- Susan thinking Lyn is avoiding taking Oscar to Karl
- Karl and Izzy chatting in the surgery
Surgery of sad and sorry sods
Karl tells Izzy he had dreams of working in Africa. He gets a bit worried about over sharing and adds that he loves his wife and kids, but... "Every now and then you see the gap," chimes in Izzy. She wants to know what he does when he glimpses the gap, and he says he has Susan. "I think you need someone who's impartial," she informs him
Scullys house of sports
Joe's still trying get Ozzy to watch sport (caber tossing?). Lyn wants to know when Joe's going to go and get the money that Lou owes them. Joe says he will soon.
Surgery of submerging secrets
Izzy asks if Karl has thought about chucking it all in. He says he has, but there's always been things that need to be taken care of like bills and mortgages. He liked being a family doctor initially, but now it seems that it's becoming a chore and no one cares anymore. Izzy says that people still cares about him, and he's got a lot going for him. She asks if he wants a drink but he says he's "not allowed to". They're about to leave the office when he reconsiders and gets out the bottle he has stashed in the desk.
The Pub aka "Show me the money!"
Joe asks Lou if he could get the money off him, but Lou says he's a bit short at the moment and the cheque will be in the mail at the end of the month. Joe agrees half-heartedly but gets angry when he overhears Lou making lavish wedding plans over the phone, and demands the money now.
Surgery of sozzled sadsacks
Izzy's telling Karl she always picks the men that will give her grief. Karl hypothesizes that she thinks she doesn't deserved to be treated well. "Why thank you, Oprah!" she laughs. Izzy also tells him that she's starting to feel a bit irrelevant at home because Max and Steph are so cosy together. "I came here looking for my family, and it feels like I'm losing them again."
Pub Office
Joe sits in Lou's office. Lou asks him whether he can hold off till after the wedding- after all now he feels like a new man, and he wants the wedding to reflect that; however Joe tells him that he needs the money now. Lou gives him a pleading look and promises that he will pay Joe back after the wedding- and with interest. Joe sighs and agrees in the end.
Surgery
Karl and Izzy are sitting in the surgery having a chat. Izzy confides in him that before now she has thought that every man in a relationship has been interested in sex, so she simply flirted back to get their attention. Karl points out that she is not flirting now, and Izzy takes a minute to comprehend before looking pleased and repeating that she isn't. Karl smiles at her and says that they should have these chats more often, after all it's like therapy- except cheaper. Izzy laughs and agrees. Karl holds up the bottle of wine and declares one more for the road.
Scullys
Joe admits to Lyn that he approached Lou, however didn't end up getting the money back. Lyn gives Joe a little 'I told you so' look, but Joe then tells her that Lou wants to have a nice wedding. Lyn smiles at him and says that he is a big softie and she wouldn't have taken the money either. Oscar starts to become grizzly and Lyn holds up a video to cheer him up: Bold and the Beautiful best ever weddings. Joe looks outraged and tells her that Oscar isn't going to watch a show where Amber has an identical twin sister, and Macy comes back from the dead. Lyn gives Joe a teasing look for the fact that he knows what's going on in the series, and declares that Joe is a soap fan. Joe looks scandalized and cries 'I am not!'
Pub
Lou serves Susan a meal which Karl bought for her and she looks amused as Lou kindly pours the sauce for her. She asks what the meal is for and Karl tells her it is because how special she is to him and how he appreciates her standing by him over the years. Susan smiles at him and replies that she does whatever he would do for her- after all, they are a partnership. Susan begins to eat and Karl looks guilty.
Hoylands
Steph and Max are talking about the cricket when Izzy rushes in with her breakfast. She makes a rushed departure and Max comments about how happier she looks this morning. Summer and Boyd are also in front of the television watching sport when Sky arrives at the door. Boyd calls out to her and she enters commenting on how much they look like a typical Aussie family. She leans over Boyd and asks if he is ready to come to the fan club meet. Boyd half-heartily agrees. Sky reminds him that he can stay and watch if he really likes but Boyd insists that he'll go. Max points out that he will miss Pointing's century but he tells Max that he doesn't care and exits with Sky. Steph and Max exchange looks.
The Coffee Shop
In the coffee shop Boyd and Sky meet with the club members and they sit at table. They all begin discussing Virginia Wheeler, and even Harold becomes involved. He then excuses himself and gives Lyn and Susan their coffees. He apologizes for the delay, but he says to them that they are talking about Virginia Wheeler inside and it is most enthralling.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Lyn gives Susan a look, and Susan just shrugs in confusion. Susan then declares out of the blue that they should start the book club up again so they can socialize with more people again. Lyn opens her mouth to say something, but Oscar begins to grizzle. Lyn picks him up and comforts him while Susan asks how he is. Lyn rocks him and admits that he has a bit of a temper, but she has made an appointment with Karl this afternoon. Susan looks pleased, however when Susan begins drinking her coffee she looks uneasy.
The Coffee Shop
Continuing with the fan club each person is discussing which is their favourite scene. Boyd grabs a drink from the fridge, and when Sky asks whether Boyd remembers a particular scene he flatly replies no. Sky looks confused, and Boyd then explodes, admitting that he has better things to do than discuss a dead actress with a bunch of lunatics. He storms out of the Coffee Shop leaving everyone look bewildered.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Sky calls out after him and follows him until he turns around. She asks him what gives him the right to call those people lunatics, because they are nice people. Boyd rolls his eyes and points out there was one man in there with ponytails all over his head. Sky looks confused, and Lyn and Susan turn around to watch what's going on- but when they see who it is they focus on their coffees. Sky then tries to find out why Boyd is being so judgmental all of a sudden, because it is so unlike him, and Boyd jumps down her throat. He confesses that he has been running round in circles trying to please her and get into what she is into- and that Max and Serena were right, as he was under her thumb. Sky looks slightly hurt but recovers saying that if he doesn't want to hang around with a 'freak' he doesn't have to. Boyd then tells her that they shouldn't spend so much time together and storms off- Sky looks temporally frozen before calling 'fine' after him. She storms back inside.
Hoylands
Boyd storms inside and Max asks him why he is back so early, saying 'shouldn't you be watching some black and white movies.' Boyd just shrugs and heads to the kitchen. Steph then calls out that Ponting's gone and the Hoylands look outraged. Summer leaves the TV set and asks whether Boyd wants to know what score Ponting's out for. Boyd insists that he doesn't care and heads to his room. Summer cries out 87 after him but Boyd shuts the door. Summer settles herself down in front of the TV and when Max and Steph look at the closed door, Summer shrugs and declares that Sky and Boyd must have broken up. Steph and Max once again exchange looks.
Surgery
Karl is in the surgery and Izzy calls out and walks in. Karl looks pleased to see her and embarrassingly confesses that he must have had too much to drink last night. Izzy smiles and tells him that she is hear to thank him for the talk last night- after all she slept soundly. Karl looks pleased and admits that he did his fair share of 'dumping' himself and thanks her for listening. He then comments that her hair looks different and she twirls around and says that she just dropped by Gino's and got a haircut. Karl tells her that it looks good and she thanks him and leaves. Karl smiles after her.
Hoylands
Sky knocks on the Hoylands' door however it is Max who answers it. She asks politely whether Boyd's there but he tells her that she just missed him because Boyd is down at the oval playing cricket. Sky mutters that he must be pleased, and when Max asks her what she said she explodes at him. She points out that it must be good to have back his nice normal athletic son back as he has apparently escaped the hand of the freak. Max looks puzzled and asks what she means but then she continues reminding him about all his 'under the thumb' comments; and how much of a bad influence Sky is for Boyd. She stalks off looking hurt and Max follows her looking outraged. Harold pulls up in the street and calls after Sky but she keeps walking. Max approaches Harold and Harold confesses that Boyd was out of line at the coffee shop branding people like he did. Max looks confessed, and then reminds him that Sky is the obnoxious one for the way she just spoke to him. Max says to Harold if his kids spoke to an adult like that there would be consequences and that Sky should have at least some boundaries. Max walks away, leaving Harold shaking his head.
Surgery
Karl is sleeping at his desk when Lyn knocks at the door. He wakes with a start and apologizes to Lyn asking how long she had been there. She looks a bit nervous and admits that she called out a few times but there was no answer. Lyn brings in Oscar and sits him down and Karl coos him. She tells him that he has a temperature and Karl thinks it is best to check his ears. He goes to get his equipment however is quite tipsy and drops it several times. Lyn notices that he is drunk and is horrified. Karl puts the ear piece into Oscar's ears and begins to look and Lyn looks almost frightened.
