Recap
- Dee tells Toadie she's pregnant, to Darcy.
- Flick asks Tad if they are referring to their night out together, as a date.
Melbourne Night Club
Tad celebrates turning 18 and raves about how good the DJ is. Flick tells him he still hasn't answered her question as to if they're on a date or not. Tad assesses the situation, pointing out that it's only the two of them there, so it must be a date!
Number 30
Toadie is fed up of his mountains of reading and Joel has had enough of battling the living room with the hoover, so they decide to head to a nightclub. Dee asks if she would be able to come, but Toadie suggests that it might not be the best idea. She tells him that she's not ill, and is able to make decisions for herself. Toadie suspects that she's really trying to avoid making any decisions, but Dee claims a night out would do her good.
Number 22
Lou isn't sure how to tell people that he isn't really Lolly's father, or if he even should. Karl recommends that with the gossip that goes on around, it would be better coming from Lou himself, plus they're his friends, so they're not going to think any differently of him. Lou wonders how Lolly will cope at school, but Karl reckons that if he's comfortable with it, then Lolly will be, so it'll be no problem. John rings and arranges to come over to visit the next day. Lou realises that if they are to become regular visits, then he needs to get the news out sooner rather than later.
Night Club
Tad finishes a game of pool with another DJ and heads back to find Flick talking to two other guys. After they leave, he inquires if they were any trouble, and if he needs to sort them out. Following more small talk, Tad eventually asks Flick to a dance. As they head to the dance floor they pass Toadie, Joel and Dee.
Coffee Shop
Karl walks in to find Darcy ordering a coffee: he's planning to stay up late to get through the paperwork for the surgery. Karl informs him that he's spoken to his solicitor, and that he will be going ahead with it, though not for a while. Darcy warns him that if he doesn't pay up in a month then his half will go to Total Health Cover. Karl isn't keen on the idea and tells Darcy it'll take him longer to get the money together, but Darcy just tells him it's business.
Night Club
Mucho dancing is taking place as Joel and Dee look on. Tad and Flick finish their dance and come over to join the others, though Flick is quick to defend that they aren't going out. Toadie asks if they want a drink but Tad tells them they're heading off; they only came for Stevie Ricks set.
Number 26
Michelle gets off the phone and asks Joe if she'd be able to borrow some wood for some project she's got planned the next day. Joe tells her it'll be no problem and he'll bring them over for her, but Michelle seems keen for him not to know what's happening and tells him she wants it to be a surprise for him.
Outside Tad and Flick return back. She asks if he's had a good night, as they're home before midnight, but Tad tells her it's the quality not quantity that matters. She invites him in for a coffee, but he declines on the basis that he doesn't want twenty questions from Joe. Just as they're about to kiss goodnight, Joe and Michelle open the door. Tad makes an exit.
Michelle starts quizzing Flick over who made the first move, but Flick realises that she's taking a surprising interest and works out that it's because she has a boyfriend too. She starts quizzing Michelle back, but Michelle tells her she doesn't want Joe to find out, so drops the subject and walks off.
Number 22
John pops over to see Lolly, but Lou has just taken her to a birthday party. John tells him not to worry, and thanks Lou for being so forgiving over the whole issue; making it easy for them. He tells Lou that Sandy is going to apply for a local nursery which will mean they can visit more often. Lou is a bit reluctant at first, but congratulates the fact anyway. He asks John if he's told many people about it, and John admits that it's hard, but he's told his mother, who is very keen to see Louise.
Number 24
Paul asks Tad how the date went the previous night and whether it was actually a date. Tad isn't so sure that it was, but reckons that Flick might be interested. He's a little confused over it all, and claims that he's never really had a crush on Flick, but now she's interested it makes it different. Michelle pops over to borrow Harold's secaters. As Tad goes to get them for her, she tells Paul of Flick and Tad's kiss on the porch the previous evening. Paul doesn't believe it'll get past the weekend, but Michelle does, so they make a deal. If it goes beyond the week, Paul mows Michelle's lawn; if it doesn't, Michelle mows Paul's lawn. They agree no interference, and Tad returns to see them shaking hands.
Number 30
Karl brings over a golfing video for Toadie to help practise and be able to impress the other lawyers. Dee's coffee doesn't smell right to her, and mentions that it's turning her stomach, but Karl reckons it's fine, and if she's had a hard night out she needs water to rehydrate. After Karl leaves, Toadie advises her to talk to someone else about it, but Dee doesn't reckon her mother would be a good idea, as she needs to know where she stands herself first; and a counsellor wouldn't tell her anything she doesn't know. She worries about not being able to bring up a child on her own, especially as she's just starting her career. He mentions telling Darcy, after all he is the father, but Dee says he doesn't deserve to know.
Number 26
Tad pops over to see if Flick wants to do anything, but they are unable to decide on a film, and seeing Joe, Flick mentions that she's got work to do. Joe tells Tad that now he's 18, he can take him for a drink at the pub, but Tad decides that he too has work to do and makes a quick exit. Joe overhears as Michelle tells Flick that she and Tad make a cute couple.
Number 30
Joel wanders through as Toadie practises his golfing swing, though manages to stand in the wrong place, as Toadie swings the club back, hitting Joel between the legs! After crippling over in pain, Joel asks what's going on between him and Dee, but Toadie tells him that he can't spill. Dee wanders through and realising what Joel has just asked, tells him it's an issue at work that Toadie is helping her sort out. Joel leaves to go and recover and Dee thanks Toadie for mentioning Darcy; she's realised she has to tell him, just hasn't worked out quite how she's going to do it yet.
Coffee Shop
Paul points out to Tad that Flick is messing with his head even before they've started going out. Tad insists though that the situation is under control. At that moment Flick and Michelle arrive. Tad asks if they want to join them, and Michelle agrees, but Flick says they're getting take-away and head off. The coffee shop suddenly gets rather hectic with Joe and Darcy talking about the cricket and Karl walking past on his mobile, presumably telling Susan of Darcy's request for the money. Overhearing Karl, Darcy gets up to leave, but not before knocking into Dee on the way. Darcy is rude to Dee about standing in the way, leaving Dee wondering how she's supposed to talk to him.
