Recap
- Darcy tells Vic that Karl has bought their plan, even though he hasn't.
- Flick tells Matt that he's got the qualities to be an Elvis-o-gram, he just needs to work on flirting them.
Number 32
Matt is practicing his Elvis-o-gram in the lounge, but doesn't feel very comfortable about doing it. Flick tells him he needs to loosen up, but keep the raunchiness happening. He turns the music off and sits down. She tells him that he was much better than when he started and just needs to keep practising. She gets out a video of Jailhouse Rock and gets him to watch the dance, to see how it was really done.
Lou's Place
Toadie is working behind the bar whilst chatting to Dee. Toadie mentions that Joel left a message on the answer phone telling them he'd be arriving home that evening. He tells Dee that by the sounds of the message he's unaware that Flick has moved out and back to the Scullys. Karl and Susan discuss his agreement to go to the conference that Darcy suggested. Karl tells her it's on the basis that if they're going to get the ora-laser, he needs to know how to use it, and it'll be useful to know the plans of these big takeover companies. Susan gets him to agree that Darcy isn't all that bad and wonders what the chance of a partnership would be. Karl tells her not to be so pushy.
Surgery
Darcy is on the phone to yet another company trying to persuade them to sell the surgery ultrasound equipment for the 'big expansion'. Dee arrives and suggests that they go out for dinner. They agree on giving the pub a miss as Tess might show up and to head for a takeaway in town instead.
Number 32
Matt and Flick finish watching the video. Matt isn't convinced that he'll be able to copy the moves as 'he's awesome', but Flick tells him to have another practice whilst it's still fresh in his mind. As he starts to practise, Leo, Emily and Evan arrive back. Leo tells him he's not sexy whilst Young Emily tells him he looks silly. Evan asks to see what he's got so far, and Flick tells him he'll need to do it in front of an audience one day. They sit down and watch.
Lou's Place
Toadie comes to clear Karl and Susan's plates away and asks them how Libby is doing. Susan isn't sure how much they should be talking about the pregnancy as it's still early stages, but mentions to Karl some of the lovely baby singlet's she's seen in the shops. Realising that he's not listening she mentions the idea of them having another baby. Karl suddenly jumps back to reality, and apologises, telling her that he was thinking a partnership with Darcy would make sense, as it would give them a better chance at stopping these large companies from taking over.
Number 30
Joel arrives home to find only Bob at home, but a candlelit table laid for two. He yells to Flick that if she doesn't come out then he'll have to find her, but they may never return to the table. He starts picking at the food as Darcy and Dee come in the back door from rescuing the washing. Dee tells him that the table was laid for her and Darcy. Joel apologises and asks where Flick is.
Number 32
Leo makes a grab for the paper causing Matt to admit defeat with his Elvis impressions. Flick tells him that he needs to keep practising and he'll be fine, but has to leave for dinner. Evan reassures him that Flick is right and that he'll be fine if he practises. Matt admits that he doesn't like doing it in front of an audience and has stage fright. He tells Evan he isn't so keen on the idea anymore, and is going to quit. Leo asks Evan if he can enter the local chess tournament in the paper. Evan isn't so sure that he's good enough, but agrees they'll play a timed game. If Leo wins he can enter the competition, and if Evan beats him, he doesn't.
Number 30
Toadie arrives back and Joel asks where Flick is. He tells him that she moved back home with her parents. Joel demands to know what went on as she wouldn't have just moved out. Dee mentions that they thought she would've rung him to let him know.
Number 32
Leo manages to win a second round of chess against Evan, so Evan agrees to let him enter the tournament. He reminds Leo that there will be tougher opponents in the tournament, but Leo tells him that at least he will have had ago. Matt wanders through with a box collecting all his Elvis impression things.
Number 30
Dee and Toadie tell Joel that once he'd left Flick was a nightmare to live with and wouldn't do anything around the house to help. Joel tells them that they could've reminded her that it was a share house as she hasn't lived away from home before. They tell him that they did, but she still didn't take any notice and took a hissy fit and left. Joel refuses to believe them and goes to get Flick's side of the story. Darcy suggests that they give the dinner a miss, leaving Dee and Toadie looking at the candle lit table.
Ramsay Street
Joel knocks on the Scully door, but no one is at home. Karl and Susan arrive back as Darcy leaves. Karl offers Darcy the partnership in the surgery, and Darcy agrees. They agree to sort papers in the morning. Darcy walks of with a smug smile on his face.
Number 30
Toadie and Dee are enjoying the meal when Joel returns. He tells them that all the Scullys are out so he'll have to wait until the morning to hear Flick's side of the story. He tells them they could've shown a little consideration towards her like he did when Tad moved in, but they tell him that they did. Joel leaves to go to bed.
Number 32
It's a crazy morning before school in the Hancock household. Evan is busy trying to find the paper to read with his coffee, whilst Leo has already had three stale-mates against the computer at chess. Matt gets off the phone from trying to pull out of the Elvis-o-grams. He tells them that he's decided to continue as he has a new secret plan. Evan gets up to leave with the paper, but tells Leo they're not off just yet, he wants to go and talk to Mrs. Kennedy.
Ramsay Street
Evan manages to catch Susan before she heads off to the school. He shows her the newspaper article and tells her that it is clearly something that Libby has written about his family. She tells him it's just about child protection, but Evan tells her it's more obvious than that. He tells her that she was the only one at that meeting outside of the family and so clearly leaked the information. She mentions that she did go over to Libby's after the meeting and possibly mentioned it, but only in passing, never with the intention of it going into the paper. He tells her he feels betrayed by both her and Libby and that it will be hard to forgive.
Surgery
Darcy is on the phone to Tess making up an excuse for the previous night, as Susan arrives. Darcy goes to close the door (so they do know what privacy is!), which surprises Susan (she obviously doesn't then!) who asks Karl how Darcy took the partnership offer. He tells her that he hasn't shown much emotion over it, though that is usual for Darcy. Susan pops her head through the door to see Darcy, she congratulates him on the partnership, though is clearly more interested in it than he is. Sensing that he doesn't want her there, she leaves.
Number 30
Toadie wonders why he feels like the guilty party, but Dee tells him it's because Joel can't see any flaws in Flick. At that moment, Joel arrives and the others go quiet. He asks if they gave Flick the silent treatment too, and uses it as an excuse to go and see her.
Number 26
Matt comes over to ask Flick if she'll be 'Priscilla Presley' for when he does his Elvis-o-grams, so that he doesn't get nervous. She agrees that as long as she doesn't have to do anything, she'll come to the first few. They celebrate with a little dance, only for Joel to arrive at that point. Flick rushes to see Joel and tells him she's glad he's back. Matt leaves, and Joel asks why she moved out. Flick tells him it was because of the money and chores situation, but it doesn't matter as they are still boyfriend and girlfriend. He tells her it does matter as they are not 'together' anymore.
