Recap
- Steph and Stu are working in the garage. Stu tells her that one of the customer's wives has just died from cancer
- Angie and Toadie are arguing over Toadie's recent behaviour. Angie asks him what price tag is he putting on his dead wife
Toadie stares at Angie, shocked that she could say something like that. Toadie walks out of the room without looking at her, and Angie sits herself down on the couch holding Bob. She starts to sob, and tells Bob that she has really done it now.
Sky hands Boyd a mirror, showing him the new hair-do she's done for him. He looks at his dreadlocks absolutely horrified. Sky tells him that he no longer a surfer dude, and it makes him look good. Boyd starts to like it, after Sky has expressed how she thinks it is. She then holds out a compass, and says that she can pierce his tongue for him. Boyd shakes his head and says 'no way' and Sky calls him a chicken. Boyd reminds her that her tongue isn't pierced, and he doesn't want it done anyway. Also he tells her that he wouldn't trust her to pierce it, especially with a compass. They laugh.
Summer is doing her homework in the kitchen, and Boyd goes in there to get a snack. Summer looks up at his new hairstyle and gasps. Boyd shrugs and says that it looks good, but she tells him how weird he is. Boyd changes the music to something of Sky's taste, and Summer protests, saying that she was listening to that. Boyd is looking at a photo of him and Sky taken with his new hairdo, when Max comes in then with the shopping and drops it on the table when he sees Boyd's hair. Max asks him 'what the hell is going on,' and asks Boyd who he is supposed to be - Sideshow Bob? Boyd shrugs again saying that it's only hair. He then tells Max that Bob Marley was in his generation, so he thought that Max would like it. Boyd tries to excuse himself, but Max tells him to stay and sends Summer out of the room.
Steph is talking to Karl, who sets up an appointment for her to see a specialist tomorrow. Karl tells her that he will call her tomorrow to see when she's available, but Steph insists not to call her at home, because she hasn't told them yet. Karl looks politely shocked, but she reminds him that Max lost his wife to illness, and she doesn't want to worry her family, him or the kids. Karl promises not to say anything- especially due to patient confidentiality. He offers to go with her to the appointment, an offer that Steph reluctantly accepts. She thanks him, and admits she is nervous. Karl smiles at her gently and says that it is normal to be nervous. Steph smiles awkwardly.
Max is talking to Boyd about his recent behaviour- especially with Sky's influence, and asks why he is doing it. Steph comes home then and Summer signals her to be quiet, but Steph carries her into plain view, making the others look up. She tells Summer that Seinfeld is on, and she'll watch it with her, leaving Max and Boyd to their conversation. Max tells him that he wants the old Boyd back, the one that was his mate. Boyd says that the change is normal, and that no one can make him do anything, especially Sky. He then tells Max that Sky wanted to pierce his tongue, but he didn't let her- showing he can make his own decisions. He then reminds Max that she is leaving in a couple of days, and Max looks relieved.
Harold just comes home from the Coffee Shop, and Sky greets him. They have a polite conversation, and Harold reminds her that she will have to start packing soon. Sky looks awkward and tells him that she wouldn't mind staying with him longer, because she enjoys Erinsborough, and the company. He looks delighted and tells Sky that she is welcome to stay as long as she pleases-as long as he arranges it with Joe Mangle. Sky grins and they hug each other. Harold offers to open some cider to mark the occasion and rushes to the kitchen, and Sky secretly looks at her photo with Boyd and smiles.
Toadie is sleeping and having flashbacks of the accident. He cries out in his sleep, and Angie comes running. He begins to cry hysterically and Angie begins to comfort him.
Toadie and Angie are sitting on the couch, and Angie is trying to comfort Toadie. She is telling him how much everyone misses Dee, and that no one will ever replace her. She continues to smile at him gently, reminding him that everyone is here for him. Toadie looks up at his mother, saying that everyone we went out with before Dee only liked him for being a rebel or being a clown; but Dee truly loved him for who he was. He starts to sob, as he never got the chance to say that to her- but Angie holds him and says that she already knew.
Harold tells Connor that Sky still wants to stay with him, because she enjoys Erinsborough, and wants to get to know him better. Connor tries to look pleased for him, but then notices the box of ironing on the floor. Harold asks him what it is there for, and Connor tells him that Lou asked him to pick it up for him. Max rushes in, apologizing that he is late, but then notices the box. Connor makes the assumption that Lou is living at the pub so it's easier to work, but Max declares that being a owner of the pub, he should have known. Harold sighs, and says that Lou is just lonely, as he recognizes the symptoms, because he once was there himself.
Sky and Boyd are chatting in the Coffee Shop when Max comes in. Sky jumps up and acts like she was serving him, and Max sits with him. Max orders and English muffin with bacon, and Sky smiles at him, saying that bacon is a no-no for people over forty. Max rolls his eyes, and says that it is her job to serve food, not to worry about the condition of his arteries. Boyd asks for a muffin, but Sky talks him into something more exotic. When Sky leaves, Max tells Boyd that if Sky were offering weed killer, he'd order it. She then comes back and says to Boyd that she's staying longer after all and not heading back to WA. Boyd looks very pleased, however Max turns away with a pained look on his face.
Toadie and Tim are in the pub and Toadie apologies for the way he has been acting recently. Tim says that it is good to have him back, and Toadie look surprised at the fact he isn't getting fired. Tim laughs and says that the reason he was hired is because of his people skills and caring personality, so he should give some of that in return. They begin to talk about new cases when Toadie interrupts, saying there is one more thing he needs to do before he jumps on the merry-go-round.
Toadie asks Stu to sit down, before telling him that there is no easy way to say this and comes right out and apologizes. He begins to go into a speech about his behaviour being outrageous towards him, and hopefully they could become friends again in the long run. Stu sighs and reminds him that he misses Dee too, and knows how much he is hurting; and that he wouldn't be a mate if he couldn't put up with his grieving temper. Toadie looks pleased and thanks him. Stu and Toadie hug, and Stu tells him that it is great to have him back.
Steph is at the specialist and she tells her that there is definitely a lump there, however it may not me cancerous. Steph still looks worried, so the specialist tells her that she will send her down for an ultrasound; but the lump may just be a cyst, therefore it can be drained out. Steph still looks unconvinced, so the specialist reminds her that if the tumour is cancerous there are many different ways to approach it, and on the fact it was caught early and she's so young and healthy, it reduces the risk of further problems. She asks when her ultra sound is, and the specialist says 'no time like the present.'
Back at the Coffee Shop, Sky is still serving and Max asks her for a meal. He pays her, but she is a little sidetracked and takes a while to take the money of Max. Max then goes out the back to Harold, confiding in his concerns about Sky. He asks Harold if she is on drugs, and Harold smiles and tells him that he knows she isn't, and it was all a misunderstanding. Max continues to find something wrong with Sky, and queries her appearance. Harold defends her, saying that she is just an individual and can become quite creative if encouraged. Max then gets to the point with Boyd's hair, and Harold laughs saying that teenagers are indeed creative... but stops when he realizes that Max doesn't think it is funny. Harold then realizes that Sky did it, and asks if Boyd was unconscious when Sky was doing that hairstyle. Max then scuffs and tells Harold that he doesn't want Boyd to be led astray. Harold finds this offensive and snaps that he might not want Sky to be led astray. Max asks him to continue with his statement, and Harold looks embarrassed, saying that he didn't really mean it like that. Max tells him to stop wiggling out of it and to finish what he was going to say... but Harold just finishes with 'who took Toadie's car for a joyride?' Max looks quite angry at that.
Steph's having her ultrasound and is trying to create conversation with the person doing it, however she is paying close attention, and putting little x's on the screen. Steph asks why that is being done, and the person assures her that she is marking bits on the ultrasound that the doctor should check out. More and more x's appear on the screen, and Steph asks what is going on. The person running the ultrasound refuses to say anything, as she is 'not qualified' to say anything, but Steph protests, saying that she will stay until she knows what's happening. A distressed Steph demands to see the specialist.
