Recap
Summer asks Rosie if Lou is her boyfriend infront of Harold
Darcy comes to Penny's rescue as she falls and twists her ankle
The Surgery
Darcy tells Penny that by wrapping up her ankle he is missing out on a date. She apologises and admits she has a knack of getting into trouble.
Number 24
Tad tells Harold that it's likely that Flick has headed for America, as he'd invited her to come and stay with him when he's out there. Harold wonders why she's running away, and Tad points out Flick was in a pretty awkward situation loving her sister's fiance. Lou arrives to see Harold putting the trays out the back. Tad explains how they'd taken the food from the wedding down to the salvo's. Lou tells him it was a nice gesture donating the food. Lou tries to make conversation with Harold, but Harold doesn't want to know. The phone rings, so Tad goes to answer it.
TAD (picking up the phone): Grumpy Old Men Incorporated!
- pause -
TAD (to Lou): It's the Vicar of Dibley!
How many BBC programme links are they trying to cram into this episode!
As Lou talks to Rosie, Harold quietly dissapears through to the bedroom.
The Surgery
Penny comes out of Darcy's room making small talk, and flirting. He tells her to return tomorrow if it's still causing her trouble. An unhappy looking Karl arrives and asks Darcy if they can talk. He advises Darcy not to flirt with any of his patients, and that he should refer her on to someone else. Darcy tells him that there is no need. Karl collects some medication to help Lyn sleep, explaining that he'll tell Darcy about the wedding or non-wedding later. He advises Darcy not to flirt with his patients as he leaves.
Number 24
Drew brings round some post for Tad, it turns out to be his replacement passport, enabling him to jet off to the States (noooooooo, that means he's going to be leaving soon!). He tells Drew that he'll be able to go as soon as he can persuade the finance company that recons they owe them for a car that he doesn't have. Drew asks him what he knows about Flick and Marc. Tad tells him he doesn't know anymore than Drew does other than the fact that they've mastered the art of marriage wrecking. Drew asks Tad if he knows where Flick is, but Tad tells him to ask Stuart, as he's the current guy who's fallen for her.
Lou's Place
Darcy enters and Penny immediately starts flirting with him, offering to buy him a drink. She asks him to look at her ankle, but instead he comments on her general beauty! Over at the next table Toadie tells Dee that he can't help feeling sorry for Steph after everything that's happened. Conversation turns to Toadie as he jokes about not being able to find anyone.
TOADIE: In the love steaks I'm a complete idiot.
DEE: No you're not. You're a special idiot!
Dee tells him he's bound to find the right relationship pretty soon, they spot Darcy over at the other table. Dee is amused at how Darcy has found himself with a lady who likes her relationships male and married. Toadie inquires as to if she is over Darcy, to which Dee is quick to confirm. Toadie wonders as to how Darcy managed to get through med school, which leads to yet another compliment from Dee. He goes to buy the next round.
A flower seller arrives which sends Toadie into a spin. He tells Dee how he is never able to say no to them, and after a bit of teaching, he still seems to fail at the concept. The flower seller approaches their table, and Dee kindly says no, but it doesn't last as Toadie reaches for his wallet to purchase one!
TOADIE: What! A rose for a rose. A petal for a petal. A stinky thing for a stinky thing!
He hands Dee the rose and tells her he didn't have to buy it, but he wanted too. Darcy wanders past and teases them about interrupting them in their moment. Dee wishes him luck with Penny, but he tells her that he doesn't need luck, as he turns around and knocks the flower seller over.
Number 30
Dee and Toadie laugh about how Darcy had to buy all the flowers and ended up giving them all to Penny. Dee admits that from appearance only Darcy is attractive.
DEE: Up here (taps head), the lights are on, but no-one's home!
Toadie admits that he'd like women to look at him in the same way that they look at Darcy.
DEE: You need someone like her, like you need a disseminated intravascular coagulation.
Toadie isn't so keen on the idea of that, claiming it sounds painful. Dee tells him to stop with the low self esteem stuff.
DEE: You are a good looking guy. You're strong, you're smart,..... you've got very cute eyes....
TOADIE: and?
DEE: .... and, you're a genuine man!
She tells him he is nothing like Darcy, and is the best man in her life; terribly modest!
Leah Haywood - We Think It's Love starts playing! Is this a sign of things to come!
Coffee Shop
Karl updates Drew on the latest goings on in the Scully household; basically that everyone is still very upset. Drew recons that Flick probably shouldn't return from wherever she's gone. Harold hands Karl one of his latest coffee tests; hazelnut flavour. He tells them he's trying to take a leaf out of Mal's book and has seven different flavours on offer. Karl asks if he can have a coffee, but Harold looks confused.
KARL: Coffee flavoured coffee for traditionalists!?
Harold leaves Karl with his unusual coffee as Drew inquires as to how Lyn's aunt is settling in. Karl tells him it's interesting with her ideas of gin being a food group and interests in wrestling. Lou arrives and tells Harold he's managed to fix the electrics and it's his turn to sort out the phone. Harold tells him he's busy with his business, and Lou storms off. Drew follows after him, telling Karl he's going to try his hand at 'marriage guidance'!
Number 24
Tad is on the phone asking someone to get in touch with him it Flick turns up. Lou arrives back closely followed by Drew trying to find out what is between him and Harold. Tad lets slip about them both falling for the same chick, only it's Lou who Rosie is interested in. Drew teases Lou, but Lou manages to escape and they head off, leaving Tad to be met by Nathan. Nathan informs Tad that he's come to reposes the TV
The Surgery
Karl agrees that Dee can work at the surgery, though wonders how she will cope with Darcy. She tells him that she uses positive affirmation - what doesn't hurt you will make you stronger. Darcy and Penny appear out of Darcy's office. Karl makes a dash to his room, leaving Penny and Dee to catch up. Penny tells Dee how Tess is now teaching in the UK and loving it, though despising the weather. Karl is surprised to overhear that Penny is a friend of Tess', but Dee tells him it probably won't make a difference to Darcy.
Number 24
Tad is on the phone to the finance company trying to find out why Nathan is trying to take the TV. He confirms his name and address is correct but tells them that he has never once bought a TV for $3000 with money financed from their company. Nathan starts to pack up the TV as Tad demands to know what is going on.
Coffee Shop
Dee is showing Toadie colour swashes for paint for the house. She tells him that if Lou provides the paint than they can provide the work force. Toadie isn't so sure on the idea of re-decorating, but Dee threatens him with revealing what's under the house to Lou, or else painting it all green and purple. The idea of green and purple doesn't appeal to Toadie so he agrees. She asks him to throw him a nut, as he's been playing with them meanwhile, which he does, but it gets lodged in her windpipe and she struggles to breathe. He tries hitting her on the back, but it fails so runs around madly trying to get help. Darcy arrives just in time and is able to help her shift it. She struggles to breathe normally, but Darcy tells her to relax and take her time.
Number 24
Tad tells Nathan that the TV he's trying to take isn't 16" wide, or belonging to him. Nathan tells him he's been instructed to take a TV. He tells Tad that gambling is an addiction and that he ought to be getting help. Tad tells him that he can't let him take it, but Nathan threatens him with violence, forcing Tad to stand back and let him past.
Number 30
A croaky Dee tells Toadie that she was disappointed with her near death experience. Toadie doesn't like her joking about nearly dying, but she tells him not to worry. He tells her he was embarrassed, not knowing what to do, but she points out that Darcy was a trained doctor, and not many people do know what to do.
TOADIE: You know that I would do anything for you?
Coffee Shop
Harold tells Karl of the earlier event that occurred, but Lou arrives and so Karl leaves them to it. Harold tries to ignore him, but he follows him into the kitchen, asking if they can return to their old friendship. Lou tells him that he and Rosie were not sneaking around, but Harold is obviously hurt and won't back down. Lou tells him that he did not steal Rosie from him, and that it just happened. He tells him the only reason they pussy-footed around was to save him pain. Harold points out that it didn't work, and tries to return to his job. Lou starts getting angry and tells Harold that he will not be made to feel bad about his relationship.
LOU: I lost my partner six years ago. I recently lost my daughter, and who are you to say I cannot have a few moments of happiness?
