Recap
Joel asks Dee why she's just watching, but Dee tells him, he's going to get what he deserves. Darcy and Karl sign the papers for Darcy to become part owner of the surgery
Ramsay Street
Susan comes out of the house with Darcy to collect the paper; she and Dee have been given the wrong ones so she yells out to Dee to swap! Susan encourages Darcy to tell Dee and Lou that he and Karl are now officially partners. Lou congratulates him and says he'll put a reserved sign on the best table in the pub for a dinner for them all that evening. Darcy and Dee hug, though after everyone has left, she stands alone looking thoughtful.
Number 30
Dee runs into the house and bangs on Toadie and Joel's doors waking them up. They ask what's going on.
DEE: It's D-day, and I've got Darcy's head on a platter.
She tells them that Darcy is now a partner in the surgery and a meal will be taking place that night to celebrate. They can tell she is plotting but not sure how. She tells them all she needs, will be to get Tess there as well. Joel tells her to leave it up to them.
Number 26
A hair client has come around for a trim with Lyn, but Joe is working at the table. She persuades Joe to move all his stuff so that she can work, as she has a lot of clients lined up for the day. Joe doesn't seem to get the message and continues to hang around, until there's a knock at the door. It's Gino.
Driveway
Gino begs with Lyn to come back to the salon, but she informs him that she has a bigger client base than she can handle working from home, and will soon be earning more than twice what he paid her at the salon. He offers her a raise, but she tells him she's happy working from home, and the answer is still no. Joe comes outside causing Gino to disappear pretty fast. Lyn tells him she's got it under control.
Coffee Shop
Karl admits to Darcy that since becoming partners the surgery has been full of activity and the books have been looking good too. Darcy mentions that Victor is happy to locum for them at any time, to which Karl is pleased to hear. He heads back to the surgery, leaving Darcy to finish his break with a huge grin on his face.
Number 28
The gorgeous Tad proves just how kind he is by voluntarily making Susan a cup of tea, whilst she reads her novel. She asks what his plans are for the fortnight, and recons that he should get out and do something rather than mope around. Tad says he's pretty cool with just sitting around the place, chilling out for a bit. Susan recons he should use the time to think about what has been steering him off course. Tad mentions that there's no point worrying about the things he can't change. Susan suggests that some distance from Paul might be a good idea at the moment for them both to think about what has happened, but reminds him that he is still his best friend. Tad reluctantly agrees.
Number 30
Dee has just finished telling Joel and Toadie of her plan to expose Tess and Darcy's affair. Toadie wonders if they are taking it too far, but Joel agrees to join her. Dee recons that both Darcy and Tess were just as guilty as one another, and it doesn't take much more for Toadie to be persuaded.
Coffee Shop
Darcy is on the phone to Tess, telling her of the 'meeting' he has tonight, but tells her that he will be home by ten at the latest. Lou and Karl arrive talking about the new 'whiz bang' machine at the surgery. Karl points to Darcy telling Lou he was the one that got them the deal.
DARCY: What's good for the business is good for us. Am I right?
KARL: You are right.
Darcy heads back to the surgery, leaving Lou and Karl to talk. Karl tells Lou he had some reservations at first about Darcy, but now feels it's going to work out rather well. Lou recons that he's made a good decision.
Number 28
Tad is earning further brownie points with Susan by doing the washing up. He tells her that with Madge it came as a given! Susan asks if he's had any more thoughts about what he wants to do this fortnight. He tells her he'd usually be out riding, with Paul. She asks about his other mates, but with Flick away and his other friends busy there's not much going on.
TAD: The other guys are good mates, but it's just not the same.
Lassiter's Complex/ Number 26
Gino rings up Lyn to try and get her to come back to the salon, but ends up talking to Joe. He offers her 8% pay rise and Saturday's off, but Lyn is not convinced, claiming that having Saturday's off is the biggest insult as it's such a busy day.
LYN: Hey, tell him... (Joe holds the phone so that Gino can hear directly)... that I am not prepared to come back unless I get a proper pay rise, and I want creative control over two hair comps a year. Oh, and um, could you tell him, that I want a proper management role, not just in name, and if I want time off, I can just take it, would you be able to tell him that I'd be prepared to negotiate along those lines, thank you, Joe.
JOE: You get that mate?
GINO: You people are not normal!
Joe hangs up. Lyn confesses that she didn't really mean it all, but that she doesn't want to go back.
JOE: You've got an evil streak, Lynnie!
Number 28
Tad is lying on the sofa listening to his music through headphones while tapping the rhythm on a cushion. Susan eventually tells him that he's got to find his own dinner that evening, as Dee arrives. She tells Darcy, she wouldn't have missed it for the world, though comments that it has all happened very fast. Karl agrees that he's a fast worker and they head off. Before leaving though Susan checks with Tad if he's got a plan for the evening. He tells her he's listening to his music, but she recommends some study!
Lou's Place
Karl, Susan, Dee and Darcy are all enjoying a nice celebratory meal at the pub. Karl goes to the bar and asks InkeeperLou for another bottle of bubbly, he invites him to the table. As he returns to the table, Joel, Toadie and Tess arrive. Seeing Tess he invites her to join them at the table and begins a speech.
KARL: I'd like to propose a toast to Darcy. Now, partnership is not something I take lightly, in fact it's something I'd not normally consider at all, until Darcy arrived. Now I'm sure you'll all agree, that while he's been here, he's proved himself an invaluable asset to my practice, and a very good friend to all of us. Here's to Darcy a partnership we've forged.
They all toast to Darcy, and Karl encourages him to stand up and say a few words, but instead Dee rises, and places her hand on Darcy's shoulder.
DEE: I have something to say Karl, if you don't mind. Tonight Karl is beginning a partnership with Darcy Tyler, and I,.....I'm ending one.
She pours her glass of champagne over Darcy's head. Everyone watches on shocked. Darcy gets up to try to explain, but is cut off by Dee, who announces that Darcy and Tess have been having an affair. Darcy tries to get her to quieten down, whilst Tess is shocked to discover she never received the letter she sent her.
DEE: No, I'm not going to listen, this is insulting enough. I'm not going to listen because there is nothing you can say that I want to hear.
TESS: Dee, I thought you knew.
DEE: No you didn't think Tess. The two of you have been sneaking around behind my back for god knows how long, did you think I wouldn't find out? Do you think I'm stupid? I've never been this hurt and deceived in my entire life. You know, it's all starting to make perfect sense; the late nights, the cancelled dates. How long Darcy? Has this been going on from the very beginning? Am I the last one to find out? No don't tell me, it doesn't matter, I don't want to know. It's one hell of a party you've got here Karl, through this whole charade, he never managed to double book....
Susan tells her it's enough.
DEE: It's all right Susan I've said all I came here to say. Well it's all out in the open now, you two don't have to sneak around anymore. I won't get in your way.
Dee leaves, swiftly followed by Tess, Joel and Toadie. Karl tells Darcy not to say anything, whilst he and Susan settle the bill. Lou tells Darcy to go.
Lassiter's Complex
Joe and Lyn are heading to the bar, as Darcy rushes past them in the opposite direction. Gino spots Lyn and offers her a whole new deal with full seniority. She tells him she'll get her people to call his people and maybe they can do lunch. She and Joe head into the pub.
Random Road
Tess is walking down the pavement when Darcy drives up along side her. She starts walking faster, so he jumps out and runs after her. She tells him that she didn't expect to see him and Dee there as a couple, when she wrote the letter. He admits that he interrupted the letter, as he wanted to tell Dee in person. He goes on to admit that he wasn't strong enough to break her heart, but asks for another chance. He attempts to kiss her but she runs inside leaving him on the pavement.
Number 28
Karl is angry at what happened at the pub, but Susan doesn't understand why it should affect the partnership, or why he can't be trusted as a doctor.
SUSAN: What so being in love with two women, somehow affects his abilities as a doctor, does it?
KARL: I don't know, I can't answer that!
SUSAN: I would've thought you could've. Didn't seem to affect you.
KARL: I beg your pardon?
Susan leaves the house.
Number 30
Dee isn't so sure if what she did at the pub was such a good idea, as she doesn't feel any better for it now, as a result. Susan pops over and tells Dee that not only did she humiliate Darcy (who deserved it), but she humiliated Karl (who is now reconsidering the partnership) and Tess. Dee stands her ground, but after Susan leaves, admits that perhaps she was wrong and childish. Joel tells her that what she did was right, and that he was so tempted on many occasions to go and attack Darcy for what he was doing to her. He comforts her, and it looks like they are about to kiss. Something could go horribly wrong here!
