No.30
Coral explains to Tad that he only half-heard the story. Things are hard with her and Tad's dad at the moment, and she'd rather he'd be with Toadie having a good time. She gives Tad the choice of whether to stay or not. She says he could learn a lot from Toadie. Finally Tad agrees it is for the best if he stays with Toadie. He says he'll have to have his own room though. Toadie says he'll have to build it(!). Then Tad says he could bunk in with Sarah(!).

Madge is waiting for an explanation. Paul says that alcohol causes nothing but trouble and he doesn't want it in the house. Even Tad wanted to drown his sorrows today. Madge says that was her wine, and also she's a sensible person and drinks in moderation. Paul says she shouldn't be drinking at all. He says she doesn't understand how alcohol wrecks things, like it wrecked his dad. Madge says that getting rid of it from the house isn't the answer it won't get rid of it from the world. Paul says it's a start. Madge says Paul's mother used to pour alcohol down the sink but it didn't do any good. She says Paul can't control his father's actions. She also says that his father is doing a very good job of staying sober without Paul's help.
No.30
Coral is leaving. She tells Toadie to keep him on the straight and narrow and make sure that he eats properly and goes to school. She tells Toadie that she still can't believe they've got a lawyer in the family! She says to call her if he needs any help with Tad. Coral leaves.

Ramsay Street
Paul is playing basketball on his own. Tad comes up. He tells Paul that his mum has gone back home and he's staying. He says he's made it up with his mum. Paul is a bit frosty with him, and Tad apologises for what happened earlier. Paul says it doesn't matter. Tad says he'll be coming to Erinsborough High and asks Paul what it's like. He wants to know if there's any hot chicks! They start playing basketball together.
Martins
Phil is in the loft now with Lance passing up boxes of study notes to him. The phone rings and Lance goes to answer it. While he is doing so, Phil disturbs some stuff and starts getting stung by wasps.
