Recap
- Lori telling Connor she's made an appointment.
- Lyn saying Henry is on his way.
- Connor saying to Lori that they can make it work.
Clinic
Lori says that Connor doesn't mean what he said. He tells Lori they should go for a drive and have a proper talk, but Lori says that they're here now and it's for the best. "Thanks anyway." Connor tries to go in with her but she adamantly tells him to wait outside.
The Hoylands
Summer bursts in the door excitedly waving around a letter, because she's won something. She hugs Max, and says she's won two weeks worth of riding lessons at Eden Hills Stables from 'Girls and their ponies' magazine. "I wrote a haiku poem, wanna hear it?" Max and Boyd look blankly at each other. "A what poem?"
Summer's Haiku
Beautiful horseyShaggy mane and shiny hoovesMore fun than a dog
Summer's excited she gets to trot, gallop, canter and wear jodhpurs. Max says that she's very lucky, heaps of kids would love to win that. Summer gets sad all of a sudden, and says she's too lucky and she'll have to give it away. Max and Boyd think she's crazy. Summer says she'll give it to Lisa, and tries to convince herself it's the right thing to do.
Clinic
Lori finishes filling out a form, and looks around at a couple and a lady flicking through a magazine. Lori rips the sheet off the clipboard and hurries outside. Connor is sitting in the car biting his nails, facing away from her. She comes out, dumps the paper in a pot plant, looks over at Connor and runs away.
The Scullys
Lyn is flustered because there's nothing to eat in the house, and says she'll go down the shops. She's working herself into a tizz, and Joe suggests she sit down and he'll put Bert (Newton) on. Lyn thinks that fresh air will help her, and opens the door...to see Henry standing there. He hugs her. "How's my number one girl?" Lyn looks bewildered.
Erinsborough High
Jack sneaks up behind Nina and whacks her on the butt with a ruler. Nina laughs, and says he better look out or she'll get him back. They have a playfight, karate chopping each other. Lori spots them and walks up asking to speak to Jack. Nina walks off, and Jack asks what's up. Lori says there's no one else she could ask. She needs money and a ride to the airport. Jack's surprised and asks when. "Now. I wanna go home."
The Scullys
Joe, Lyn and Henry are sitting down having a cuppa. Lyn asks why he didn't call first, and he says he was feeling spontaneous and wanted to surprise them. Lyn gets up and starts to say she has to go to the shops but Joe says he'll do it. "Talk to your dad, love." Joe bumps into Steph coming in. He tells her, her Gump's inside, and he and Lyn are talking. They go outside.
Outside The Scullys
Steph asks if Lyn's okay, but Joe's not sure. Steph spots Jack and Lori in front of the Kennedys with suitcases, and asks if they should be at school. Joe walks over to have a word, and Lori sees him, getting worried. Jack says he'll handle it and goes up to Joe. He asks if they're doing a runner. Jack says no, and he can't say much else at the moment, only that there's nothing to worry about. Joe trusts him and lets him go back. Steph asks her dad what's happening. "Well, your guess is as good as mine."
Clinic
Connor checks his watch, and sees the lady who was reading the magazine walk out. He gets out of the car and heads towards the clinic.
Ramsay Street
Lori and Jack are sitting on the curb. Jack asks what she's going to do back home. She's not sure, she just wants to settle back in first. Jack says she should have told Connor, but Lori says she can't and she just wants her mum. "I should have gone home a long time ago." "Why didn't you?" Lori looks at him for awhile. "Don't really know."
The Scullys
Lyn's talking about the baby, and says all is well. Henry knows something is bothering her though, and he wants to know what. She says tentatively that she's a bit stressed and she's had a falling out with Valda. Henry nods understandingly saying that Valda was always bothering her mother. She starts to say something about her mum, but Henry says he understands and he misses her too. "I wake up every day wanting her to be there." Lyn starts to get upset.
Office in the Pub
Max asks Steph if she thinks Lyn will tell the truth, but she's not sure. Max says it's always better to tell the truth in the end. Steph knows he's talking about Boyd now, and asks how he is. Max says the accident was a blessing in disguise, and it got a lot of things out in the open. Him and Boyd spoke about Claire (Boyd's mum), and what she meant when she said "Never leave me" to Boyd. Max was glad that someone was with Claire when she died. Steph takes his hand. Max says Boyd is much happier now, and has even taken to teasing Summer again. Steph smiles. "So everything's gonna be okay, huh." "Yeah, I reckon we're through the worst of it."
Ramsay Street
Jack is putting Lori's bags in the boot. She wants Jack to thank the Kennedys for her, and she's left a note as well. Lori's not sure what else to say, so she says bye but Jack pulls her in for a hug. She gets in the taxi trying not to cry. As it starts up, she looks through the window at Jack and mouths "I love you". Jack looks sad. The taxi goes down the street with Connor driving past at the same moment. He pulls up and asks Jack where Lori is. Jack points to the taxi driving off. Connor goes to drive after it but Jack calls out not to. Connor stops, looking distressed.
Number 30
Connor says he wishes that Lori would have told him, but Jack says she just needed her family. He gives Connor a letter from her and leaves. Connor sits down to read it. While he reads it you can hear Lori's voiceover, and it cuts back and forth from him to Lori crying in the taxi.
Lori's Letter
Dear ConnorI don't have much time to write this, and I hate myself for running away. But, I have to go home, to my family. It's the only thing I've been certain about since this whole mess began. Sorry I couldn't face you, but this feels like my problem, and I'm the one who has to work it out. Don't call me. Please try and understand.Lori
Connor looks upset.
The Pub
Joe and Lyn are sitting at a table. Lyn says she had to get out of the house for a bit. She said she was starting to tell Henry, but they began to talk about Connie. Lyn says he's just so frail at the moment she can't see the point of dredging up the past. "I want him to be my dad."
Erinsborough High
Jack says to Nina that he knows it must be weird, but nothing's going on. Nina says that she'll feel better if he told her. Jack says he can't say much, but tells her Lori's gone back to New Zealand. Nina wants to know if she's okay, that's all. He says that she's not okay, and he doesn't know if she'll get through her situation. Nina looks taken aback, but then smiles and says it's good that Jack kept his promise to Lori. "That's the kinda guy I wanna be with." He faintly smiles.
The Hoylands
Boyd answers the phone to Lisa, and starts to say something about the horse riding before Summer snatches it off him. She says to Lisa that she'll call her back. Boyd teases her about not being able to give the prize away, and Summer says she'll get around to it. Max and Steph come in and ask what's up. Boyd tells them that Summer isn't going to give up her prize, and Summer walks off into the kitchen. Max follows her. Steph sits on the other couch and says that Boyd's milkshake looks good. "I'm the milkshake master!" She asks what's in it. "Ice-cream, banana, caramel topping, chocolate chips and milk." She says it sounds yum, and Boyd offers her a taste. Steph gives him a big smile. "Alright. Ta!"
The Scullys
Joe and Lyn walk in to find Henry asleep on the couch with the radio on. Lyn says he can sleep through anything. She puts a blanket over him, fondly. Joe says that she has to tell him, and turns the radio off causing Henry to wake up. He asks how her doctor's appoinment went, and she admits she didn't have one. "I know that you're not my father. And that Valda's my mother. I need to know why you never told me." Henry looks speechless.
