Toadie points out that this doesn't necessarily put Tad in the clear.
The Coffee Shop
Darcy enters and Penny brings him a drink before he's finished saying hello and sat down. Penny confides that Harold has given her a 'look', which indicates that her job may finish at the end of her trial period which is today. Erinsborough High Classroom
Libby and Boyd discuss his reading list. He impresses her with his appraisal of Crime and Punishment so far. They go on to discuss Romeo and Juliet. Libby confesses that she thought the central characters were a bit dumb when she first studied it, after telling her that she wasn't much of a romantic back then, Boyd goes on to say that he thinks it's more of a anti war statement than a romantic play anyway. Libby is clearly very impressed. She sets him some discussion questions. Boyd says that having a mentor is like having someone help with his homework, Libby points out that he still has to do the work, he just has two people bugging him about it.
Erinsborough High Corridor
Michelle tells Connor she's been thinking of telling everybody about them. Connor is very reluctant. Michelle then says it's more that she doesn't want Tahnee to think she's got any chance with Connor. He reassures her that there's no way. Then Michelle points out that they need to provide a reason why Connor is going to the school social, and that they need to tell Joe at some point. Connor thinks Michelle has a bit of a death wish for him at this point, Michelle then concludes by telling him that it's far better Joe be told when he's in a good mood than he finds out by accident.
Number 24
Toadie is looking at Tad's credit card statements which run into thousands of dollars and is mystified that whoever it was brought it all back. Tad is of the opinion that it doesn't matter, it's back now, but Toadie thinks that Tad is being framed, now he has everything back there is nothing to prove he didn't spend the money. Toadie points out that he needs to tell the cops fairly soon what happened otherwise it will look more suspicious. They agree to go together, Tad leaves to get a plastic bag to preserve fingerprints.
Number 22
Libby enters and asks Drew to congratulate her, he does and then asks why, telling her in the meantime that Ben is upstairs asleep. Libby says that she went really well with Boyd. Drew asks if this is the same Boyd that taunted her so much she swore off teaching forever. Libby says he's different when he's on his own and starts to get dewy eyed about what she can teach him next. Drew reminds her that he still needs space to be a normal kid. Drew tells Lib that he's had a relaxed morning with Ben and he's tried Ben on pears and he loves them. Libby frets that Ben might turn out to be allergic to pears. Drew points out logically that they won't know unless they try. Libby says that Ben shouldn't have fruit until he's fully established on vegetables as he'll be addicted to sweet stuff. Drew favours the idea of variety, but Libby says that that's not what the book says. Drew points out that sometimes life teaches more than books, to which Lib replies by blowing raspberries until Drew threatens to tell Ben!

Toadie and Tad are back from the police station. Tad is worried that the cops were so suspicious, Toadie points out that that's their job, and says that from a legal point of view it looks as if Tad is committing major fraud, Tad feels that even Toadie is doubting his story. He gets up to answer the phone. A voice on the other end says that he has what Tad is looking for and hangs up.
The Coffee Shop
Joe and Connor are chatting to Libby and Ben, telling Ben he'll soon be working at the garage with his Daddy. Penny brings them their packed lunches, and Joe asks why she's not smiling. She tells them that she thinks Harold will be letting her go at the end of the day, but Joe and Libby let her know that she's really popular and attracting customers. Penny points out that this may be that they want to see what she drops next. Connor tells her she's only human. Joe pulls Harold to one side and tells him that Penny is an asset. Harold says he sure she appreciates Joe's support. He then confides that he knows Michelle has a crush on a boy, and he's worried. He then lets Harold get back to his job. Harold goes outside to clear tables and Darcy sidles up to him, again to put in a good word for Penny. Harold tells him he's out of place in doing so, and that he won't take the recommendation too seriously, adding in warning that he knows Penny is also Darcy's patient and from what he's observed Darcy should be treading carefully. Darcy persists, but Harold is firm and tells him that it is a business decision and as Harold own the business, he makes the decision. Darcy finally leaves. Meanwhile Libby is inside ordering food from Penny at the counter. Penny leaves to get the food, and Libby starts to tell Harold that Penny is great. Harold has had enough, and tells Libby that it's not her that has to pay for the broken crockery and spoiled food. Libby asks why he hired Penny in the first place. Harold tells her it was Mal's fault, as Cuppa Diem suggests hiring attractive staff to improve business. He concedes that they were right, Libby says Penny is not just looks, she's friendly too. Harold says that he's not running a popularity contest and that's his last word on it.
Erinsborough High Corridor

Taken aback, she says it's nothing serious yet, he asks if it's the age difference, and says there's nothing wrong with that and it's kind of cute. He says that to prove to an unbelieving Michelle that he really doesn't mind, he'll organise a special family meal tonight.
The Coffee Shop
Harold and Penny are serving, Penny is obviously getting tenser, Harold tells her to relax, it's not judgement day. Libby and Drew are chatting about a wobbly wheel on Ben's buggy. Boyd enters and hands Lib the homework she set him, saying he did it in recess. Lib says that it's good but he should spend time with his friends, Boyd says that his classmates don't really want to know him outside of class, Libby encourages him to persevere with them. Boyd tells Drew that Summer had the same pram as Ben when she was a baby, and how his dad fixed the wheels by adding extra washers. Drew thanks him and he leaves.
Number 24
Todaie asks Tad if there's been any news, Tad says no, and asks who would want to do that to him. Toadie reassures him it's probably not personal and Tad was just unfortunate. Tad says the note and the phone call make it feel personal. Toadie, playing detective, says they need to think about exactly what happened in order to work out who did it. They work out it's a man who can get in and out without breaking in, they immediately rule out Harold and Lou, then Tad checks where Paul was playing at the time, and immediately feels guilty for checking. They realise they are getting nowhere fast.
Erinsborough High Corridor
Michelle tells Connor that Joe worked them out, Connor wonders why Joe didn't say anything to him, they both still don't believe the reaction, Michelle tells Connor about the meal. They agree Joe would have to be pretty stupid not to have worked them out by now and they hug. At the other end of the corridor, Boyd races down the stairs and bumps into Joe who welcomes him, and says it's nice to see him and Michelle getting on so well, he says that Boyd should have no problem settling in with Michelle around, Boyd says that's good to know. Joe warns him about Michelle's getting involved in causes and says she may pick up some new interests with Boyd around. Joe asks Boyd if Michelle told him about the dinner, when Boyd says no, Joe assumes Michelle is too shy. Boyd accepts the invitation, Joe says it will be nice to get to know Michelle's new... friend.
The Garage

Drew is impressed, and asks if Boyd learned it from his dad. Boyd says no, his dad's away a lot. Drew asks Boyd if he'd like to help out at the garage occasionally, Boyd says that'd rule. They then go to shoot hoops together.
The Coffee Shop
Harold tells Penny it's time for a serious chat. Penny interrupts him, thanking him for giving her the chance even though the trial hasn't worked out, and that it was nice to be picked for her jobs for her brains rather than her looks for a change. Harold: "aah." She goes to serve someone, knocks a cup off the counter but catches it, to a round of applause from the customers. Harold asks her to extend the trial by another two weeks and is rewarded by a flying hug from Penny, she knocks a cup whilst doing so, but Harold laughs it off.
