional”
It's raining. Sindi sets up her camera and stands under an umbrella. She on the phone complaining about the difficulty of doing it all by herself as Joe was the only one with any building experience. Toadie drives up and watches as Sindi starts her piece to camera.
“3-2-1 … So another day of makeover madness sees the Scully house look more like a bomb site than a family home. Joe has had to leave town unexpectedly but with bucket loads of elbow grease the next few days are promising to be promising”… “The nest few days are promising to be full of critical. CUT”
Toadie's laughing at her.
SINDI: What did I laugh at you when you were in the middle of a client presentation?
TOADIE: Yes the Robson case. If I remember correctly you found it so amusing you had to leave the room
SINDI: Well, yes but he couldn't pronounce his R's.
TOADIE: Well that didn't help me with WOBSON'S WE WEGISRATION OF WESIDENCY WEQUEST now did it.
Toadie then looks at Sindi's shirt and points out she's buttoned it wrong. Toadie says it doesn't matter it could happen to everyone. He goes to get out of the car but his seatbelt is still on and he falls back. Sindi laughs.

Lou is going over the sums looking depressed. He goes to bed. Trixie pretends to be asleep. Lou goes to sleeps and Trixie opens her eyes and cries. In the morning Lou wakes up and Trixie isn't in bed. He searches the hotel room for her but she's not there. He sees a note on the table.
“My Darling Lou, If there's one thing I never meant to do is to cause you pain but I've done just that and it breaks my heart. The only way to begin to right these wrongs is to let you begin again without me. Oneday I'll repay you and I'll make you proud of me again. Yours with sorrow and love Trixie”
Lou just stares at the letter.
