Lance tells Allana that they should start their trip by going to a convention in Roswell. They have five weeks to get the money together.
Michelle and Bianca gossip about Flick and Joel.
Lou asks Karl to look after Lolly while he has his operation. Karl says Lou will be fine.
Flick is taking Harvey out for a walk. Michelle is suspicious. Joe says he'll come with her, but Flick says she's fine by herself.
Lyn arrives home as Flick is leaving. She's been to a sales rep meeting and she won rep of the month! It's a new mobile phone. Joe wants to know if they'll pay for the bill too(!) He's worried that Lyn is working late nights.
The Coffee Shop
Flick comes in and sees Joel. He offers to stay and have a coffee with her, but Flick says Joe would kill her. Joel they're neighbours and they're bound to bump into each other coincidentally(!)
Madge is telling Lyn about Lou's operation. Lyn tells Madge to send Lou their very best. Madge asks if Steph could cover some shifts at the pub, but Michelle says that Toadie has already rung her about it.
When Madge has gone, Lyn wants to know why Joe didn't tell her about Lou. Joe says she wasn't there. Lyn has also forgotten to go shopping. Joe is not impressed and goes out to get takeaway. Michelle comes out and moans that her washing hasn't been done. Then she begs Lyn to talk to Mrs. Nugent about her and Bianca hanging out. Lyn says she'll just have to wear it.
Lou is just coming round from the anaesthetic. He feels terrible, but Dee tells him that the operation went well. She tells him to lie flat. He's in a lot of pain, but he admits the tingling has gone from his legs. She gives him a button and tells him to press it for some pain relief.
The Coffee Shop
Joel wants Flick to tell Joe about them so they can stop sneaking around. Joel goes to kiss her, but just then, Joe comes in. Joel says they live on the same street and can't avoid seeing each other. Joe sends Flick out to the car and tells Joel that he should know better.
Flick is ranting at Joe but he's not having it - he told her to steer clear of Joel. Joe crossly sits down and opens up the takeaway. He tells Flick to shut up and sit down, but Flick storms off instead.
Lance and Allana are packing up their sci-fi stuff while Joel rants about the Flick and Joe situation. Lance is not interested. He starts showing Joel his prized sci-fi possessions that they're going to sell. Joel can't believe he's moving out. He asks if he can have Lance's video games(!) They haggle and agree on a price.
Both Flick and Michelle are sulking in their rooms. Joe and Lyn wash up. While they are doing it, Joe says he doesn't think they do enough together as a family - all the girls will be grown up soon and then it'll be too late. He suggests they have a barbecue tomorrow.
Lyn's mobile phone rings and it's Richie from Beauty Tree. He's congratulating her on being Rep of the Month. Joe looks a bit long-suffering.
Madge and Harold have brought Lolly in to see Lou again. She's picked some flowers for him. Madge and Harold reassure Lou that his house and businesses are all in hand. He thanks them profusely for their help. Madge tells him not to be in too much of a rush to get back to work, but Lou says he's feeling much better. Madge warns him that overwork was probably how he put his back out in the first place. Lou insists that he works better under stress. Madge says his body is trying to tell him something.
Joel can't believe that Lance and Allana's "junk" will bring in any money. They're going to get it all appraised. Joel thinks they are completely mad as they stagger off.
Lou is being walked by Dee and another nurse. He is very sore and she tells him he has a lot of physiotherapy ahead - he won't be back to work for ages. She tells him it will get easier, but he does not look convinced as he collapses back into bed.
Lance and Allana were only offered $300 for their entire collection. Joel says they should have taken it(!) Lance suggests going to Collector Bob. Allana isn't sure it's a good idea. His full name is "Bob Obi-Wan Kenobi" - he apparently changed his name by deed poll(!)
Joe is getting food ready for the barbecue while Lyn reads from the agony aunt column. The problem sounds suspiciously like Flick and Joel's problem. Flick says it's good to know she's not the only one(!) The agony aunt replies that her parents should loosen up a bit! Joe is not impressed(!)
Steph isn't coming on the barbecue as she's working at the pub, but the rest of them leave together.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Joe is moaning to Harold about the agony aunt. Joel walks past awkwardly. Joe wants to get a petition up to get the agony aunt sacked! Madge says maybe he's just a chauvinist - all the women she knows love the column, it's only the men that don't like it. Joe ignores her and tells Harold that a petition sounds good. Harold says he'll get one drawn up! Madge is incredulous.
Lou is worried that he won't regain full mobility - he wants to know what the future holds. Dee thinks he'll be fine in the long term. Lou is worried about his businesses and Lolly not having an active dad. Dee reassures him again that he'll be fine, but Lou is pretty depressed. He stares at the ceiling and worries.
Lyn and Michelle are playing swingball while Flick sits at a bench, bored. Joe tells her that they've all got their troubles but they should put them aside for his family day. Lyn's mobile rings then, much to Joe's displeasure. It's Richie again - he wants Lyn to host a sales conference as he's been delayed. She's going to leave straight away. Joe is very unhappy and he tells her enough is enough - she has to get her priorities straight. Lyn thinks Joe is threatened by her success(!) Joe says she seems brainwashed these days and she has to make a decision - her family or her sales friends, she can't have it both ways.
