Lance sees a symbol written in the grass from Allana.
Tess tells Harold that Tad, Flick and Paul weren't at school that afternoon. He looks worried - he doesn't know where they are.
Paul is reading a prayer over Rachel's grave while Tad and Flick stand with their eyes closed in prayer.
Joel asks Toadie if he thinks Joel is weak emotionally. Toadie says he wrote the book on weak and gives him several examples(!) Lance tells him to get over it. Lance is looking through an Egyptian book.
Lyn calls round and asks Joel to mediate on an argument about whether Joe or Lyn is the fittest. She wants Joel to be the judge.
Tess has come to tell Joe that Flick wasn't at school that afternoon. She says she'll have to talk to Mrs Kennedy if they don't have a good excuse.
Lance finds Allana's symbol in the Egyptian book. His face is one of delight and he jumps around the room shouting "Eureka!" and "Yes!"
The symbol means "Spread the word"
LANCE: Spread the word?
Madge and Harold are worried about Tad and Paul, but they do trust them. Lyn and Joe are also worried about Flick. Harold says that they must trust their kids. Also, he's noticed that his bible is missing from the bedroom, so there can't be too much wrong.
The Coffee Shop
Paul and Flick are listening respectfully to Tad as he talks about Rachel. He says he said a lot of horrible things to her that he didn't mean. Paul says there was good stuff too, like when she brought the birthday cake for him.
TAD: You think you've got so much time, but you don't. If I'd have known it was going to be so short, I would not have dumped on her the way I did.
Flick asks Paul when his own mother died and Paul says four years ago. Tad says that he and Paul have had a lot happen to them - adoption, fostering, divorce etc.
Paul and Tad think they've done quite well though - they're happy and healthy and not out on the streets doing drugs. Flick looks thoughtful about how lucky she is. Tad says by the time he and Paul are 30, they'll make some psychiatrist very rich(!)
Lance is enthusing to Joe about the Egyptian symbol. He doesn't know what "Spread the word" means. Joel suggests calling Allana, but Lance doesn't want to. Joel says he's done everything but climb Mount Everest for her(!), he should call her. Lance leaves a message on Allana's answering machine.
LANCE: G'day Allana it's Lance here, I'm just calling to 'spread the word' that I'm ready for my next task. So why don't you give me a call because I'm on a roll and I'm rolling right to your door.
Joel and Toadie look at Lance in disgust.
Toadie is sick of the leaflet dropping and reminds Lance that he promised to do a week. Toadie says delivering leaflets is demeaning to his future career as a lawyer!
LANCE: (suddenly) Spread the word.
LANCE: Spread the word. That's what you're doing with these leaflets aren't you, spreading the word. No, work with me here. These leaflets are spreading THE word. (runs off to his room)
TOADIE: This house is getting weirder by the minute.
JOEL: You're telling me.
Madge and Harold greet Paul and Tad calmly. They tell them about Tess making enquiries. Harold asks if they've seen his bible and Paul gets it out of his bag. Harold takes it and asks if it was any good. Tad says that Paul real a psalm and Harold says quietly that Tad's mother would have liked that.
Flick is apologising to Joe and Lyn for not calling. She says she's very lucky to have them and didn't want to worry them. She apologises for taking Lyn and Joe for granted. Lyn hugs her. Then Joe hugs them both.
No.30, the following morning
Flick comes round to see Joel. Apparently her parents want Joel to judge the fitness competition today. She asks Joel if they're still on for the deb ball. Joel says they are.
Flick gives Toadie a silver tube that she found leaning against the door. Lance runs out and opens it to find a picture inside. He is very excited.
Toadie tells Flick that if she wants to study Maths, that's fine, but if she wants to study Joel she should make an appointment with him(!)
Stephen Bailey comes round to see Tad. He invites Tad over for dinner at the weekend. He hasn't mentioned it to his children yet, but he'll tell them soon. He says maybe this is what Tim needs - an older brother. Stephen says he'll never be able to repay the debt to Tad for donating his bone marrow.
Lance has a T-shirt with a picture of Allana on it on. He is still pondering the picture from the tube. It says "Be Prepared" on it.
Tad is asking Stephen about his real father. He doesn't know a lot though, just that his name was Greg and he died in a motorcycle accident. Stephen says that Rachel shouldn't have hidden Tad from him. He says he'll tell Tim and his sister about Tad this week - he promises.
Joel is adjudicating a push-up competition between Lyn and Joe. Apparently their fitness levels are exactly the same so far. Joe says he hasn't been training and he's naturally athletic(!) Lyn says she's looking forward to the 5km run.
The Coffee Shop
Madge and Paul are chatting in the kitchen. Paul admits that Cheyenne is coming with him to the Deb Ball, since it's the holidays. Madge asks who Flick is going with, but Paul says it's not decided yet.
Joe won the race, but allowing for female body ratio, they're in a dead heat. Lyn doesn't want to do any more exercise - it's self-inflicted torture.
Michelle tells Lyn that Joe has something he wants to tell her. Joe admits that he's been working out secretly. He says he's never felt better. Lyn says she'd hit him if she could get out of her chair(!)
Tad is standing at the grave when Rachel's son Tim comes up. He asks if Tad is a relative because he wasn't at the funeral.
