- Susan talking to Flick about her falling in love and finding the right person someday
- Marc not being able to say his "I do's" at the altar
At the NonWedding™ Altar
Joe is telling Marc everything will be ok and for him to just take his time whilst poor Steph is being consoled in the background by Lyn. Joe doesn't want Marc to get cold feet now as he's paid a small fortune for all of that! He's trying to give Marc a few words of encouragement, hmm…bit late Joe! Then Lyn comes over and explain that maybe they should give Steph and Marc some time. Steph comes over,
STEPH: Marc..Look at me! Look at me! Tell me what's going on..?
Cue Marc looking over at Flick following his glance is Steph who has cottoned on! Oops! Flick flees the scene followed by Stu and Steph is left stood there dumfounded and Joe looking like he could spit feathers at any time. Then Karl rocks up, completely unawares of what is going on and Susan grabs him to drag him over to Chloe, who is “sick”. Steph then runs away herself followed by HerDaddy™.
Flick is getting changed and packing a load of her things into a bag. Stu and Tad are trying to convince her not to go anywhere but she insists that's she's off to stay at GrandPa Gump's but then realises he wont want her there after he finds out. Tad, bless his heart, tries to intervene but Stu pushes him aside and tells him to butt out. Stu says he knows what's going on and he can help so she should go with him, but Tad says she shouldn't to which Stu gets angry and has a go at Tad telling him to, “Stay outta this!” Stu then whisks her away to number 30.
Flick is telling Stu that she didn't want any of this and that Steph knew straight away what was going on as did Lyn.
FLICK: This is what happens when you try and play happy families; the dirt is always there it just gets shoved underneath the carpet.
Stu is trying to convince Flick that everything will be alright but she is insisting that it won't. She says that she could run away to America with Tad, just to let things settle down here but Stu says she can't just go as it wont solve anything. He says she should perhaps stay at Number 30 for a bit. Then there's a knock at the door.
There's somebody at the door, there's somebody at the door! It's Marc!
Bless Tad he tries to change the subject from Flick talking about a company that says he owes them money for a car when OMG he doesn't even have a car??!! Go figure..
Stu brings the convo back, Tad needs to go talk to Flick. He says the last thing Flick needs to do is go to the States right now.
TAD: She's my best mate, we go way back.
STU: Then you ought to be looking out for her.
Tad seems to be in denial about the whole Flick/Marc thing, he says that if something had have been going on, she would have *definitely* told him about it. Stu then tells Tad to talk to Flick because she listens to him. Then Tad turns into Detective Inspector Tad and susses out Stu…he has it bad for Flick. Stu says nothing, in a very Stu sort of way!
Joe and Lyn walk back into the house with Joe banging on about how the photographer will be back next time and he seen them sort of things before. Lyn is making herself busy.. then Steph storms in. Lyn asks where she's been and Steph tells her she's been out walking and wants to know where Flick is. She's not there so she storms back out again.
Flick is trying to make Marc realise what an absolute tool he's been. He says he couldn't go through with it and didn't want to her Steph. He's being an utter creep around Flick and says he never loved Steph but Flick is telling him she won't be around.
Tad is on the phone telling the loan people that he doesn't own a car. He asks what kind of a car it it and finds out for himself that he would never spend *that* much on a car. He then has to clarify his details but is interrupted by a knock at the door. It's Steph who barges in looking for Flick, Tad carries on his call to try and get rid if them shouting that he doesn't have a car loan. Steph grabs the phone, hangs up for him and says, “Where is she?!”
Karl thinks he jinx's wedding, first Tess and Darcy and now Steph and Marc. Yes Karl, it's all your fault god damn you! (/sarcastic) Susan and Karl have a good old gossip as to what they think has gone on. Susan reading a bit more into it saying that Flick over reacted too much over *just* ripping her dress….
SUSAN: Did you not see the way Flick was looking at Marc??
KARL: You're not suggesting…
SUSAN: Ah Karl keep up, come on..don't be so male!
I *love* that Susan quote! *ahem* Susan thinks they should go over to The Scullys and offer them some help but Karl thinks this could be construed as intruding. They argue as to whether or not it's a good idea to go over, maybe just to see who's right……
Karl and Susan rock up! Susan is consoling Lyn while Karl goes to speak to Joe. He asks him how he is and Joe is trying to persuade Karl and himself for that matter that he's fine. He apologises for before but says things didn't as expected he's fine now. Karl says he doesn't have to be but Joe insists that it's a storm in a teacup and they'll be laughing about this in years to come. Susan asks after Steph, but with neither Joe nor Lyn knowing *exactly* where she is, Joe says she's nipped out for a bit of fresh air, dropping a carton of milk. But don't cry Joe. John Lambert phones up and Joe takes the call. He says to John that he hopes Marc sorts himself out and that there is a wedding. For Stephanie's sake I don't! Joe says that John is in as much of the dark as they are.
Tad says he finds it very hard to believe that Flick would do that to her. He heard her talking about the wedding, she was really looking forward to it. Steph ask if Flick ever confided in him to which Tad says no.
Steph: I though you were meant to be best friends?
Tad says they are but maybe this whole thing has been a big misunderstanding but Steph tries to run off. Tad holds her back telling her she needs to calm down.
Stu is perched on the curb when we see a yellow taxi pull up and a lady with very funny taste in leggings and a very pink vest top gets out and asks where the Scully Residence is. She asks Stu is he knows anything about the wedding and he says they're all inside to which she makes a song and dance about as she thought she was late.
Joe is explaining that he felt the same on his wedding day..poor Lyn and that Karl must have felt the same, but he reluctantly replies. Then he starts banging on about nerves on wedding days and how he forgot Lyn's name on their wedding day when he went to introduce Lyn to his cousin. Lyn starts to get really upset so Joe gives her a nice hug an says everything will be alright. Knocky knock at the door..and it's the lady in the pink top! She introduces herself as Aunty Valda. She goes into the kitchen to give Lyn a hug and then says how she wasn't going to come and then she did and that she's always turning up late. She makes herself comfortable and asks after what she's missed. She introduces herself to Karl and Susan as well.
VALDA: So…Where's the party??
FLICK: What have we done Marc? She's my sister. Did you even think of that when she was standing at the Altar waiting for some you to say something to her? Did you even see the look in her eye? The anger…the hurt…And then you come over to here, to me. What do you want me to do?
Marc says it happened because it had to. Flick then gets cold so he puts his jacket around her back. Steph bowls up outside number 30, walks in and see's Flick….with Marc…cue AngrySteph™
Steph runs out taking her shoes off chased by Flick and Marc, Marc tries to pull her back but she hits him with her shoe. Flick wants to have Steph let her explain.
STEPH: Why? What is there to say? I am such an idiot. I didn't guess. I should've known that's what you'd do! Princess Flick you always have to get what you want *always*!
FLICK: Steph, please?
STEPH: You couldn't bear it could you! I had what you wanted, so you just took it!
FLICK: It was wasn't like that (starts crying)
STEPH: (shouts) Oh save your tears!
FLICK: It just happened.
STEPH: Oh what he held a gun to your head did he? (pushes Flick) Don't tell me it just happened. It happened because you're too low and too selfish to stop it.
FLICK: I know..
STEPH: I don't why you're crying, it's not like you've lost anything. Why Flick? When you knew how much I loved him, why?
Flick explains that she was gonna go off to the states with Tad to leave them alone. She says that Marc didn't matter she did, but Steph runs off back to the house. Flick is left crying as she plonks herself down on the curb. Marc ventures over but Flick's having none of it and so pushed him away. Then Stu gets involved and there is a little pushing and shoving but Tad is there to try and save the day. Wow! Lucky Flick, three blokes fighting over her!
Steph runs in and Lyn and Joe go to follow her but Susan holds her back offering her a brandy to which Lyn doesn't want one. She brings her back into the kitchen where Valda goes all nostalgic on us and talk about remembering the girls when they were younger. Valda then says maybe she should have a word with Steph but Karl says no and to leave her. Lyn makes an excuse and leaves the table.
Susan says to Valda that Joe and Lyn have their hands full at the moment and suggest that she go live with them for a while.
VALDA: I've always wanted to shack up with a doctor…
Steph is in there crying her eyes out and Joe call in that everything will be ok. He just wants a “Yakkety yak yak” and everything will be ok, but still he wont let him in so Joe wonders off leaving Steph to be alone with her thoughts. She tries to take the veil piece out of her hair and throws the pin down in frustration, falling to the ground in complete despair.
Marc makes a snide remark to Stu and so that sets it off, the pair end up scrapping in the middle of the street, right in front of Flick. Tad tries to break them apart, but isn't quite as successful as they start throwing punches and doing what Neanderthal men do! Then Flick gets up an gets in the taxi, Lyn sees this as she happen to be outside at the time, and tries to get her to get out the taxi, but it drives on. Joe sees this and runs after her but to no avail and Joe and Lyn are left standing there. They make their way back to the house.
The last scene is that of Stephanie in the bathroom still sat on the floor in despair.
