Amy telling Lance that she has bad news for him.
Lance wants to know what the bad news is but Joel and Toadie come in and interrupt, but after Amy tells them that they were in the middle of something, they leave to give them space to chat. With the coast clear, Amy tells him it is all over between them and she wants to split up. Lance doesn't believe her and asks if she wants a juice!
Joel and Toadie discuss Amy and Lance when Anne and Tess come by and Toadie invites them round for a swim. Joel is still practicing his Spanish, so Anne asks if the ladies still believe it and more importantly how are they going to be able to afford the meal at Lanzini's. In a dodgy Spanish accent, Toadie says it is under control.
Amy is trying to make it clear to Lance that it is all over with him, but he still thinks it is a joke, as they are meant to be together. She tells him that they should never have got back together and it was a mistake. Lance now starts to believe it is serious and wants to know why, so she tells him that she doesn't want to hurt him. He again wants more, so she tells him that she doesn't love him. At this, he tells her to leave which she does.
Lance follows Amy out of the house demanding a reason and grabs her to stop her leaving, but she eventually breaks free and runs off. Anne has seen this and comes over to him telling him to come inside.
Lance is telling Anne that he doesn't know how to take Amy these days. Mistakenly and thinking he knows that Amy is pregnant, Anne mentions a third party, but this is news to Lance, so he asks her to explain Damien's involvement.
Lance wants details and how long Anne has known about Amy and Damien. She tells him that it wasn't her place to say but that she tried hard to get Amy to tell him. Lance calls her gutless and he phones Amy, but gets her voicemail instead, so he leaves a message for her.
No. 30 pool
Toadie indivertibly puts his foot in it with Tess talking about domestics, but she lets him off before going into the pool. Toadie is perving, so Joel reminds him of their problem about getting enough money for the meal at Lanzini's. Toadie suggest doing a runner or pretending they've left their cards at home so the girls can pay whilst they enjoy a cigar!
The Coffee Shop
Steph is telling Libby about the different bike trips that she has been on and invites her along to one that afternoon. Libby is a bit reluctant as she only has a scooter but wouldn't mind getting a bike, so Steph says she can ride pillion with her to see if she likes it. Steph leaves and Bill comes in. He wants to know why she isn't going overseas but when she sees Bill's smiling face she wants to know what is up with him. Bill tells her about Greg Mast asking him to write out why he cares about his work and why he wants an apprenticeship with him, and if he does it well then he might consider taking him on.
Libby thanks Steph for taking her out on her bike and wants to ride her bike herself! Steph is reluctant, but after Libby begs, she agrees but only if they can find a quiet stretch of road.
Bill is explaining to Lance about Greg's challenge to him but Lance isn't listening, so Bill asks what is wrong. All Lance can say is that he thought he already knew since everyone else has and walks off leaving Bill mystified.
Libby is reading Bill's essay and says it is fine and it surprises her how much he feels about his work. She asks him if he really wants this, and he tells her yes, more than anything in the world.
The boys are dressed to kill or rather con the ladies but Joel is getting a guilty conscious already. Toadie says the girls will hate their guts when they find out and bang on cue the ladies arrive, with Amy in at the back of them wanting to see Lance. Toadie says Lance isn't there but as they leave, Amy sits and waits.
The ladies have enjoyed their main course and wind the boys up by going on about how they will spend their inheritance, with Toadie suggesting Jose's family business in Argentina! Dione orders more expensive wine since money doesn't care! The ladies leave to powder their noses and Joel and Toadie fret over how big the bill is going to be. Toadie wonders too if the girls aren't winding them up, which freaks Joel out even more.
Bill comes round to tell Anne about his challenge and the possible apprenticeship as he wants to talk it over with her before he decides anything. However, he can see that Anne is a bit pre-occupied, so she tells him that she is worried about Amy and Lance.
The ladies have now enjoyed dessert when the bill arrives. Toadie chokes on it when he reads it and pulls the ‘I've left my credit card at home' one on them, but Joel quickly fesses up to the ladies that they've been had and that they can't afford it (as the waiter and manager look at them). The girls don't mind as they've enjoyed their bit of fun, which Geri said they would, before telling the boys as they leave that they are broke too, and to contact them again when they can afford it!
Lance gets a shock seeing Amy sitting there and tells her that she is welcome to Damien. She thinks Anne has told him about her being pregnant, so mentions being pregnant and that it wasn't planned. Lance, having just found out why Amy has been strange with him and is in shock at the news of her being pregnant orders her out of the house.
