Recap
- Toadie telling Sgt. Douglas he's going to take matters into his own hands
- Libby telling Karl and Susan she's moving in with Stu
- Lyn not connecting with Oscar
The Scullys
Lyn's cleaning as Joe walks in. He's come home from work early to spend time with Oscar. Lyn asks if Joe wants to feed him, and Joe is happy to. He comments that the milk's a bit cold, but Lyn says it's fine. "All well, mum knows best." Lyn says she'll go down to the shops now Joe's home. He says they'll come with her, but she says it's quicker by herself and rushes out.
The Kennedys
Susan is helping Libby pack up boxes. Karl is at the hospital organizing tests for a patient (Steph). Susan says to Libby that living with a flatmate does present some problems, but Libby reminds her that Stu lived with her and Drew when he first came from Oakey. "I seem to remember that didn't go well," says Susan. "... Yes, well um, the first time he leaves the toilet seat up, I'll zap him with a cattle prod!" Susan answers the door to Stu who's come to help shift the boxes. He picks up the heaviest one, and struggles out the door with it. Libby and Susan smile then get all sentimental, with Susan saying that she misses Libby already.
Lou's Pub Office
Connor and Max are looking at how well Lou's 70s magazines are selling on eBay. Connor gets up to go, and spots a dressing gown hanging up. He asks Max if they're planning another Japanese theme night - because Lou seems to have a kimono. Max says they're not, but it looks like it needs a clean. Connor says he'll take it to the dry cleaners. Max says not to worry, but Connor insists.
The Coffee Shop
Lyn is sitting absent-mindedly at a table as Connor walks in. She sees him, and calls out for him to come over. She apologises for getting all blubbery and upset the other day, and says the toy tiger was beautiful. Connor says it's fine, and gets up to go because he's in a rush, but Lyn gets him to sit back down to chat. He says he really has to go, but Lyn practically pleads with him to stay and orders them some coffee's. He gives in and stays.
Number 30
Toadie wants to record a deposition from Connor about the car Stu gave him. Connor says he isn't in the mood, but Toadie says he needs it done. He says for Connor to state his full name, and Connor ruefully says, "Connor Aloysius O'Neill". Toadie asks questions about the car, but tries to twist Connor's words around when Connor doesn't say what Toadie wants to hear about the brakes. Toadie starts to tape over it when there's a knock at the door. It's Tim Collins wanting a chat. Toadie says he's busy, but Connor escapes outside with Bob.
The Scullys
Joe is singing to Oscar and folding the laundry. "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy. Your daddy's a builder, and your a builder's son...". Lyn comes in and Joe says he was nearly going to send out a search party for her. He asks if the rest of the groceries are in the car (she's only holding a bag with some milk in it). She quickly covers herself, and says she didn't have time because she ran into Connor at the Coffee Shop and he held her up chatting. Joe asks if Lyn wants to take Oscar to bed, but Lyn gives Joe the milk and says she needs to go to the loo. She hurries off, and Joe looks at the bag, "We've already got milk, love...?"
Number 30
Tim asks who is representing Toadie for his case, and Toadie says himself. Tim says he won't win because he doesn't have a proper case, and to face the facts that any lawyer that represents themselves is breaking the golden rule. Toadie's not impressed. Tim says that having a member of the team behaving like this could be damaging. Toadie gets angry, and shoves Tim. "You know what's damaging? It's losing your wife in an accident that never should have happened, that's damaging!" Connor comes in and tells Toadie to calm down. Tim leaves and Toadie's trying not to cry.
Stu and Libby's Place
Stu and Libby are putting furniture in, and sorting out other bits and pieces. Stu says he'll fix the wonky kitchen door tomorrow. He says he can do stuff like fix things, and get rid of spiders and Lib can... Libby interrupts and says indignantly, "Please don't say cook!" Stu backtracks and says he wasn't, she can help him out with his dates and assess them! He takes a whiff of himself and notices he stinks. So he whips off his t-shirt to go and have a shower. Libby tries to pretend she wasn't looking at him.
The Scullys
Lyn is feeding Oscar in the lounge room. She holds him up gently. "I want so much to love you." She starts to cry. "What's the matter with me?"
Number 30
Connor walks out of the kitchen with Angie in tow. Toadie's out walking Bob, and he doesn't know she's there. Connor tells Angie how irrational Toadie's being, and how he won't fully let go of his emotions. Angie says it's a Rebecchi male trait, and it's not a good thing. She says that they have to get Toadie to open up, but leave it up to her - she's seen enough Dr Phil. Toadie comes in and is surprised to see her, and they hug.
Lou's Office
Connor puts Lou's dressing gown back, and sees a list Lou has left him. Max walks in and asks what it is. Max says he told Lou that Connor wouldn't do his running around anymore. Max wants Connor to help him with the deliveries. Connor goes to switch off the computer (they were looking at E-Bay again), and accidentally kicks a box under the desk with pyjama's in it. He also notices a toothbrush & toothpaste in the pencil holder, and looks at them quizzically.
Number 30
Angie's made brekkie for Toadie. She makes small talk with him as a lead-in to the big talk she wants to have about him moving towards, "a healthier emotional place". Angie tries to tell him that he's an emotional time bomb, and he has to let go of the anger. But Toadie gives her short answers and tells her to stop, until he finally blows his lid and snaps at her to cut it out with the "stupid psychobabble". He says if she's going to carry on like this, she can get in her car and go. He walks off leaving Angie looking upset.
The Scullys
Joe's in the kitchen, and Lyn's in the lounge room staring into space. Joe's yapping on about Karl, "The other thing that gets me about Kennedy, love, is, I mean who wears lilac shirts with matching ties?", while the tranquil background music slowly blocks him out as we enter Lyn's vacant zone. She's drawn back to earth however, when there's a knock at the door. It's Stu wanting to borrow a drill. Joe asks him how the new place is, and he hopes Stu knows what to expect. He says a few things like not seeing the bathroom till Christmas, and Stu thinks he's joking. Joe looks amused. They go outside to get the drill leaving Lyn off in her own world again.
The Pub
Angie's called Tim in for a drink to apologise on Toadie's behalf, and says he's not been himself lately. Tim says that contrary to popular belief he's not heartless, and reassures Angie that Toadie still has a job when he's ready to come back. Tim's big concern at the moment is Toadie's case against Stu. Angie looks confused and asks what he means.
Stu and Libby's Place
Stu finishes fixing the door, and Libby walks in, in her dressing gown. She had to have another shower because Ben threw up on her. She bends down to look through a box, and Stu accidentally cops an eyeful of cleavage as Libby's robe gapes open. He snaps his eyes away and tries not to laugh. He makes a motion to her to close her robe, and she quickly fixes it slightly embarrassed. Stu says he wasn't perving, and they start to laugh. He says that they should feel comfortable in their own home, and shouldn't be embarrassed. Adding that there's nothing going on in "that front" now anyway. He jokingly wriggles up against her, back to back, and says "See! No sparks!" She calls him a dag, and they have another chuckle.
Lou's Office
Connor is folding some bar towels, and having a chat with Max about seeing some merchandise down at the docks for Lou. He stops in revolt though when he finds baggy y-fronts (albeit clean ones) in with the towels. "What are a pair of y-fronts doing in with the towels?" "Well they're not mine!" replies Max. Connor thinks it's weird all Lou's stuff is in there, and they think it's a strong possibility that he's living in there. But they can't think why.
Number 30
Angie storms in and switches off the telly Toadie was watching. She lets him know that she knows about his case against Stu, and she can't believe it. They argue with each other, with Angie saying that it's blind vengeance, and Toadie saying he deserves it. Angie wants to know if it's about money, and Toadie says that's the way the system works. She gets angrier and starts listing prices, "What's the price tag you've put on your dead wife?!" Toadie looks mighty po'ed.
